@@Bud_Buddha I was also stumped at the notion of trying to do square roots - but what you gotta do is know that 169 is the square root of 13 and the square root of 144 is 12 - the difference between these two values is 25 - so divide 25 by 2 (= 12.5) and add that to 144 or subtract it from 169 and you get 156.5 - so with this, you at least know that 153 is less than 12.5, but also you know that 2.5 is 10% (0.1) of 25 - so if it was 154, then that's 12.4; 151.5 is 12.3; and 149 is 12.2 and etc. 154-153 = 1 ; 1 is 40% (2/5) of 2.5 - so 153 is 12.36 - the calculator says that the square root of 153 is 12.369... so the correct value is not as clear-cut as my theory. Also, I would have rioted if they did not accept Schlatt's answer.

I teach high school in FL and this is the way you have to handle grading. Everyone’s answer is technically correct… but wrong, incorrect use of words, misreading of the instructions, etc. point is that its almost right and they meltdown. So you have to always be careful. It’s is in fact quite hard especially now.
