Any pointers for fixing interviewers with an audio delay?

Hey there @TheWuPigPodcast! Unfortunately, FOR THE MOST PART, you can't do anything about it without getting into more complex audio routing. Is it always happening with a specific guest, or is it random with different guests?

I've had guests say that the video is on a slight delay from them? On my end it was fine and normal and I've also had issues with the guest video being choppy and the guests dropping out? So not sure if its a specific setting in Ecamm or the internet speed of my guests or me? Great tip on the zoom and pan to get both figures perfectly symmetrical.

When using Interview Mode, the guest view will always experience a slight delay happening when they see their video coming back to them. The reason why is because their video has to go from their camera, to you, get encoded, and come back to them. On your producer end, it'll all come in and look correctly. You'll simply have to let your guests know what to expect before you go live or hit record. Ecamm for Zoom does the same thing, and that's simply how the internet works. If their video is coming in to you choppy, there are a number of factors that could cause that, including your internet speed/quality, your Mac's ability to encode video fast enough, your guest's internet connection, their computer, their camera, etc. Make sure that you and your guests are always rebooting the computer before you start Ecamm and before they connect using Interview Mode. The guest should also make sure that when they are in Interview Mode, that they are using Chrome or Brave browser AND that they are keeping the Interview Mode tab ACTIVE (i.e. not looking at other apps or windows). Browsers reduce resource usage for tabs that are not active.

Have you tried using Ecamm for Zoom? If not, give it a shot and see if that resolves some of your video quality challenges. ruclips.net/video/auAcgcsUyJA/видео.html

@@danielchilive The only issue with this is the video resolution from zoom. I was using this as my interview software initially but I didn’t love how the 720p looked.

If you want to get 1080p on your Zoom, then I have a solution you will be interested in... www.danielchi.live/aice. I use Ecamm for Zoom for all my remote productions and guest interviews, and guests come in sharp as a tack when they have the right gear on their end.
