The whole "why eat if I'm going to live 80 years anyway" obviously has the flaw "you won't live 80 years if you don't eat" but I don't think the argument works for prayer. An example: "Why pray for my brother's healing if God will heal them anyway?" a similar answer (like that given to the above question) would be "your bother won't be healed by God if you don't pray". But this opens you up to the problem of diminishing God's sovereignty. The problem is, if I pray, either (a) God will do what he was always going to do regardless of my prayer (so why pray?) or (b) God will adjust the outcome based on my prayer (this indicates I have changed God's mind or offered up an alternative/better solution to God - both of which diminish God's sovereignty).
My family prays for me all the time, and it never works. So one of three things happens: they either say, “well, maybe it wasn’t God’s will.” Or, “we didn’t pray hard enough.” Or, the thing they prayed for happens many years later and they say, “see, our prayers worked!” In any case, they never lose.

We pray to God to align our perspective to God's. Letting God know our needs and wants comforts us because the perfect God has them in His hands . With this in mind we can have the peace that passes all understanding regardless of the outcome.

My two cents: One reason we should pray is because we're commanded to. Secondly, if God is your ultimate source, why wouldn't you? We pray(Speak and Listen) to God because we want to be in a relationship with him. How can you have a relationship with anyone if you don't communicate? In praying we use Bible too as our prayers are not always Biblical. It's not us aligning ourselves to God's "malicious will" as most people think. The term "God's will" is always use erroneously only when something bad happens to us. It is not His will that we will suffer. It is His will for us to live a fulfilling life. If it wasn't the case, we shouldn't try to go to heaven as God's will always happen in heaven in any way ( In Lord's prayer we say "you will be done on Earth as it in heaven.") poging bagsik from my point of view and what I see so far is that if god knows all and controls all and at the same time have free will then he has truly created all including evil and for Satan to have it we are not to blame for anything. to be honest can you actually pray like this the entire time, every time you're in a slump all you'd say is "make me more like you" and keep all that pain tucked away since Jesus don't complain right?. wilfredo hernandez this is obviously not true. Sure, people pray to win the lottery or to be able to fly or whatever. But plenty of christians pray for health struggles, financial help, relationships, etc... and those prayers aren't answered. Verses like this just give people false hope.

I pray to God and work hard for my studies. I study day and night compared to others and people who don't even believe in God. At the end after all the efforts and devotion all I get is the passing score or F. So is it God's will to keep me stuck at F grade thing? Or is it like more beneficial for me and the world?

I think as long as one's desires doesn't become an obsession or an idol.
We pray(Speak and Listen) to God because we want to be in a relationship with him. How can you have a relationship with anyone if you don't communicate? In praying we use Bible too as our prayers are not always Biblical. It's not us aligning ourselves to God's "malicious will" as most people think. The term "God's will" is always use erroneously only when something bad happens to us. It is not His will that we will suffer. It is His will for us to live a fulfilling life. If it wasn't the case, we shouldn't try to go to heaven as God's will always happen in heaven in any way ( In Lord's prayer we say "you will be done on Earth as it in heaven.") So heaven will be a torture chamber basically. He is a God who cares for every aspect of our life. Yes, He always put our spiritual wellbeing over material/physical wellbeing. So, as a result, he allows some suffering for our betterment in the longer term. But No, it doesn't mean it is His will for you not to have any desires of our hearts. In fact, He is a God who delights in the desires of our hearts and proper means to achieve them.
