  • It's week 10 of 52 Weeks of Awesome and I take a walk to my favourite place in Dorset, Mupe Bay.
It's about a 2 mile hike from Lulworth Cove but well worth it for the stunning views and isolated location.
I also found an awesome cave which I've never been to before and is surely one of the best spots in Dorset.

Is there any place outside the Lulworth range, where you can see into the range and watch the tanks when its shut to the public ?

The only place I can think is to walk along the top path over Lulworth Cove and when the path heads downhill you can see a bit of the ranges. Never been when the range walks are shut though so don’t know what the chances are of seeing any tanks.

Oh lovely. What a place. Hardly ever make it over that way and with the little one it may be tricky for a while but maybe one day.
In fact... I'm already looking forward to the 2022 season titled 'one day I will....' that should be a good one.
Another lush day you managed to get out on and this one felt nice and polished too. Video flowed very well. You can tell your 10 weeks in and getting much more comfortable now. Well done mate. Excited for the rest of the adventures

Cheers Wayne, it still feels weird talking to the camera but I’m definitely feeling a bit more comfortable with it. You are welcome to join me on one of these some time in the future when we are able.

I did this walk today, those steps down are a bit hair raising, definitely not for the unfit . Beautiful views, will take the left turn next time to fossil forest, thanks for showing the way! Worbarrow Bay definitely worth a visit

Mupe Bay is an old smugglers bay, the cave was used to store contraband. There are many stories in the history books about this.
If you are visiting do check the weather forecast as you may easily be spending a night or two in that cave! Make sure someone knows where you are too. Dont climb the eocks as no rocks around there are stable, no matter how good your climbing skills are. While very beautiful its also very deceiving.

What an amazing video. I live in Dorset and love walking. Heard of Mupe Bay but knew nothing about it until now. It’s on my list to visit. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing your further adventures.

I absolutely love what you are doing. I grew up near Ringstead and have done lots of walks around that coast but my I’m unfit now with knackered knees and locked down in London. Miss Dorset so much so it’s wonderful to enjoy your walks. Thank you.

Thanks Sarah, it’s nice to hear when someone has enjoyed one of these videos. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Ringstead so will have to add that to my to-do list for a visit in the future.

Hi, done lulworth and durdle door many times, but have never heard of Mupe Bay , which is shocking as Dorset born and bred ! We are going to do this on Saturday after watching your vid . Where exactly did you start walk? Any tips on free parking?
    Thanks for great video!! 😊😊
    All the best
    Alan

Hi Alan, I park opposite the church in Lulworth on the road that leads to the Durdle Door holiday park. There’s only limited parking there so best to arrive early if possible. That’s where I start the walk and you’ll see the lane I go down at the start of the walk. Hope you enjoy it.

Definitely worth the hike. I do recommend trying to go at low tide if you want to be able to get to the cave. Enjoy.
