- Things feel like they are progressing fast! Hayden installs the roofing, making the tiny house kind of waterproof... kind of.
Then the back of the exterior utility cladding is oil stained and the interior wall lining is moved inside.
And we will have power soon! We now have the most insane looking generator and a decent sized solar kit to install in the near future.

Hayden...man of few words but many skills...
With a baby coming, it’s time to get on with it and not talk to the camera! Lol
What a great guy he’s a keeper 😆I hope you spoil him 💕
She does!
Wow nice genny Karen, now did they tell you about the "Silent " bit ....yep that label doesn't make any sound at all not a peep....were working on the motor.
That plywood they were putting inside looks real nice ,lovely grain.
Dont you worry about working too much just give us a big Karen smile once in a while .You stay safe and just let Hayden and the baby's half brother do the physical stuff just buy them a beer once in a while, they deserve it for the super job so far.
Cheers from Canada
Haha, still haven’t heard a peep from the label. I’ve got the generator tucked away to reduce the noice some more. Eventually it will get its own sound proof box.
Well done to the both of you on this massive project. Stay safe & bless you all & the coming birth of baby.🙏❤️
Thanks. Not long now till the baby arrives.
Hayden and son of Hayden make a good team, and he makes all of the construction look so straightforward. Thanks for keeping us abreast of progress Karen, it's exciting to see even at this distance!
Thanks David. I’m training my son well! 🤣
Hooray for the generator! It will make a big difference.
Yea, it’s great knowing it’s there when we need it.
Great workmanship from Haydon building you a lovely home..........Great camera work too Karen.........stay safe.......thanks for sharing
He deserves that generator after that roofing. He’s getting some nice toys now, am jealous. You look well as well which is great to see.
Aye Hayden put on the sheets of iron No Wind.
How lucky ,
Just like the Gene,
How lucky..
I’ll use the generator off site in my business too.
Hayden is an amazing chap - "awesome" as you said - and seem good with that younger version of himself.
Things are coming along.... great work from Hayden and Jack.
Take my hat off to you Haden 😊
Thanks Diane. Nice comment.
Shout out to Hayden for that big generator. There should be enough juice generated by that beast for all of baby’s needs 🛀 🔥. Good to see the Dad & son duo hard
at work. You have some good support there Karen. It’s all looking good 😌 & great to see the cabin taking shape👍
Yep, needed the generator to keep the solar topped up in winter. It was great seeing Jack wanting to help than just play games as he gets older.
Hayden is like a one man army.
It is satisfying looking at the final product knowing you’ve achieved it yourself.
@@haydenroberts7061 - I can only imagine 👍
Making the nest ready for baby, so exciting. Hope you are keeping well.
Yea, Karen is nesting.
Bloody brilliant, my dears! 😊 👍
Jack, you're marvellous! 😊 👍
All love, and best wishes, Claire, Berlin 😘 😘 😘 ✌
Hayden's a rock star!!! 😂
Great to see the progress and young Jack helping out! It really is starting to look like home!
You're a good boy, Jack!
He is great!
Dang I love that generator, looks big enough to power a small village. lol
Yea, no shortage of power here.
Wow what a roof. Smashing it 💪 well done. Cant wait for the next episode x
Cladding and windows in the next one.
The cabin looks bigger with a roof for some reason. I'm so excited for you too. Life is going to get a bit easier with proper power set up and a full sized room to hang out in! You won't know yourself. Like father like son - handy blokes to have around
I’m looking forward to the big room. I’m too tall for the caravan and hit my head often.
Good man Jack, lovely family budding there. Keep up the good work, all hands on deck! :)
Yep. Great to have Jack pitch in.
@@haydenroberts7061 Hopefully he was on the payroll that day. ;)
Good luck to you both with the wee one. Stay safe and well.🙏☀️🌻🇬🇧👶🙏
Thanks Funky. Will do.
You look really happy which is great to see.
Can I borrow Hayden. I have loads of jobs for him!? You are so fortunate to have found him! I want one! ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
Great watching Hayden at work. Calm cool collected professional
Thanks Nikhil
Exciting! Jack's a great helper! Yellow walls and a lime green generator 😂
Shadow cla
Shadow cladding they stained the inside face..ha ha ha inside out.
Generator made in Greenland.
Made in china 🇨🇳 might be a different color 🤔
Thanks. Jack’s been great. Especially in the next video.
Hi guy’s looking good , man of many talents great balance as well give that man a beer or two !
Or three! Lol
@@haydenroberts7061 would be rood not to enjoy mate.
Awesome progress! I can see your frustrations Karen from being sidelined but it will be over soon, good job using the camera phone, can't wait for the next installment.
Karen is still doing lots of work editing the videos. She wishes to be helping though.
I spotted a window, but I wont say a word. Excellent work Hayden an Jack. Hoping all the wood was discounted, Not sure I'm liking Hayden's 'workboots'. Nice work, 'stay safe', vertical an well.
Greg, hello, I am in EAST COAST USA, NOT SHURE why, but lumber here hit the roof, it’s up600%, on a typical single dwelling home, lumber has added US$ 68.00 to its cost. Cheers 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yes, I have business accounts that get me discounts on products.
It’s not every day I wear my air conditioned, quick release safety boots.
Staining the back and the front....good for you.....
What I love about the Oceania dudes is they are grafters ( hard workers ) well, compared to the British contenders. They don't scratch their heads for days going....oh, we can't do this, or that's going to be a problem.
Excellent work guys. Keep it going. X
That young man is so handsome. Good helping Jack!
i agree 👍
Good young man for doing his best to help 👏
i thought he was a 👧 at first glance 🤔
Thanks Ann. He was a great help as you’ll see in future videos.
what is it like to live life? can you tell me? I have schizophrenia and would like to be normal for at least a day, just to know what it is to be normal. sometimes I think about committing suicide, it is not worth living stuck in my own mind. I can't have a job, date, have my own family. it is not worth living like this.

Love the colour of your walls.
Now that's a generator!
I will be interested to hear about your solar set up. I know they have come a long way.
Solar set will be its own video soon.
Amen~!
I like the Generator.
I'm searching for info on the model etc..
Never seen that model before.
Happy spending.
That was a huge day sourcing materials
Fantastic 👏
Roof shout ha ha ha 😂
I just laughed 🍻 🤣

Going to Aucks will check out the whare house store in Henderson.
I went direct to the warehouse, lots of stuff and really nice lady.
Awesome thanks Hayden.

They have one sweet
Good on you Hayden your a dead set legend, thanks for giving dad a hand Jack well done mate. It's coming along well, the geny looks impressive, hope it turns out to be a really good thing for you guys. Seeya Rob..........I thought you would've put foiled insulation down on the roof before the tin and then put batts on the inside of the roof !!
It’s not a requirement here. But we have the maximum size insulation going in the ceiling.
How awesome getting a good power set up. I'll soon (I hope) be tackling setting up my power system in my van. But might have to pay someone. But I'll do as much as I can. Got my bed and half the kitchen area built. It's been fun nothing square but I'm happy with it.
Look at @adventurevanman for power set up, one or 2 videos ago, it was amazing!
Thanks Glen. Hope your build is going well.
Great job done on your home. Fabulous views. Yep ,Hayden needs a beer 🍺
I need lots! Lol

Hi Jim from South Jersey. It’s coming together nicely
loving Hayden's safety boots
Total fantastic. Quick release and air conditioned for hot days. Lol
Ye, so nice to see you again. God that you now have roof up! Now I am waiting for the windows (not windows verson 10.....)
Hi guys woohoo the whare (house) is coming along awesome mahi(work) Hayden. You know the saying. Do the mahi. Enjoy the treats . Karen not long now new home new baby. Enjoying life you two. Scenery sure is beautiful.😀😀
Not long now. It will be ready for the baby!
Ooh! That’s beginning to look great 😃
Thanks Mads
Im hanging to see more ❤
11:20 My baby's bigger than yours ;) Mine arrived on 8th June
Max output: 6.9 kW (although with my modifications, it'll be higher than this now !)
Rated output: 6.3 kW
Rated current: 26.4A*
But the biggest trick up its sleeve - is mine's 3 phase !
(* so the current figure is 3x 8.8A)
And the whole point of it - to run 3 phase equipment (and be a back up generator).
I'm working on the installation now - videoing that to go onto RUclips soon.
The man.s a beast.!!🍺🍺👍
Thanks Bernard
@@haydenroberts7061 I’m a plasterer over here and know all you’re process your going thru mate and the beauty of watching another tradesman is seeing how methodical and clean you work.👍👍
Plastering is definitely a skill trade. It’s why I chose to ply the walls and ceiling. I would have to sand to much! 😂
Wow really taking shape now 🤗
Thanks Juliet
Wooow ... man o man .. does nasa know one of there sattelights dropped outta the sky .. thats awesomewells ..😁pip pips and carryon pilgrims
No and don’t tell them. It’s handy to have! Lol

@@tanioraaura1274 with the sun view was not clear.
Karen & Hayden,,Hello, I see things are moving given your weather, tellHAYDEN,that I did put in the town he suggested, which DID come up, BUTit now displays as TAUMARUNIU, so I have no idea where that is to your location, but seen it rains daily,,if it’s any comfort to you,,is that we are COLDER,, as you @12;57pm is 18^C, we are. 11^C , also with rain, Mother’s Day was a washout!, anyhow ,
That generator I quite like 1 we bought after HURRICANE SANDY, we got it AFTER the power was off 6 days , ours is 7,5kw 1 cyl diesel , it’s NOT silent, but tolerant , good luck stay healthy, take care
🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸
Taumarunui is close enough for the weather, but we live just outside there.
There was a power cut in town the other day and we were fine and normal though.
Good job! I think you should get some sponsorship from Mitre 10, they've had some free advertising in the last few vids.
I got a free jersey from them the other day!
Hmm I wonder, Hayden’s power tools are always charged and your power is often running low.... 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣
Same what a laugh.
[Video] new tools.
Hayden charged them off inverter on a sunny day
Lol, no. I haven’t charged of Karen. Too many clouds lately and i think a problem with charging her batteries with the generator is on.
CHEERS
Can see that Hayden has done this before. Waiting to see the insulation going in. Electrical wiring or is that running surface?
Lots of insulation going in. Wiring going internal in the walls.
Its looking so good!!! Can’t wait to see it finished ☺️
Won’t be long now and you’ll get your wish. 😂
👏👏👏👏 looking great 😊
This is the first video of yours I have seen, so I know I do need to catch up but I'm curious why would you ever trade in your newer caravan for a vintage? It's a fun project but I can't imagine it being more comfortable?
Here in the United states we would have to have a layer of plywood under the roofing paper
I googled years ago and you guys have much better insulation in your roofs and walls than we do. In older houses we only have black paper on the framing before the outside walls go on. Freezing!!!
@Mark ply under roofing paper makes alot of structural sense.
However its an added expensive.
And we in NZ dont get same same winter az you would.
Tornado 🌪 cyclones 🌀 snow ❄ 😳
Golly gosh
I was thinking the same thing, but I guess they don't need it.
@@johninokla2635 cost probably as it is a very cold damp area in winter.
It’s not a requirement here to have ply in the roof but I’ve used ply for the ceiling to add extra strength.
Looking good
Thanks John
What size is this sleep out? 6x5?
You should lay the door on its side edge or its liable to bow with it being upright... just some old chippy advice..
I didn’t know that trick. Thanks.
Is Hayden building in flip-flops?
I call them quick release air conditioned safety boots. And I don’t wear them all the time! 😂
What kind of product is “mitreio trade”?
Mitre 10 Trade is a shop brand.
How old is Jack?
He is a teenager! Just.
Why stain the inside of the cladding
It’s the manufacturer recommendations to stain all sides including the edges and back since it’s used on the exterior.
YT had clearly forgotten about you Karen ! I've not seen a vid from you for months - so I've some catching up to do.
3:00 I'm pretty sure you don't need ear defenders on while bending metal - or is it to stop you nagging him ? ;)
I'm so surprised that it just paper and galvanize steel.....there's nothing else?
Real thin grade iron too.
Easy to dent.
However it has its benefits 😉
Bit like a thin pot.
Heats up fast.
I imagine the wool insulation in roof will keep them warm in winter cool 😎 in Summer👌
In roof is insulation between rafters
On the roof, yes. But insulation will go underneath from the inside.
