I first started watching your channel after seeing you on "cruising the cut" and you seemed a little cautious about things in the caravan and now your installing a full solar system I'm very impressed and can I book you in to install mine please 😁
WOW! Setting up your system was extremely clever. I'd go weak in the knees with all that electrical stuff. Hope you get as many KWh as you need when long winter nights approach. Well done you!
OMG! you can be SO proud of yourself Karen..... I know you're enjoying the 'fruit' of your hard labor with this house project. You've learned you can do just about anything! 💚
Congradulations, this definitely sounds like a fantastic power option. Great way to adapt the cabinet for the unit ventilation. That install was definitely a lot of work. Things you learn while installing these solar panels. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
ingenious design of your battery cabinet, with the batteries in the vertical plane and not the normal horizontal plane you find in the normal battery cabinets, pretty impressive well done from the UK :)
Wow K! You rock! I’m pleased it all went well and now your power is sorted! Congratulations and keep on building! My guess is you will be moving in to the garden soon! You’re an inspiration, doing what you can and getting help when you need it! I feel proud for you even though I don’t know you personally! Keep up the great work 🎉
I know you've loads to do but, if that was me with the battery storage area, I would go for a louvered door if you can so that airflow won't be a problem. Take care.
I'm a silent follower usually. But you are doing great. Keep on going, lady. You can do anything you put your mind to. Life definitely had a plan for you. You are killing it xx
Well done Karen, you are woman and we can all hear you roar. Fancy tackling your solar system installation and videoing at the same time. I am impressed. Keep going you are one step closer to finishing.
Amazing work Karen - awesome to see the Tui all set up and how awesome for you to have some serious power on the land now! Keen to see how you go with the experimenting - you've definitely got a lot more wiggle room than the old Bach Kit. Fresh bread every day this summer I reckon!
It's so lovely to see everything coming together for you and my gosh, you've got so many skills!! I need to put up a curtain rail this week and I'm panicking...I have a drill but we are not really on speaking terms yet hehe...you are inspiring me to be brave! So happy for you
Please don't take this the wrong way... I love watching you do stuff because, I reckon, if you can do it, I probably can too. Inspirational I guess. Thanks Karen.
You are a very versatile lady Karen well done on your know how and asking for help when needed. Carry on my girl see you in the next episode of Traveling K
Absolutely awesome setup. i really hope it keeps you going. A slight bit of jealousy here 😂 definitely keep us updated on the use ect of it. Looks easy to use.❤
@@TravellingK I haven't seen all the videos. Do you have an electric hot water tank? That is sort of a battery and somewhere to conveniently dump overproduction.
Look at you using those tools as good as any man!! 😂 I was the trench digger for my electrician hubby's business. He didn't pay me tho but I thought digging trenches was fun! 😂 go on....show us ya handyman!!! 😂😂😂
Omg you are installing yourself? Your are a super talented lady. I wouldn’t dream of it. Solar is really taking off here in Ireland. To reduce electric bills really. 10 panels with Hybrid Inverter costing on average €5000 post government grant. No batteries with that. Most household just sell bk excess to the grid. Large households probably do get batteries. I hv been quoted about 5 to include an Eddie water heater and 10 panel system. Selling bk to the grid I should hv very small bills. I should get advise from u.
You are doing a great job, I'm pleased that you now have power. How much you can load the system will depend on the inverter fitted to the system, which I think is 5kW in your case. You will be able to use most household appliances without any issue, it will be how many high power items you can use at the same time that will be the issue. Here in France we have 18 panels, a 10kW storage battery and a 5 kW inverter as well as the incoming mains. In normal, operation power from the PV panels charge the storage battery and when full it powers the house and/or it is exported back to the grid. At night we initially use the power stored in the battery before we use the grid power. If the house is demanding more than 5 kW, the power will come from the incoming grid power as well as the battery/pv panels. The house isn't limited to 5 kW. With your 15kW of battery storage and plenty of clear skies to keep them charged I'm sure you will be fine. I'm guessing there's an app that you can use to monitor your system on your phone.
That sounds like a fantastic system! I've been monitoring the inverter screen and so far been so impressed. Eventually I want to add a freezer and start using more power hungry appliances. Slowly add them and see. Its done great during this winter!

haha thank you!
So pleased for you, K! After all the upset, it's all coming together for you... you look a lot happier! 😃
You are certainly becoming a powerhouse solo parent and farmer! Definitely growing in skills and knowledge! Self reliance does that to people🎉
I am always impressed with your capability Karen!

Well done you!
I think I just focused on the steps in the manual to not feel overwhelmed? So far it's been amazing!
Don't sell yourself short, you are doing a fantastic job. Your electrical work is 2nd to none. Good job!
Thank you! Still feel like I just did the easy bits🤣

Wow, you are amazing! I would have been so overwhelmed with it all, but you figured it out and got it done. impressive!
The instruction manual made it seem manageable and the Tui kit definitely skipped lots of steps!

It was so so much cheaper than connecting to the power lines!
What an amazing solar power system, such an interesting vlog thanks x
Wow, another great piece of work completed……really well done. Am full of admiration for what you continue to achieve. God bless.
What an awesome kit, lithium is going to be a huge upgrade from your previous battery systems.
So far it's been amazing!
I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to you and to everyone that has helped you get this far !
Yes! I've so appreciated the help I've had!
Hi Karen!
Absolutely wonderful that you now have solar power!
Well done, my dear👍👍😘😘
Great to see it all starting to come together ❤
Well done, great job. Your determination and the effort you put in is to be applauded. Looking forward to watching moving forward.
The Beauty of doing as much of the work yourself is that you'll know alot more about your system, it's a great learning curve, awesome mahi

It really is a compact design!
I’m impressed Karen. You’ve done a great job. May you be able to use any electrical device want.🙂
I'm keen to test the limits!

Thanks Janie! I’ve managed to weed the strawberry patch and starting on the herb garden weeding now. Poor garden has been forgotten about!

Yep, we were advised to do that, it's an excellent idea.
Huh, interesting! I hadn't thought of that. I'll monitor the heat over summer.

So wonderful to hear this!!!
That is a gutsy job to take on. Not sure if I could do it.
That's an awsome kit. Totally inspiring seeing how much you did yourself 😊
Luckily the instructions were pretty clear!
Nice.😊
I don't think you're gonna have any issues with that.👍
Wow..pretty and handy with tools too!
Loving watching you set up your home. Sending lots of positivity from the UK!❤
Thank you!
A great job your wee house is coming good on you.
Awesome progress, what a lovely home you’re creating.💪🏻👍🏻
Congratulations! Continued success as you work on your build. Thank you.
Kudos to you for just hanging in there and getting on with what needed to be done,
Turns out I'm driven, haha
Amazing progress
Well done chick, brilliant job.

Fantastic job you are doing a wonderful job I wish I had half your skills.

you never cease to amaze me. great job!
Nice set up, well done.

Great video Karen, Thanks for sharing!
Great job! I’m very impressed!
Wow that awesome you have your solar set up now
Looked easy to install
Keep up the great work 👍😎
Found it easy enough! Think the end bit the electrician did was a bit more fiddly.
Great footage once again K. ❤
Thanks Garry!
Good on ya love, brilliant job there x
A huge weight of your shoulders, what a great system and well done for all your hard work figuring things out. Onwards and upwards 💜
Yeah, definitely needed power!
So proud of you, amazing job
Fabulous solar set up and impressive you did the majority of the install yourself. Wonder if they Tui delivers to the US?!!
Absolutely awesome setup. i really hope it keeps you going. A slight bit of jealousy here 😂 definitely keep us updated on the use ect of it. Looks easy to use.❤
Shall let you know how it goes!
Looking fantastic…
good job 👌
nice looking system,
Ground control to major mzz travelling k.. kooowee .. thats all very flash ..😍😎😁pip pips
Great job.
Ah, off-grid, cool system! I guess the only down side is you can't export to the grid. Maybe get an electric car to soak up all the power in summer? 🙂
Yeah, I’m getting so much power right now that I’m not using. I really am curious to try more power hungry appliances.
@@TravellingK I haven't seen all the videos. Do you have an electric hot water tank? That is sort of a battery and somewhere to conveniently dump overproduction.
great vid thanks lee
Ohhh i wonder if this is the perfect set up i could use and take to the Tonga house ?
Huh interesting!! What’s your power setup at the moment?
@@TravellingK We have power but power in tonga is real expensive
Yes you do need one of those hexagon drive impact drivers….theyre brilliant…..but my preference is the Milwaukee one…
It's curious the difference between the drivers.
Wow we should all get free electricity anyway 😮
Karen you are all over it.
Make sure you have an earth stake for the house.
:)
Yes! Electrician covered that!
You could grow tomatoes under the solar panels…
haha true!
You are amazing, I can change a light bulb and that's where I stop 😂.

I’m putting panels on the roof. Do u hv to clean them. We’ve been told no need 🙈
That seems like a great price! I know a few people in cities who have solar and sell excess to grid. So far I haven't felt like I need to clean them.
@@brec5879 yes you do have to clean them at least once a year or more. They work best that way.

You are doing a great job, I'm pleased that you now have power.

Here in France we have 18 panels, a 10kW storage battery and a 5 kW inverter as well as the incoming mains.
