  • Volvo’s current battalion of cars are some of the best-looking automotive gems on the market, with its lavish XC90 being one of the most sought after.
Going up against the likes of Range Rover, Volkswagen and Audi, the XC90 must tick a series of different boxes if it wants to stand a chance of competing - luxury and innovation being two of the most vital.
Speaking of innovation, the XC90 T8 Twin Engine we tested is the most tech-savvy and efficient model in the range, with its plug-in hybrid powertrain claiming 130mpg plus.
But can it really achieve such staggering figures? And is it worthy of Range Rover status?
We put it to the test to find out.
In this review, we take an in-depth look at the interior of the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine Plug-in Hybrid including its boot size, dashboard and back seats. We then run through performance, price and finish up with the all-important verdict - is the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine Plug-in Hybrid a good car?

I've had the T8 model for about 4 months, and driven ~2,500 miles. We don't use the car to commute, but it's our only car. I downloaded my trip data to share my experience. About 80% of our journeys are done fully on Electric power. It's quick enough off the line for normal traffic, and it's smooth as silk. Yes, I'd like more range, 30 miles would be perfect in my opinion, but I'm surprised how many trips we've managed to complete on electric. Then this weekend we jumped in the car, went on a 1,000 mile road trip - although it would be nice to top up the batteries, you don't need too - that's the beauty of plug-in hybrids. Over the 2,500 miles we have driven (before the road trip) we've averaged 40 MPG. That's not going to save the planet, or justify the $ premium, but it's the best MPG you'll find for a 7 seater premium SUV. So, why get the T8 over the T6? It's certainly not a financial justification, but it feels great to run some errands without using any gas, and the car feels so smooth in pure mode. Also - when you need it, there aren't many cars that can beat you off the line.

Hi guys. Just found your channel. It looks very interesting. It seems that some of the cars you review are more common and some of them are even achievable. I like that. I would also watch your videos if you made them a bit longer by sharing more interesting details. Keep up the good work. Thanks

Had one for a 48hr test drive. I drive very gently and my average over a weekend of mixed roads/trips was 75mpg. Not sure were they get the 134mpg from, but it certainly very doubtful. My two main complaints were the infortainment was slow and required rebooting twice over the weekend. The 4 cylinder engine if not very refined for a car of this class and can even be said to be ‘harsh’ when pushed. If they had offered other engines, I might well have ordered. I’m currently waiting for the 2018 Touareg to be available in UK - it looks a lot better car than older versions and as a long time VW owner, it might be my next car.

This does have a nicer interior than the Range Rover, although you can't really compare the two, they're not in the same class.
The Volvo needs the cream leather and blonde wood to look its best inside.

I love when they use really old Ferrari's for performance references! Go far back enough and my Nissan Micra would outdrag a Ferrari!

The first really poor review that I have seen from car keys. The Tablet style controller which has received universal praise was not shown at all and the view of the space with the 7 seats in place was completely masked by the sunshine! A bit more care and effort please Car Keys.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Ryan did briefly discuss the controller and show it on screen, although we appreciate some people may have wanted a more in-depth look at this. We also have a text based review, in which we try to elaborate on some of our points: bit.ly/2hWfkhh
Don't worry we're not short of effort on any of our videos, so come back and let us know what you think of future reviews +rippedupno1!

Think this car is more suited to business lease, 7 seater with the lowest BIK and blistering pace for such a big car makes this car one of a kind, ordering for 2019!!
