We thinking about selling the ole 06 379 it’s been a real fantastic truck. We don’t need 3 rotators.
We had a new 1986 with 11 miles on it freightliner with small engine and 10 seed, then a new Volvo with 10 miles and took it 16000 got read of for the head light keep going up and down at night they 100 or that they had to fix them we got a older one we keep it until they made us give it it had about 200000 on it. I am from Eastern Europe and have never seen trucks like this in the real live. The American trucks are much cooler than the Russian, except ZIL- 130, which is legendary.
Any tips for shifting up from a dead stop loaded on a steep hill with a 13 speed? Smash the gears, start in a higher gear or ride it out in lo all the way up?
Definitely going to want to start in a low gear, and with a 13 you’ll probably have to way over rev the first couple gears to get enough momentum to make the first couple gear shifts. Nothing wrong with just holding the gear going up the slope when you start from a dead stop
It takes guts to drive tractor trailers. I only have a class B and drive a tandem bobtail truck. I’m only 36 and been offered to get my class A payed for. Don’t have the guts to do it but awesome videos.
It's a mechanical or electronic controlled actuator that opens the exhaust valves, therefore not allowing an compression to happen and slowing down the rotation of the pistons.
I'll alway's love the sound of a cat, but I've never been impressed with the performance. Respect for not running the jakes in the residential like lots of super truckers do, give us all a bad name. I'm lucky that my pete's ISX15 is quiet enough I could get away with it if I really wanted to.

Colorado is strict about mufflers with the Jake brake, many small towns and cities restrict Jake's but the modern trucks with emissions technology have little to no Jake brake noise
4 wheelers dont give a shit about anyone other than themselves! They sure are ignorant around trucks. Ive always thought that non cdl people should have to watch videos on big rigs and how to properly drive around them and what Not to do so they get a better understanding of what us truckers have to put up with. I haul 164,000 lb side dump trains locally in upper MI and people have absolutley no respect for that much weight rolling down the road. Would be sweet owning my own rig, especially a Pete and a truck with a long hood.
I know the area of the top of the hill around 7:40 well. I get it suck to stop however if a car going that far in front of you bothers you that much on such a small hill PLEASE never drive in the mountain or bc
This may be a dumb question. But are you checking your mirrors so frequently (ex. 0:45-0:50) to see if anyone is trying to pass you on the left? Or is it to check the trailers position in the lane?
Ahaha that spot was just checking out what’s going on on the 401 as I passed over top of it! But yeah around corners and stuff for sure I’m watching the mirrors for everything.
Ya its deffently a tough one especially when the lights and cars do not cooperate with you. I dont haul train weight but we do haul heavy the truck I drive is good for 40 tonne. If I remember correct trains are good for a kax of 43. Also there lighter.

Dope truck bro, ur a beast
the engine sound with the turbo is beautiful
It’s tough at times but a great gig, thanks man!
This looks like somewhere in Ontario, Kitchener or waterloo area
Cambridge, ON
Nice driving!
where is this bro, BC??
Why the too long gearstick?
Cool video 🤓
What do you mean no engine brakes? Can you explain a little more please.
Engine brakes are very noisy so in most residential areas they prohibit the use of engine brakes
It's a mechanical or electronic controlled actuator that opens the exhaust valves, therefore not allowing an compression to happen and slowing down the rotation of the pistons.
motor sounds sweet
Jamaul Browne thanks man 🤘
There was a hill? JK cool video. Nice to see someone that can shift.
Great video, what do you do when your stuck in a hill ?
I'll alway's love the sound of a cat, but I've never been impressed with the performance. Respect for not running the jakes in the residential like lots of super truckers do, give us all a bad name. I'm lucky that my pete's ISX15 is quiet enough I could get away with it if I really wanted to.
Damn Troy, you just love bagging on other drivers. We get it, you are a professional gearjammer.
That’s a truck!
Where is this ?
Cambridge, ON, Canada
@@callthemall I called my trucker brother and asked him it all looks familiar to me but had a brain cramp. 519 for life son. Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!
You're allowed to use engine breaks if muffled btw
Colorado is strict about mufflers with the Jake brake, many small towns and cities restrict Jake's but the modern trucks with emissions technology have little to no Jake brake noise
TheRoadhammer379 I’m an otr trucker too. I’m well aware lol. But if you have muffled Jakes those signs don’t typically apply to you
ThAt turbo it’s awesome
Beautiful 😎
🤟🤟
Keep up the POV
You can feel the weight in this video
4 wheelers dont give a shit about anyone other than themselves! They sure are ignorant around trucks. Ive always thought that non cdl people should have to watch videos on big rigs and how to properly drive around them and what Not to do so they get a better understanding of what us truckers have to put up with. I haul 164,000 lb side dump trains locally in upper MI and people have absolutley no respect for that much weight rolling down the road. Would be sweet owning my own rig, especially a Pete and a truck with a long hood.
How long have you been driving? I’m off to trucker school in four days. Super stoked to get out on the road
I’ve been at it for five years. You’ll enjoy it for sure! Are you looking for long haul or something local?
@@callthemall Gonna be doing long haul with my buddy!
Chris Pape nice! You’ll have plenty of different experiences on the big roads, lots of stories to tell your friends
I've heard a lot of drivers say they never use the clutch when shifting. Do you use yours if not why not?
Nope! Because it goes into gear just fine without it and it saves repetitive strain on your left knee
@@callthemall and tricks of the trade for a rookie skateboarder such as myself??
I know the area of the top of the hill around 7:40 well. I get it suck to stop however if a car going that far in front of you bothers you that much on such a small hill PLEASE never drive in the mountain or bc
More jake action required. 👌😉
If I where you I extend the shifter to the roof. Haa
I would stand up to shift halves or switch range :P
Beauty
Hey that's by cambridge I get loaded at the P and H there all the time I hate that hill
Yeah haha I always avoid that hill when loaded, Its great coming down empty as it’s the quickest route, but I always go a different way once loaded
Ya its deffently a tough one especially when the lights and cars do not cooperate with you. I dont haul train weight but we do haul heavy the truck I drive is good for 40 tonne. If I remember correct trains are good for a kax of 43. Also there lighter.
I hate shifting out of low to first pulling heavy on a big hill I’ll be first to admit sometimes it isn’t the smoothest
Yeah for sure it’s a big gap, helps to have an 18 speed and you can use the splitter between low and first, it helps a lot
