My ifi has limitations on the amp department that's why I mainly use it to drive iem and efficient headphones and leave the heavy lifting to the class A amp....
I believe this product’s main function is as a DAC (Swiss Army DAC, if you will.) Not exactly a fair comparison, but it may hold its own in a shootout against your Chord DAC.
I don't see it on this device, either. Unless it's in a menu somewhere. I'll give some additional thoughts in the next livestream. I think late Friday, 4-ish PST.
@@DirectorsGarage I wouldn't waste time looking. It would be a button on the front if it had X-Bass like the iFi Pro iCAN Signature has. It's a puzzling omission like with the Diablo/Diablo II removing X-Bass and other Tone controls. iFi offerings initially get you all excited, until you notice that they left out an essential feature that made everyone like iFi in the first place 🤷🏻
I think they have a great reputation and I’ve been happy with their products for years. 1 slip up with the Diablo doesn’t mean anything. The hip Dac 3 will be a beast for the price.
It actually challenges products at much lower price points, and our director was honest about that. It's selling point is all the features, but it's still a seriously overpriced item.
@JTB-- Any other recommendations(currently using ican pro signature) Currently testing out the empyrean 2 for now, maybe others in the future. Just wondering if there are other options that basically achieves the same performance etc.
When I need to feel good I watch your videos. You are great!

Good stuff director
X-BASS is one of the major draws to the iFi products. It actually works well. Don't understand why they removed it from the Diablo and Diablo II

Maybe bad timing with an iFi product given the Diablo II controversy and their current reputation...
Whats the controversy? Im out of the loop
@@krisrudecki9477 They lie about power output on their amplifiers. Do some searches.
@@krisrudecki9477 I'm not 100% sure but I think it has to do with the Diablo and Diablo II not having the Power that iFi claims it has

look forward to comparisons with this bad boy that supposedly can challenge gear at higher price points...

Tried iFi Pro iCAN Signature in 2022 and it was good but not worth the $2249 asking price. I returned it. The high end iFi stuff is overpriced

Ha3 outdated stuff... At least phantom or diablo2 or even new burson soloist voyager.. Anyway, Njoy it... Peace!
My Phantom was cheaper than this.
Although, to be fair, my remote controller is faulty. :(
