To be honest, I think the Sketer deserves a second chance, don't you? I mean, which rc car can survive a crash against a steel structure or concrete at the worst angle possible? Now we still don't know if the Sketer can survive a massive sending to the moon

Xmaxx, maxx, slash, rustler, sledge, those have all survives full speed collisions with walls and poles in kevs videos with minimal damage

If I owned this rc car I'd be really upset having it break something on the first day, especially noticing how much it costs where I live in Canada. I want to get my money's worth.

I stopped being into rc cars like 15 years ago due to prices of japanese stuff being too high but your channel and the new cheap cinese stuff make me want to step into it again, thank you sir!

Thats why HPI and Traxxas was loved before the china stuff you could get parts easy and a lot of improved parts from third party manufacturers.
Yeah man I think you should I'm fairly new to the RC world and I got a truck off of Amazon for $65 that has held up to quite a bit of s*** I've thrown at it even drove it off my back porch which is about 12 ft off the ground it hit the ground and kept on going the brand is DeeRc for $65 you get one truck with two covers two batteries and two chargers with steel axles and steel drive shaft and fully adjustable suspension

Haha these comments are great! I do think a lot of RC's out there would have broken the same way hitting that pole. Have had lots of debates recently with people about durability testing and again it really depends on many factors before we can call any particular RC brand bad. Even Traxxas and Arrma's are plagued with issues like bending chassis etc. Skateparks will always kill RC's one way or another. Is a skatepark durability test really the best way to judge if an RC is good or not that's the real question. 95% of people wont run at a skatepark and im sure this beast can hold up to normal day to day driving and moderate bashing. Defo some Corally hate amongst your friendship group mate its definitely noticeable in this vid haha! I think some are still upset over the v1 issues. Got to give them credit though they are entering into a very tough bashing market since being primarily a racing brand (Since 1986) where the clear leaders are Traxxas and Arrma and I think 2 years in they are doing great to make a chassis which can compete with the likes of the Maxx. I am defo not a fan boy but we have to remain fair. Still seeing people commenting saying corally are cloned Arrma's haha. People need to learn to research before commenting!! Corally have been around since the mid 80's. Arrma started in 2009!! Some of the names are similar and chassis layouts are similar but they are not identical or made with the same moulds!!

That happened to me with changing out the esc in my trx4 sport to the hobbywing 1080. The steering was controlling the throttle and the throttle was doing nothing, so I had to reprogram the trx4 transmitter and then reprogram the esc and it worked 😆 talk about a pain in the butt!!! Kev your hilarious Bubba have been a fan for couple years now mate. I just recently purchased a T.A. RIVAL RC monster truck. So far so good!!!!!
2:14 hpi did those body clip retainers on the 5sc a good while ago. It's a great feature that's often overlooked.

Not gonna lie I'm a bit of a corally fan boy, especially as they send you the upgrades for free and I received customised car stickers with my name and flag on them.
Nothing against arrma and traxxas I just can't afford them. Having said that I may get the kraton exb roller and stick the corally dementor electrics in it cos they are actually really decent.
Incidentally look up "kraton breaks" on RUclips and you will see an arrma breaking a rear arm ofter a relatively slow speed low jump on Grass into a cartwheel.
I remember when I used to watch your videos I wanted an rc so bad. I got one but it got destroyed, and now thanks to your videos, I can get accurate info about these rc cars! I'm still considering getting the armma kraton :D
I'll be honest, I have abused the living hell out of the Maxx v2 and it still going, landed so hard I popped the steering knuckle over the pin but no breakages yet.

Just save up and buy a good used RC 👍 I've had almost 30 RCS so far myself ALL used and have had no problems as long as you test and look them over good. I own mostly Arrma but have had Xmaxx's you name it they are all great if you don't smash them with bad driving 👍👍👍
One of the best videos I've seen from you was the build of the b6 , and raced it .
Im torn on which new car to get, I was hoping corally was tuff, looks like its not the case. I use to run arrma 1/8 but i would bend chassis every few runs or brake arms so i will never buy arrma as the parts issues a few year back was the nail in the coffin for me although my 6 year old senton 4x4 has been a tank ( plastic chassis got to be the reason like you say). I think im gonna buy the Traxxas sledge and sell electronics and put a 4082 and a max 6 and run the stock servo. Or get the new Rival mt8 and switch electronics.
I've got about 8 rc's with the Dumbo reciever. Didn't change a couple just because I spent so much on the controllers. Definitely happy with the Dumbo it has great range and the receivers are only about 16.00 u.s.
Yeah I find it Ironic I have a $80 reciever formy DX5 but on my drag RC Dumbo all the way.

3:40 I got my hands on a Domborc controller and reciever in a lot i bought recently... was eager to try it after Kevs praise... He's on point. good controller, but it is not for me; The travel distance of the accellerator/trigger is too short for my liking. Especially when driving my 6s 2250 kv motor T-Maxx it is like 0-120kmt(75mph) with a 6mm(1/4 ") triggertravel, to this noob driver thats uncontrollable...
It's a highly engineered racing machine that's why nose dives when you jump and hold full throttle, I have watched 10 seconds of you driving it and I'm surprised it hasn't broken from the wind blowing on it
When he dropped it on the table upon opening the box, the rear end bounced like 3x higher than the front. Right then and there I said "hope that thing has a really strong front end." Well, so much for hope. 🙂

The Dumbo is in mixed mode, I got a video about how to fix it on my RC channel (RandomRC).
It's also described in the Dumbo manual.
He figured it out 4 seconds later.

I actually run the dumborc in my XMaxx since the stock receiver was dead on arrival 🤷♂️

Awesome vid Kev!! This truck needs to be on 6s! I wasted my time with 4s one time!😂The stock tires are too stiff for 4s power as well. I had to run Badlands 3.8's on it for 4s. MUCH better air control! There will be upgrades from Basherqueen and M2C soon enough! Overall I think it's a great platform just a bit over engineered! I had a blast with mine with a 6s system! Little Rocket she was!
What do you mean by “she was” ? Did you break it ? And also what electric is best for bashing ? One that’s tough as hell ? I like the HPI savage but really don’t want to spend that much money .. any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated

You’ve gotten quite good at this Kev. That granite isn’t the most glamorous looking but man it’s a beast. Still love my XMaxx and Kraton 6s over all other off-road.
Which do you prefer? The XMaxx or Kraton
@@wadevallbona5314 Such different vehicles. The Kraton is faster, has better in air control and just much more aggressive. I run exb with a 1650 max 6 combo. The XMaxx is bigger, I think it turns just as well as the Kraton but is a bit slower in the air with the stock motor, (running a max 6 esc) it goes over rough ground much better though. Terrain that would upset the Kraton the XMaxx just plows through. Both are great trucks and both make me smile.
Kraton for speed xmaxx for toughness
Mojave is a better all around basher then both of those

Massively underrated vehicle for the money, I don't think there is any better 4s on the market at the price it is
the new arrma 4s cars are better value imo

Wondering why they seemingly undergeared it? To control temperatures better, perhaps? If I recall correctly, the HoBao Hyper MT Plus II uses a similar combo but with higher gearing and that would experience some very high running temperatures so maybe Corally learned from that.

Line all your rc cars up, turn them all on, and do a synchronized drive with them all in a line from the one controller!!!
