But at the same time, from the moment I entered the option, I get the premium? (Bare in mind, I have 1K USD but 0 BTC in the account) Just trying to see what happens in this case and how we get the premium?

Another great strategy to buy bitcoin is to sell cash secured puts, this way you get paid a premium to buy bitcoin at a price that you consider low enough. One detail to Deribit, they do cash settlement, but automatically concert to btc, so you never have usd on deribit.

Question: I thought the time until expiration WAS the time between spot and strike. But you say the premium increases if: the time to expiration was longer, AND if the spot is closer to the strike, implying they are two different measurements.

For call options in ledgerx, you mentioned they are paid in bitcoin. So lets say I paid premium of $5k (100 contracts, underlying 1 BTC), strike price of $100k. If exercised price is $150k, does that mean I make (150k-100k-premium in BTC)? So I don't make the underlying whole bitcoin but the difference in ($45k) bitcoin, whatever it is worth at the time option is exercised or time when contract was bought?
Yes, you make the amount of spot minus strike price assuming spot is higher and you bought 1 whole bitcoin. If you bought less or more multiply this amount to get the $ earned.
Great breakdown, makes a lot of sense! Would love to see a video on @foxifytrade - they have an options platform in beta rn that's decentralised, so you don't have the same solvency risk of centralised platforms like FTX etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how they hold up for options traders, I've been having fun but you definitely have a lot more experience :)
