I have never downloaded a work app to my phone. When my work day is over for my "9 to 5," it is over. I work on my personal projects after my day job. Once I build it, that may be when I have issues turning that off. Dressing the part is definitely my goal for 2024.

Great video, however I think it leaves out the reality that not all people are “glamorizing wfh” rather it’s people with disabilities who benefit from wfh, neurodivergent people, lack of affordable healthcare amongst other factors.

Ideally, a more equitable hybrid option would be great, but of course not all companies will do that.

A lot of these issues aren't inherent to "wfh jobs" but more your one's own personal agency regarding how they manage their lives.

I think the biggest part of this is one’s own ability to self-regulate and turn things off or on when appropriate. Wfh has worked wonders for some of my friends while others hated it.
Definitely one of those “to each their own” kind of situations.
It’s also a bit of a “the grass is always greener” type situation. People who work full time in an office daydream about wfh and full time wfh dream of having an office to go to.

As someone who is now disable and alone wfh was the only way i could support myself and work on and maintain my health. Also i often work despite flairs and its good that my commute is 2.7 seconds to my bed if needed. it's definitely a to each their own thing and I'm also an introvert so there's that too. for me, wfh gave me back a little path to life and self sufficiently. i do often feel like i'm missing out on making connections but the issue for that is more my health than my job because i used to have hobbies in the outside world. I hope to find that balance again in the next few years.

I prefer wfh, I'm just the type of person who can thrive from it.

Great vid angel ❤ It really depends on the type of person you are I definitely do think that WFH can blur the lines from work day and your days off happens to me 😂 burnout is a real issue I would say for people who wfh also

I've been working from home ever since the last quarter of 2019. I don't wish to go back to the office, i tried going back to the office last year and regretted it, now I'm working at home again. I live in a country where it takes about 3 hours to go to a business-centric area where people usually work, then you go home expecting to be home after 3 hours ended up dealing with traffic that will make you travel for at least 5 hours in total. Yeah, i do not want to go back to the office. I just make sure that i keep myself as healthy mentally and physically while working remote, and that means making sure when my 9-5 ends that means my work life ends, that's it.

Great points, WFH is cool but you miss out on networking in person

During covid, I worked from home and loved it. Wish I could go back to that.

I have a separate cellphone for work related stuff. I don't want people calling me on my personal phone.

Thank you so much for this video! I feel like the 'glamour' of wfh are very well known and as a wfh girlie, I appreciate the flexibility and saved commute time. However, in addition to the isolation, burnout, blurred lines between personal and work time/space, there is more onus put on you as the employee. I had to purchase all wfh equipment and work station, pay to upgrade my internet, and am constantly looking for distraction free places. I live in an expensive city and cannot dedicate a singular room to be my 'office'. I once lived in an unfinished house and had to take all my meetings in the library parking lot (closed for COVID) or the floor. I loved wfh and am aware I'm lucky but that shouldn't discount that it's not always a glamorous experience and there should be space to express that too.

🔥 What I do after my 9 to 5 wfh job is to turn off my job's phone bcuz the company is paying me only for 8 h of work so I'm just available during those hours 😉
