Welcome to the HF rabbit hole. This group is phenomenally talented and has a whole range of covers and originals. The won the SingOff in 2013. The guy who started out this song, Austin Brown, is from Tifton GA. This year he went solo, Replaced by Adam Bell-Bastien who is part of OneUp Duo. Austin and the bearded guy, Rob Lundquist, from Mankato MN, recorded an operatic song a few years ago. The guy with cowboy hat, baritone Chris Rupp and brother Adam Rupp (beatboxer), also from Mankato, started the group in 2021. Chris moved on in 2016 to form Cypress Fire trio. He was replaced by Adam Chance, from the gulf of Alabama, now living in LA, who put together the Sea Shanty Medley that went viral during pandemic. The 5-octive bass, Tim Foust, is from Southeast Texas. This is a surprising first song to view. Most folks first see Man of Constant Sorrow, Ring of Fire, End of the Road by Backstreet Boys, the list goes on and on. Enjoy the ride with Home Free and their fans, the Home Fries, will enjoy with you!
Couple of small corrections - Home Free was founded in 2001, Rob is from either Brooklyn Park or Brooklyn Center (I forget which, both Northern suburbs of Minneapolis) and End of the Road is a Boyz II Men song.
Rob Lunquist is from Brooklyn Park MN. He still lives in the Minneapolis metro, as well as Adam Rupp. Foust, Brown, & Bastien live in the Nashville TN area. Chris Rupp now lives in Florida and is the a capella trio Cypress Fyre.
@ - Rob lives in Apple Valley, where I live. I’m also about 5 miles from Adam Rupp, and 10 miles or so from Darren Rust’s home/studio. Still waiting to run into one of them at Fleet Farm or Menards.
Small correction. Between leaving Home Free and joining Cypress Fyre Chris Rupp was in a group called 7th Ave with his sister Tristin Rupp and Adam Bastien, aka Adam Bell-Bastien. The 4th member of the group switched off between a lady named Kelley Jakle and Adam's husband (and one-half of their later pairing OneUp, aka OneUpDuo) Jerome Bell-Bastien. I love their version of Uptown Funk. Chris also has a lot of solo songs, mainly christian hymns.
Home Free will always make you feel better - unless they make you cry. Which they absolutely can do. For something more serious from them, try their version of How Great Thou Art. Home Free has been around in various formats since the early 2000s. In 2013 they won the TV contest show The Sing-Off with this lineup. The band was founded in Mankato, Minnesota, by Chris and Adam Rupp - Chris is the guy in the cowboy hat and Adam is the beatboxer. The "guy with the beard" is Rob Lundquist. The high tenor is Austin Brown (he recently left the band to go solo). The bass is Tim Foust. Chris left in 2016 to pursue other projects and was replaced by Adam Chance. Austin was replaced by Adam Bastien earlier this year. As for where they're from, in addition to the Rupps, Rob is also from Minnesota. Austin is from Georgia and Tim is from Texas, although they both live in Nashville now. They have a very large and diverse catalog. Everything from country to pop to rock to sacred to R&B. Things that will make you roar with laughter and things that will bring you to tears. You really can't go wrong with anything they've done. My recommendations for a next dive would be Stand By Me, Listen to the Music (which highlights Adam Rupp) or an original called Playing With Fire. They also have my absolute favorite arrangement of the Christmas song Do You Hear What I Hear which was arranged by Adam Rupp. Just jump in anywhere. Enjoy the party!
Love Home Free so very much! Enjoy this adventure! Thanks for the Home Free reactions! ( for another fun and fantastic medley you might enjoy their " Country Fried Pop Medley ").
The big guy with the beard is Rob. The group was formed in Minnesota, But now all of the current members except 2 of them live in different states. The thin one in this video is Austin and he is from Tifton Georgia. He just recently left the group though to go solo, but He was with them and touring for 10 years. The others are originallyfrom Texas, Alabama, so they have that southern vibe about them. They went on an acapella show called "The Sing Off" (sort of like AGT or The Voice with judges) and won the 4th season of that and they have compiled a number of fans and views on their many videos.
Home Free is an amazing group! AMAZING!!! Please react to more of their videos! My favorite is "Man of constant sorrow". Adam Rupp, their percussionist, is an absolute BEAST... especially in that song. This remix only shows off a tiny bit of his talent.
Fans of Home Free are called Home Fries! We are a very fierce and loyal fan base! If you react to more Home Free the fries will up your sub count guaranteed! Love your channel and reactions! I suggest rewatching this video. There are so many little things you missed as most people do the first time!
Home Free, Voiceplay and Pentatonix, the big three of acapella. Amazing groups, but Geoff Castellucci of Voiceplay released an epic version of Carol of the Bells a few days ago. It will leave you on the floor curled up in the fetal position because he just ripped your soul from your body.
This group can make you laugh and then make you cry, they do all things and all kinds of songs. The bass is Tim Foust (originally from Texas), the beatboxer is Adam Rupp (Minnesota) the big guy with the beard is Rob Lundquist (Minnesota) the high tenor is Austin Brown (originally from Georgia) and the guy in the cowboy hat is the founder of the group (Minnesota) Chris Rupp. As of now Chris Rupp and Austin Brown has left the group, and the new members are Adam Chance and Adam Bastien
Everyone has their favorites, but honestly they don't have any duds anywhere. So you can't go wrong with whatever you pick. Also thanks for picking up my day. It's always a delight to see someone really enjoy the same music I'm digging. ;-) Also, Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is clearly an alien who just swallowed every percussion instrument known to man... and a harmonica.
Was so fun sharing the laughter with you, thanks for taking on my request. I showed this to my dad when he was 85 and he almost died laughing...he survived though and is now 94. It's a memory of joy between us. Lots of HOGfam love Home Free. ♥
Love those goofy boys! They are super talented and the beatboxer is crazy good. The guy in overalls is Beugs who’s a good friend of Rob’s (sunglasses). They can be super silly but also serious. Super talented boys! Good one Teddy!
This is such a fun mashup of songs. Very cleverly done from one song to another. The talent these guys have is phenomenal. They have so much fun but the vocals never suffer. And Adam's beatboxing is on another level. Home Free was very respectful in this video about not exploiting or offending any women.
Love the reaction! Welcome to the world of aA Capella… you have got to check out Pentatonix and my person favorite Voiceplay!!!! You will be AMAZED by all of them!!!!
Thanks for this reaction! If you react to #HomeFree, the Home Fries will find your channel. We are a passionate group of fans. The Home Free catalog of music is huge and ranges from heartbreakingly beautiful to these sorts of shenanigans. ❤ They are even better live. Seriously.
I agree. I've only been to two of their concerts but thanks to their sound guys, they were the best sounding concerts. Every word sung comes out clean and clear and balanced.
Just subscribed, love your reaction. Laughing and swinging to the beat, you're gonna be doing that a lot with this group. Although they can also punch you in the heart and bring tears to your eyes. Like Brothers in Arms.
I'm a 71 year old Home Fry Nana from the UK. I'm here with you for your HF journey. May I suggest Sea Shanty Medley LIVE and amazing grace and send of the Road. WOW are you in for a wild ride. Merry Christmas from UK. Nana Karen UK
Fairly new to the channel. I love me some Home Free. Got to see them live back in 2019. This song will forever be one of my favs from them 😆 They are truly amazing.
Love Home Free. Currently 2 are from Minnesota, 1 from Texas, one from Alabama and I don't know where the new guy is from. Austin who recently left was from Georgia. You should check out their cover of Do You Hear What I Hear? for Christmas season. The beatboxer Adam did the arrangement and it's awesome. They have lots of other great songs both covers and originals.
They are extremely flexible on what they do, even did BTM end of the road where I fell in love with them. They'll make you laugh, cry, gasp, and so much more... love these guys. You're reaction was priceless...😂😂
There is also a video you can watch where the Beatboxer, prove who good he is and for them who is not believing, it's a live and superb 💞💞💞💞Thanks for your reaction, Teddy 👏🏽👏🏽🤶🏽🤶🏽
Who are they? Just the best a capella group I've heard! Okay, it's just my opinion. There are other great groups, but Home Free just has something special about them, even with changes in group members. And how many five man groups do you know have three members named Adam? And they have 4 or 5 tenors, 3 or 4 baritones, and at least 2 bass singers. (I've lost track of the number of vocal range cross-overs in the group.)
OMG! My daughter used to tend bar at that club, but other than that welcome to a mystical, wonderful world known as the home fries. Please dig deeper into these guys, I promise you you will be amazed and also HOOKED.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. One recommendation : no matter which song you listen to, do so with headphones to truly appreciate them. Especially the bass.
Their singing is great but then you have to remember that they have a whole other job going on simultaneously with the ‘making the music’ part. They all seem to really get along and love each other. Both times when they have lost members to go solo there doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings. Any one of them can and do sing lead and anyone can be ‘just a background sound’.
Incidentally, they can alll beatbox - not to Adam Rupp's extent of course (see "9-5 + beatboxing breakdown" & "Joy to the World Hosannah" - both are live videos). However, you may NOT watch "Mayday Live" until you've seen at least 7 more of their videos.

Home free is great but you have to try anything that strikes you in Voiceplay's list. They're also a cappella (out of Orlando) and are considered the "theater kids of a cappella ".
Bro, you gotta check out their rendition of, How Great Thou Art! It’s literally amazing! You also are familiar with Boys to men, I’m sure. They do a fantastic rendition of,End of the road. ✌🏻
Home Free is one of several acapella groups just blazing New Horizons through the music world. This isn't the best introduction to Home Free only because you haven't yet gotten a sense of who they are. I see that you have reacted to them after this. Home Free has a More Country slant. They are the more pop of the acapella groups. Voice play to fourth place on the season home free one and they are considered the musical theater kids of the acapella groups. For all these groups wherever their band goes they follow. Please please please check out their remix of Boyz to Men End of the Road. It will blow your mind. Listen and love 3 songs and you will officially be a Home Fry!!!
I watch your reactions because I love them but its weird because I will go on your page and click "videos" most of them aren't on there 😢 i just happen to come across them. If you like Home Free then you will definitely LOVE Penatonix....any song by them out weighs Home Free.... especially "The Prayer" i dedicate to my brother that passed 😢. I know you take donations but unfortunately I can't do that with 2 disabled children....i will keep looking out for all the ones I've requested though ❤
It's not some of the instruments made using their mouth it's all of the instruments used with the mouth. Plus any body perk. This is not your mother's acapella. There's also Pentatonix voice play and quickly up-and-coming bass gang. This is a rabbit hole you definitely want to get lost in and yes he was doing the harmonica all with his mouth
My FAVORITE A-Capella Group today! Pure perfection in EVERY genre!! 🥰🎶🔥
I was introduced to #Homefree song that was a cover of BOYZ TO MEN.
End of the Road.
They slayed that song. You have to hear it ❤.
