This is probably the first time I (finally) see the glare that everyone's talking about. Now that I see it I can comfortably say that I can totally get over in time.
Yeah it’s most irritating in dark games with bright lights, but that’s also the games you want to play on an OLED display because of the awesome black levels. So where the beyond excels most is also where it fails most.
The PSVR 2 is the reason I ordered the Bigscreen Beyond, because the comfort of the PSVR 2 was not good I had the hardest time getting it to fit my face.
zulushi i know u get these comments a bunch, but i just wanna say thank you for making my day, and everyone else's day, and i really wanna be like you. but thank you again for everything
pico 4 stomps bigscreen beyond, pico 4 front ia 295 grams vs 205 of beyond, but for that 90 grams more only, you get 6 full inside out tracking so no bas stations needed, and a whole os system that can play standalone games and play wirelessly pcvr games, its also balanced by having battery on the back, the sweet spot is also big to compensate for movements, bigger fov, runs the actual res nativly unlike beyond that upscales, all that for half the price, no competition
not going to lie, i really dislike the idea of comparing it to the quest 2, it is a 4 yer old headset, so yeah it's going to look dated. problem is there is 3 downsides to this headset. 1. it is tailor made for you, tho you could just get another face covering, tho that's just a money pit. 2. lack of audio in the headset, what is the bluetooth audio like, is the lag ok. or does it use a different type of wireless connection. 3. and the final aspect the price of it. it's 1400 dollars Canadian. that's like the cost of 2 meta quest 3, and that is a more comparable headset.
That's completely fair! I mainly picked the Quest 2 for comparison, because it's been my main headset for a while. 1. The IPD is fixed as well, so that makes it more difficult. 2. I use Anker earbuds and audio is just okay. No lag, but some connection issues + they fall out sometimes. 3. Fair point!
@@anthonymullings8539 yeah it actually does. A 5k display is either 1 5k screen divided per eye or 2 separate side by side 2.5k screens. Same results. Do some research before you mouth off,
Do I see this headset dominating the market for SteamVR headsets? No. It's too expensive and too narrow in scope with the lack of eye tracking and limited FOV. It also lacks any standalone games or AR but that's what the Quest 3 is for. The reality is that SteamVR headsets will never be popular as most people cannot afford a powerful enough gaming PC to run them. The Beyond was never supposed to appeal to a mass market, so the question of whether or not it'll dominate the market misses the point of the product.
The question was if the Beyond will dominate the "PCVR" market, which is a valid question in my opinion. I totally agree that the Beyond is too niche to become mainstream like the quest lineup, but I could see it becoming the most popular enthusiast PCVR headset!
@@T00DEEPBLUE The whole point is that if you can afford a Beyond and everything needed for it, it will be the best VR headset you can get. The Quest 2 and 3 are affordable in comparison because while you can use it for PCVR, you can use them without.
@@smallbutdeadly931 Except that wasn't the question the video was asking. The question being asked was if the Beyond is destined to dominate the market for SteamVR headsets. When of course it won't. Meta headsets statistically dominate all other headsets in that space by a wide margin. Just because they can also be used standalone doesn't mean they don't count. Making that distinction smacks of gatekeeping. You never hear elitists say the same thing about the Pimax Crystal, despite that headset being usable standalone as well.
What frustrated these glasses, which cannot be shared with the family. And you need to have an iPhone to scan your face. (I don't have an iPhone) Not to mention the extra costs for index accessories, which ends up becoming discouraging (thus losing interest)
i mean- i wanted to buy one, but now that i look at the price… maybe not lmao, especially when i dont make my own money and i have to rely on my allowance “20 dollars a week”, and also the fact is im saving up for my own pc, yeah maybe in 2025.. id much rather buy the valve index, as it doesnt cost 1700 and instead just costs 1000 “without tax” and its still very good.
It is too small. Small to a fault. The vertical FOV is so small and blurry I’m running into situations where I can’t even play some games because I can’t read notes, menus or other UI elements that are fixed to my vision. Besides that the glare is so horribly bad that it is a deal breaker for me. I went back to Index as my goto headset, again….
the fov isnt even that small lol the varjo aero has 70 fov lol Which games make it unable to use menus? its bigger fov than quest 2 which was a standard lol sounds like some janky games
@@lvnky5315 it’s not necessarily the FOV being small its the portion of the FOV that has clarity enough to read text is very small. So when something you have to read is locked to your vision you’re screwed. And it’s puzzle and escape room games that I’m playing with friends. Notes pop up and I can’t read them time and again.

Did you get the Beyond yet? Is it better?
Bruh that much for a vr headset... I gotta give ur respect for spending this much money to make a vid for us.
When watching a 4k movie, is the screen completely clear? Pixel free?? As if you were watching the movie on a high-definition television screen?
I couldn't see any pixels! It was more so the glare that detracts from the image!

That shits cool. I'll have to admit.

Indeed it does...
Did not mention you can only scan with an Iphone
Did not mention that you cant run 2560 at 90hz
Fair point! The Iphone thing is a bit annoying. I couldn't really noticed the image difference when running 90hz with the upscaled 2560.
i got a laptop and it dont got displayport. can i use a displayport to hdmi or usb c adapter? thats all i have on my laptop.
the beyond is half the size and over twice the cost of a quest3, so nah, i will stick with big and bulky
