I just love how NPCs with instruments will just join you out of the blue. I decided to start playing my flute in the goblin camp and one goblin just pulled out a drum to play music with me.
I played my lute there and then suddenly they Gobs joined with a drum an flute! They don't seem to do that for every song though only with three of them.
The main theme is such an earworm that both the player and the characters of the game have it playing rent free in their heads. The tadpole is nothing compared to this actual earworm
Well, both ''The Power'' and ''Down by the River'' are both songs based on the Original Guardian. Nessie, who was cut out of the game sadly. There was even an ending entirely based on ''Down by the River'' where you chose to forever sleep in a dream down by the river with Nessie, while your body underwent full ceremorphosis.
I made a bard character as a tribute to my late mum who was a musician. My mum and my uncle were in a band together in their youth. Gale reminds me of my uncle so I had him gain proficiency from Alfira so he could jam with my Tav. I like watching Tav and Gale play together and thinking of my mum and uncle’s younger days.
I had thought whistling was unique to Volo, but I found out recently if you have musical proficiency and no instrument equipped, you're instrument is also whistling.
One of the coolest and most underrated parts of the game is how seamlessly this works. I love playing bard and just walking up to a performer, seeing what song they're playing, and joining in.
On my first playthrough, I was a dragonborn who had gone the whole journey never seeing another of his kind even once. I get to act 3, and behold, the very first dragonborn I see is a bard performing in front of a crowd. Without hesitation I whipped out my flute and joined in on the song he was playing.
The game almost made me cry 3 times and one of them was when my resisting Durge dragonborn who had been through so much shit got to Act 3 and played music with a fellow dragonborn. I tried every instrument and probably spent half an hour just listening :')
Fun fact, you can actually get a mod to add companions and add 6 cleric/bard companions with sanctuary on each other during battles, and here is your portable band
idk why but like... a violin just suits him so well. Like that should be written into his character arc. In his spare time in between getting victims for Cazador, he took up the violin haha

I think it will be very awesome. Yet there are a lot of damn worthy titles those days. I'm currently in the clutches and fangs of *'V Rising'* again after the Gloomrot DLC came out for example.
Oh how I wish they took the “performer” feat out of leveling system and instead made it a reward after a series of quests. It’s too wonderful to be in that competition!😢
If you help Alfria finish her song by playing the second lute AND pass two Performance checks, you gain the musical instrument proficiency. It's not the full performer feat (no stat boost) but it still lets you play instruments.

I really love that this game seems to be having the same sort of vibes with people that the first game had on me as a 10 year old kid... The game in many ways inspired me to get into reading.... which in turn had a profound effect that would reverberate for decades.... So glad to see everyone enjoying this masterpiece.
@@selfdescedgelord7699i have 180hours with the party limit be gone mod, only things that gets buggy are long rests (you have to reduce party size to 4) and a specific area that requires getting on a boat (also need to reduce to 4) aside from thoes, works great
@@JnEricsonx sometimes when long resting one of you party members wont sleep therefore bugging the game you have to kick them out and reinvite them allways breaks my heart because its karlach and she sounds so sad every time

Hey, I've noticed that if you have two lute players, one will act as the -bass- _rhythm_ guitarist and the other one as the lead! Now, the question is how to add the 7th band member without using the "remove party limits" mod or whatever it's called. 🤔 (Edit: grammar and misnomer)
I roleplay a Drow Palladin with my multiplayer group. I did the Quest with Alfira and i learned the perfom action and got the guit. Yesterday, someone started a fight with a group of mercenaries and guard. We are lvl 4. They were lvl 6. It didny look good. We were unlucky. To boost uo morale, i started performing after my actions. (There is no game bonus. Just the cool factor ) I was playing while thry attempted to shoot arrows. They ALL missed. It became a meme. I kept doing it. We did win the fight agaisnt all odds. Well, i am the unofficial bard of my group. Lol I'm also a singer. So i sing on mic and whistle witouth even noticing. Thry are cool because they never complained. I love my team!! This game is amazing!
Because of this game, the new generation will see instruments on a different perspective, it will teach them how awesome it is knowing how to play an instrument, let alone having friends to play with you
I kind of remember a dream last night... the dream has nothing to do with BG3 except 2 things... one choice in the dream was made with a roll20 ... the second is... there was this music in the background.
I wound up having to find a guide on how to save Alfira. It just wasn't right that you couldn't get her to leave via dialogue. I had to use non lethal mode to knock her out. They replace Alfira with a dragonborn bard for that murder scene.
I did this too, before watching this video. I could say it sounds so much better than the original background theme. I still searching for a party of bards lol. doesn't seems to have many who will be playing as 4 bards 4 different streamer or discord streamer and complete the game together.

You can pick up instruments along the way. I started with a Violin and immediately grabbed a Lute from a barrel just after the ship crashed.

I don't think you need mods for this when Volo is in your camp. You have 6 people, no mods needed. Everyone does need music proficiency though.
Music is my heart and soul. Bard, with my trusty flute, was the natural choice. Performing with Alfira, in mist of the darkness, was so uplifting.
