The eye "tattoos" look so cool, but are SO high risk and aren't even technically a tattoo. It's a separate kind of body modification, and it's difficult to get, for a reason. So dangerous.

I worked in high-end retail before I went back to uni, and there was a lovely couple that used to come in pretty regularly, and they owned a tattoo studio in the area and were both covered in tattoos. I was the only person that ever served them and everyone else basically used to run away or pretend to be busy. They were SO nice (and I got so much commission!). If i wasn't in they would just leave and they used to ask which days I would be in so they could have someone nice!

It's true what you say about modified people wanting to fit in when we're younger. I was that way through until just a few years ago. Piercings were always beautiful to me. I wanted to get my eyebrow done in high school but knew better than to ask my parents. By college I had 3 lobe piercings and it stayed that way until I was 39. In the span of 2 years I've gone from 6 to 15 piercings including 2 facial piercings. Not everyone in my family likes them but it's so liberating to finally have something that makes me feel confident enough to be ok standing out for having more piercings than most people my age. And I'm not even close to being done. It makes me feel beautiful. Why would anyone want to keep someone from feeling their most beautiful?

Maybe don't take him to the fanciest restaurant still, since his eyes were inked and the stretched ears are so visible, but at least let him have a feel of walking down the street or something, just for fun? :)
I want to get quite heavily tattooed and I always thought I'd do my hands and neck, but the older I get the more I like the ability to go out in public with no tattoos visible... Still haven't decided though! I'll probably do hands, but I think I've decided my face and neck is my "no tattoo zone"

I do recognize that anyone can look a certain way and be bad or good but it’s just a little off putting watching movies with these big scary bikers who hurt people when where I live they’re often the ones protecting people at pride parades or at protests. However, mainly older people love to just stare at them when I have my hair pulled back to the point where I’m uncomfortable because even when I stare back and make it known that I know they’re staring, they still don’t look away. One lady even continued staring me down while I passing and made a show of stepping even farther away from me. Like ma’am, you made me clutch my purse tighter too and walk faster. Lol

It could have been interesting if they'd done a photoshop job on Ethan and whited his eyes tattoos out and reverted his ears to something closer to normal. I was at least expecting some different style clothes too, like a short sleeve button up shirt or something.
As for Jody, she looked so uncomfortable, bless her, it really didn't suit her but I don't know how much of that was the choice of dress (I'm sorry but it was a hideous dress). And she coudnhave had girlie clothes and themnlooked at least in line with her black aesthetic...but then I guess the idea was to step all the way out of your comfort zone. I just think if youxre gonna do it try more than one outfit, y'know.
The hair was too heavy for her face, didn't suit her at all, it needed something simpler and straight, like a Bob or wolf cut or something. Something funky fresh and modern, instead of dressing her like a 40 year old middle class housewife. I doing these transformations interesting though.
My nibbling started getting tattoos a 18 and is 20 now, they have both lower legs done and a few on their arm. I lost count of how many there are altogether, but one leg is for studio gibli characters, not sure the other one random fave anime characters maybe. I suggested they slow now and they said that they have...they're only getting them every couple of months now lol.

The before and after shots, especially the gal at the end remind me how looking at pictures of me before and after transition. I went through a phase in high school where I tried "fixing" myself by trying to be as girly as possible. Spoiler, not only did it not work but I horrible at it. I always looked like a failed drag Queen. 😅 Seeing before and after shots like that really puts things into perspective.

No hate intented here, but I’m kinda against those series (I watched a few) And seeing someone getting stripped out of their personalities, getting their tattoos covered to look like « Oh look they are « normal » now! Don’t they look « lovely »? I’m quite against it... just a personal opinion. I love myself in my tattoos/piercings and won’t cover them even for a small TV show. xxx

I feel like it’s easier if you think of it as putting on a costume because it’s like you are dressing up to fit the character that is an alternate reality version of you, kind of.

truly like where is the FUNDING sir 😂 I wonder did he have any arrangements with artists to model for them or sit in at conventions. I've heard of people getting cheaper or free tattoos a few times, because they basically volunteered as a canvas for an artist or a studio, and came to conventions with them, modelled for the apparel, etc.

I know eye tattooing is really dangerous but ive had a catoract since kindergarten and an astigmatism in the other eye so ive got horrible vision. I find it interesting u think about it as risking ur eyesight further (which is absolutely valid) while i think of it as "im probably gonna go blind anyway, fuck it". Just the different thought process is interesting to me. Idk y lol

I went to a new school for one year when I moved and I was in 3rd grade. I remember another student in 5th grade there that wore tapers in his ears. They were big too, at the time I remember wondering if it hurt his ears to be weighed down like that. Thinking about it now it's insane that he was 11 with at least 0g tapers. (Also, I don't have stretched ears but I've been told not to wear your tapers. Those are specifically intended for the stretching process. Please wear tunnels or plugs instead!!)

i come from a multicultural household and in a few of them 11 is actually a bit late to start body modification, even ear stretching. :) it's always so interesting to see westerners shocked by young people treating their bodies as canvases. (not you specifically, Treacle.) as long as parents don't force it and the children know that reversing the effects is more difficult than starting them (also as long as the family can afford it/they're responsible enough to maintain the aftercare etc) it's all good

5:46 I think it is a generational thing, because (I’m 21) when I was in elementary school there were two different kids who had gauges by the fourth grade (about 10ish). It definitely wasn’t common, as I live in a really conservative state so most kids aren’t even allowed love piercings until they’re teenagers, but there were kids who had body mods from a young age.

How is that "bimbo" gear? The pink dress someone would wear to church is considered bimbo?? You act like they put her in a latex dress up to her ass. Does bimbo mean something different now? 😂😂
