Main - fiend warlock (of course only for first 5-6 levels, after that pretty standard blaster sorlock), Karlach - open hand monk (final build is monk 7, fighter 2, thief rogue 3 - one feat is enough), Astarion - shadow monk(mostly for fun, but it can utilise some equipment that none other in the party cannot - monk 8, rogue 4, starting as rogue). And Shadowheart, light cleric.

nice to give builds for mid game! so many videos talk about fully geared lvl12 builds that won't be available before the final combat.
imho, easiest way to beat honor mode is to have cleric hirelings buffing at camp. u basically have resistance to all very early in the game. for the outside, I used light cleric shadowheart to bless everybody, retreat, and throw heal potions + some utility spells at specific moments. shadowheart is easy to gear with gloves, amu, and ring very early in the game.
i used laezel as a pure fighter (or karlach as a fighter, i find it easier to play than barbarian), wyll as a sorclock for eldritch blast and for dialogs and my tav as a gloomstalker assassin which is so strong he can solo most of the time or at least kill half ennemies before the combat even start. just have to buy strength potions and get titanstring bow which you obtain very early in the game, solo the ogres for that intelligence circlet which is very useful, and switch between two pair of gloves (one for lockpicking, stealing etc, and the archery gloves you get at goblin camp). increase dexterity to 20 (with the hag and first feat) and take sharpshooter only at second feat. Finally, use a candle to fire your bow as early as possible in the game and before starting combat. it's free and it's more efficient than those fancy poisons that always fail with saving throws. after act1, just progressively increase your crit chance with gear available and the build just rocks. U also have that weapon you can buy at moonrise tower that can give you an extra buf on your bow!
i sometimes replaced wyll with minthara as a paladin when wyll was short on spell slots so that i didn't have to rest a lot.
I waited lvl5 to try the astral sword and I was VERY lucky so laezel (or karlach as disguised gith fighter) could deal nice damage. Minthara disguised as a gith and smiting with the astral sword is really something fun!!!
and for wyll i used lightning charge staff and whatever works with lightning charges. no synergy between water and electricity or ice. I didn't feel the need of it
in fact, the most difficult part for me was the dialogs (especially when you want wyll to speak and the game choose your charisma 8 tav instead...)
i easily finished the game but without killing raphael and ansur. I'll do another run for that
a final advice. don't underestimate dexterityon any of your chars: it gives armor, allow to fire efficiently some arrows when you're out of position with any char, and most importantly gives initiative which is very valuable to start correctly a combat.

    • @citoyenatterre4234
      @citoyenatterre4234 5 месяцев назад

@@benjammin5252 always carry some candles, u can put one on the ground lit it up without any action, then u can dip your bow (or whatever weapon u use) for an extra 1d4 fire dmg for 3 turns and a bonus action. As a gloomstalker, u dip your bow on the candle and engage just after so that u still have your bonus action to hide back. It maybe sometimes better to use oil of accuracy instead against high defense ennemies.
Since my post, I made another run killing ansur very easily (globe of invulnerability at the right moment) and raphael. Finally I made some tests on getting the astral sword, and now I get it everytime: use a lvl 4 fighter with lucky feat, disarming strike with a +1 greatsword (or the paladin sword when u get karlach kill the guy, it's fun) , strength elixir, gloves of power, and most importantly oil of diminution on your sword. then with bless and invisibility potion the sword always drop. if furthermore u use mirror image scroll on the fighter, he.she survives and can pick up the sword.

Ancients Paladin, Half-Orc GWM. Open hand monk Laezel using radiant armor, Karlack Barbarian - either thrower or the Tiger & Wolverine aspects. Last Abjuration Wizard Gale. We can basically all roll in. I have a Light Domain Shadowheart when she is important. I used Astarion as a bard early until we had enough levels for a monk to be effective.
Just wrecking Honor mode. The radiating orb just gimps enemies. They cannot handle all 4 of us in the mix. At lvl 7. Using arcane Ward protects us a ton.
I have 4 camp casters. Shart, Wyll, 2 hirelings. Every one has wards, Longstreet, protection from poison and a lvl 3 or now 4 aid. Death ward on at least one character. As we get higher in lvl we will all have it.

For cleric/sorceror always best to take sorceror first for CON saving throws.

    • @TheBlackLightMan
      @TheBlackLightMan 7 месяцев назад +1

Yes, BUT. big problem. If you are mainly playing a sorcerer, using items and scrolls uses the last class you multiclass into. So if you level INTO cleric, saving throws for any items and scrolls and such, becomes based on Wisdom, not charisma.
It depends on what you value more because of this caveat. It's why generally if you are using charisma focused classes, then yeah sorcerer is generally preferable to start with. But if your main casting stat is conflicting because of 2 classes, it becomes a slight issue. So Sorcerer 1, Cleric 11 is usually fine if you want to cast with wisdom. But you trade some item utility by going for sorcerer first, then cleric 2, then sorcerer 10 because of how items work in multiclassing.
So you want your main casting class stat to be last. And usually you don't take bard, warlock, or paladin levels. Well then you kinda need to have Sorcerer last. If you want action surge this is solved then by fighter levels first, then sorcerer last but that's the only way.

Very good and powerful builds, well explained, and well done on covering the early game, but they're not particularly synergistic together. I'm trying three themed parties: one that's mostly water & lightning (storm lord, druid, wizard, eldritch knight), one that specialises in rendering enemies prone and then punishing that (moon druid for owlbear, monk, fighter, ice wizard), and another with members who can all reposition enemies into and out of AOE effects (sword bardadin, warlock, fighter, land druid).
But in each case I find myself sorely missing my radiant cleric, so maybe synergy is overrated!

My current honor mode party is:
    - Swordsbard/rogue/fighter (6/4/2) Face/utility (can transition to CC support by just changing hat to the arcane acuity one)
    - Barb/rogue/eldtritch fighter (6/3/3) throw them things
    - Cleric/wizard (6/6) light cleric + divination wizard gives great cc but also safeguards your party (can guarantee CC on big baddies)
    - Paladin/sorcerer (6/6 or 7/5) for when you need to really burst someone down
leveled them roughly in the order they're shown here and worked pretty well for everything except level 3-4.

I actually run a 10/2 swords bard paladin. Rogue is nice for more expertise, the extra off-hand attack from the thief, and i guess the cunning action options. I prefer to have my paladins multiclassed with cha full casters, makes it so the paladin can do paladin stuff harder and longer. Plus, once you have helm of arcane acuity and band of mysitc scoundrel, using your bonus action for an off hand attack becomes a bit wasteful, when i could instead cast a 6th level hold person with it that's basically guaranteed to work.
My cleric/sorc multi also takes 2 levels in evo wizard. Gives scribing for access to higher level spells and sculpt spells, making my evocation aoes safe for friends.
Light cleric is also great, especially once you get all the radiating orb items. It's nice to be able to inflict -10 to hit on several enemies when they hit as hard as they do. Plus improved or normal warding flare.
Generally, my last person is a rogue/ monk. They do tend to have strength potion addictions once they get tavern brawler. But with my party, they're the only one that needs them. Skill monkey for all thievery related actions, big damage, big movement, ability to knock enemies prone. Prone is very strong for honor mode especially, when bosses are prone, they cant use their legendary actions or any reaction in general. Advantage on attacks are good too. Stunning strikes is also a good tech option. Stun is phenomenal.

This party has a disturbing lack of stealth archery.
My Durge was a Duergar that started as a ranger, went to 5, picked up rogue, went to 4, and then topped off with 3 levels of champion. I took the sharpshooter feat and maxed my Dex. It was a menace throughout the entire game, and the specialty arrows were amazing. Besides, having Ranger for longstrider and speak with animals freed up some spells for my other party members. It could legitimately solo honor mode if you fight smart.
All it really needs to support it is a Charisma character for those dialog checks. My suggestion for that is a Red Dragon Sorcerer with a 2 level dip into Warlock for Eldritch Blast and some invocations. A paladin could work too, but they run out of steam way too fast for my taste. I would suggest pairing it with Sword Bard to get an extra fighting style and more spell slots. Something like Vengeance Paladin 6, Sword Bard 4, and Warlock, too, so it has a decent ranged option.

Furthermore you don't even need to rest until you get action surge to recharge which is at lvl11. Same sorlock build for wyll with 3 rogue lvl in order to have two bonus actions (so 3 eldritch blast per turn as long as u have enough sorc points and this without any speed and/or bloodlust pots which are really nerfed in HM). using all chars (archer, sorlock, fighter) usually kills any high life boss very quickly letting shadowheart cleaning trash mobs with AoE scrolls.

You have some Tabs under your skillbar. One is Passives. There you can switch to not-deadly melee attacks (spells are still deadly, also damage from Environment or NPCs. And of cause pushing her off the bridge is deadly too!). Minthara gets unconscious but quest is done. Now she shows up in Act2, recruitable.

6:20 hire a guy and have him bind weapons. Trade it to your thrower.

Would love a honor mode where each character (including main character) can die a maximum of 3 times and then become un-ressurectable. Items on the dead charcter would not be lootable and no hirelings lol.

Feels a little disingenuous to make all these builds a non honor mode play through and show that footage.

Making videos involves lots of reloading.
      Do you see the problem?

@@andybodle7560 I mean… just beat the game in honor mode with these builds in a party and then show the footage of that?

You're a streamer yourself, I take it, and know exactly what is involved in making and editing these things? @@theangriestcrusader

@@andybodle7560 You definitely don't. You know we can just look at each other's channels, right? You don't need to be so passive aggressive - just say what you think is wrong with that I've said and let me respond to that... If you DON'T then I think it's pretty self explanatory that you have no idea what you're talking about.
