Dax renegade as he is also giving up rap he says. Whereas this is the death of Slim Shady wonder what your thoughts are and technical skills are right up there 🙏
Honestly think Juice had lot to do with it. Em was a Juice world fan, and before his death he did an interview where his one wish was literally for Slim Shady to make a come back.
At 13:55 "Boy is Bruce generous" also hits as a reference to Batman with Bruce Wayne being a philanthropist. Which again ties into the whole album focusing on Slim with it circling back to Rap Boy, being his Robin inspired outfit from "Without Me" and "Houdini".
I'll add on the idea of "Bruce" being a homophone of "bruise", as in "bruise generous". Eminem bruising you generously with the jabs and bars he keeps throwing at us.
In the verse: Mom shaming, dad shaming (Ah), yeah Fat-shaming (What?), man-splaining, blah (Pfft) Crybabies attack Shady, wah Mad 'cause they can't tame me (Get it) I was wondering why he says 'get it" as an ad lib I was trying to figure out what there is to get and then it hit me. "They can't tame me" sounds like "they contain me" as if shady is in all of us and we can't stop him for that reason too. ABSOLUTE GENIUS
That's a wordplay/soundplay I didn't catch. I would read it more as "You tame the part of you that's like me so you don't have enough power/force/will/ whatever to tame me" not like "I am part of you so you cannot tame me" Either way - if that's what was meant, then Em build another mountain to climb by other rappers.

"You know how I roll Avalanche" is so subtle but has so much meaning. First of all its massive and white. It's a force of nature and once it starts nobody can stop it. People get buried by it if they are in its way. Not to mention It's loud as as shit and you can hear it coming from miles away and it gets louder and louder the closer it gets to you.
Avalanche: 1) massive force of nature 2) white 3) in a rap about "habits" where everyone from his fans, stans, and haters are addicted to him = mountains of white powder
Not to mention, might not be referencing it, but the Chevrolet Avalanche. Michigan, especially Detroit, has very deep and strong ties to the automotive industry.
That's a good catch! Also here's mine Now I get it. So you see in this intro, he's trying to make Marshall eat a pill, which is the Ativan. But Em doesn't want to do it. So he said(Shady), We'll split it. So in the first verse, Half an Ativan in the voice of Slim. Then it goes onto the track, if you listen closely, the track keeps switching from Eminem to Slim Shady's voice. Taking into account that they're doing this back and forth under the influence, then talks shit about retarded and midgets and everything in between. Dang. I'm blown away.
This “addiction” to drama was alluded to in Eminem’s 2009 book “angry young blonde” , in which he said the slim shady persona almost destroyed his family life, even though he made him rich and famous.
@Knox Hill I wanted to thank you, I realized today that you are actually sacrificing your first listen to your favorite artists for your viewers so you can do these break-down reactions, so its like you don't have the chance to listen and enjoy as a fan on your first listen to these songs, and now through this realization I have a new found appreciation for what you do for us. thank you man
This album feels like a full circle career album. Slim and Marshall rapping with indisputably the highest level of lyricism. He's evolved so high he's gone back to get Slim and it can also be considered a "Thank You" album to his OG fan base who made him. Gave us what we wanted just an evolved version. Album is going in the history books for sure
Yeah! And they scattered throughout the album different "styles" of his voice: like the little bit sounding like MMLPS in Antichrist, or the one song I forgot which one that has a flow that's the same as a flow on Killshot, there's MTBMB just in his "normal" voice, Brand New Dance (obviously) for Encore, Renaissance was back to sounding like Relapse, and Bringing Skylar Grey on was beautiful in Temporary but also a nice reminder of all those Slaughterhouse to Revival era songs. It's a masterpiece of nostalgic proportions.
Eminem no longer has competition. He’s passed that. He just competes with himself now. Do t think so? Your favorite rapper can’t do what he’s doing on this album. Perhaps he’ll finally get his flowers. We don’t need to wait for Em to die to solidify him as a legend. He’s already there. He will go down as the greatest of all time. The true GOAT. This album is stupid insane. 🔥
Em can do his old voice. I heard an interview of Eminem with Sway in 2013 the title of it is called “Eminem Shade 45 Sirius Town Hall November 2013” it’s 51:42 minutes long. And at 7:15-7:35 they played a clip of him when he was really young rapping on a radio interview and you could hear his Shady voice. Then when the clip was done Eminem mimicked the Shady voice perfectly and said “except my voice was a lot more higher and it was like this though.” And he was 41 in 2013. He did the voice exactly like he did back then, in this Shade 45 interview. I’m sorry but Em is a goat and I believe he can do that voice without AI. So I’m leaning a little more towards it not being AI because he can do it.
Trust me they are. Its a myth that Gen Z has riots about Em's language because half of them dont care, the other half like eminem and a tiny amount of people are the ragebaiters on twitter who make it out as if we are all offended... ❌
Kendrick changed today’s culture on Juneteenth. Eminem changed culture when he was in his mama’s womb. Then Eminem drops this? I’m speechless. Em is always the 🐐K Dub is a close second.
Knox you are the goat of rap breakdowns. No one catches it like you do. I have disliked rap my entire life. I am 65. I am a writer and I love words. Rap was difficult to understand. But your explanations have shown the art of word play can relate to all forms. Thank you.
I don't know if anyone else got this... For the song Habits...in the end slim said "I'm just playing, little people, you know I love you" From Habits to Hobbits (little people from the movie Lord of the rings)
Can we just all appreciate how much work this S takes to put together?? I don’t know any other rappers who put this much, not only into their pen, but threading themes and storylines into their albums!! Eminem is the GOAT 🐐 and Knox is the GOAT of reactors for all the effort he puts into breaking down these bars. 🔥🔥
Em is pointing out his OWN addiction to controversy, meaning that whenever he uses these favorite slurs of his ("favorite" because he's connected them to dozens or even hundreds of flows, phrases, flips, etc.) he's also succumbing to his own addiction. Really loving Eminem's concept here.
Exactly, which Em himself admitted to even. From the age old homophobia in old songs which sounds corny now that being gay = normal person to him apologizing to Tyler. Sure, we are a product of our time but then there is the saying 'a time and a place'. Would like to see Em drop those F-bombs again but here he is also talking about women as hoes. It's very contradictive but then again, Little Nas X called people in the industry out for their homophobia only for them to clutch chests like "us?" when they got song full of F-bombs. So not surprising.
I saw a reaction saying Eminem cemented himself as the GOAT with this album...the more songs I hear from this album I think that person might be right...insane rhymes!
Since Kamikaze, I've been looking forward to Knox to break down the album almost as much as I look forward to the album itself. Best reactor on RUclips, Shaq a close second
Yeah, it's called a double entendre. KH was right, too - same adlib "DING" as in "Without Me" - ruclips.net/video/YVkUvmDQ3HY/видео.htmlsi=lMZOm3BbpXI_wzzt&t=200 - what an excellent memory.
WOW! You breaking all these bars down and finding all these subtle parallel meanings is really next level. Makes me appreciate this work of art even more. Your appreciation for the craft is really inspiring. You're awesome, Knox!
Absolutely, this album is a mix of many albums, of course of Classics Shady era, but i also feel some MTBMB vibes, also kamikaze for the Vengeful spirit 🤔👍👍
@@KnoxHillon top of the 99 release, there were a ton of pharmacies getting robbed and the flow of vicodin and percs going around was ridiculous... I graduated in 99 and that was the fun going around at that time... then when this album dropped it validated using them then. Was a crazy time. IYKYK Plus DMX and Ja Rule was blowing up, Jay Z was super fire, The LOX, DIPSET... so much 🔥.... the best time in my opinion in hip hop/rap. I'll never forget those times. Crazy
@@danielosuna4980 yea bro! There's another point when he ends with snoring and and alarm going off, the next song starts with "waking up.." it's so good
Maybe I'm reaching here but I think White Gold's hook is actually another personality on the song. Specifically, I think it represents his drug addiction. He speaks in the first person and refers to Shady and Em separately. Take a look at these lines: You got an addiction man, I know you can't get rid of me forever 'cause you that I'm prescription, man God damn, I miss you Slim This implies that the hook represents something other than Em and Slim. It also makes sense that his drug addiction pines for the old Slim Shady days as that's also when he was fully in the throws of his addiction. I really love the layers on this song, it sets the stage for the whole album.
The pack of stans behind him also links up with how he rolls like an avalance. Like picture him walking out front and a sea of stans behind him... Like an avalance.
When he is trying to say sorry ,actually he doesn't say it full word..cuz just the part of him wants to say sorry, thats why it sound " I'm sooo"😂😍love Em
This is my fav song of the album. So many good lines "just a kid from detroid who knew, how to destroy the booth and had a point to proove" shout out to proof, rest in piece, who pushed him to keep going, so we can all enjoy his music.
I feel like I might be the oldest person here, lol, but I've been an Eminem fan since day one! Even took my kids to see him (they were 15 & 16) when he came here on the Anger Management tour with Limp Bizket. I'm loving this!! And I'm really having fun watching your breakdown of these songs!
When Em says, "now I'm kitty-cornered... Sittin' in PC court with a shitty lawyer" I think he's saying kitty cornered, as in pushed into the farthest corner he can be pushed into, but also KIDDIE cornered... because he's being cornered by all these little kids that are offended by him. And "sitting in PC court", like politically correct court in general, but also PC as in personal computer and he's being judged so much on the internet by these kids wanting to cancel him... It's like he's on trial online. And then when he says "with a shitty lawyer", it goes back to the computer thing... like a shit E-Lawyer. Like, a completely impersonal, random lawyer he found online that he never met. Who is definitely defending him, but doesn't actually care what the outcome is because at the end of the day, he's getting paid and it's just another client and it's not personal enough for him to sincerely give a fuck.
I mean Knox tried to do basic math and wasn’t quite sure. Always nice to confirm what seems obvious. No need to bash someone literally reacting to an open ended question in the video. “Basic math” wasn’t fully done by Knox to confidently confirm his thought of Eminem kindergarten years being jimmy carter presidency. Doubt you’d have commented “it’s basic math Knox” with a time stamp had this guy not left this comment for you to most likely respond to without watching the video fully because it was within the first few minutes. But I digress.
This whole album is a masterpiece, 10/10. Every aspect of it SO detailed, SO perfected and SO fire that it's literally impossible to recognize and find all the bars, entandres, meanings, references, wordplays and layers in it, not to mention the insane lyrical skills in the first few listens. You literally have to pay all your attention multiple times listening to it to even grasp what he did on every single track. Untouched, Ems skills and talent are untouched to this day. This album is a fu**ing masterpiece, FIRE from top to bottom, i don't give a f what ANYBODY says. Eminem is the goat, period. Motherfu** the big 3, it's just BIG E! 🐐

But did slim shady die?
@@Toothless4lifeDid you listen to the album...?
@@yeshevishman yes and I need help. That's why I go to knox. Don't be rude and just tell me geez
@@Toothless4life sorry. I was genuinely asking. I'm sorry if it came off as rude.
The point of the album is that it's multi-layered about what "death" means. I'm sure Knox is going to get into it
@@yeshevishman mmmmm okay okay. Thank you! 🥰 i really suck when it comes to interperting what other people are trying to convey. 🫢🫣🫥 I wish I could have knox brain for an hour while I listen to the album. Lol
Avalanche:
1) massive force of nature
2) white
3) in a rap about "habits" where everyone from his fans, stans, and haters are addicted to him = mountains of white powder
Nice
Not to mention, might not be referencing it, but the Chevrolet Avalanche. Michigan, especially Detroit, has very deep and strong ties to the automotive industry.
That's a good catch!
Also here's mine
Now I get it.
I mean could go for a reach and say its also a truck that rolls on wheels lmao
Anybody who would say that he is shit won't listen to the album, anyway.
Rofl gimme a break. Eminem is one of the greats, no question, but he isn't Kendrick.
@@thingsofinterest603gtfoh 😂. Kendrick isn’t even in the same universe 😴✌️
@thingsofinterest603 nope better. he's good just remember kendrick learned from em
@thingsofinterest603 kendrick ain't even one of the greats what are you talking about. 😂😂😂 maybe after another 5 albums.
Em is a master.
Eminem is like fine wine, the older the better
I was 12 years old when slim shady was born Now im 37 but I going back to my childhood with this album The 00’s
Where can I find that interview?
I mean he even did the song discombulated with his relapse voice. I don't get it why people would think this is AI.
This Generation isn't ready for the return of Shady... Heads will burst.
Trust me they are. Its a myth that Gen Z has riots about Em's language because half of them dont care, the other half like eminem and a tiny amount of people are the ragebaiters on twitter who make it out as if we are all offended... ❌
Jimmy Carter was also a farmer so that ties in with the gardener
Had a good reputation as a peanut farmer
His peanut farm withered he got pissed
White gold appreciation, he absolutely destroyed the hooks 🤩 There's a reason Em keeps working with him
White gold is the new nate dogg. RIP
💯
He is awesome! Zeus is still has one of my favorite hooks of all time.
@@Mrs.L.44 completely agree
Kendrick changed today’s culture on Juneteenth. Eminem changed culture when he was in his mama’s womb. Then Eminem drops this? I’m speechless. Em is always the 🐐K Dub is a close second.
Or as we all know now... he was bitten by a goat 🐐
Yeah when it comes to the best rappers alive it’s 1. Eminem 2. K Dot then it’s everyone else
I’m so happy that Em is loving on his OG fans🤘🏻🇨🇦
I feel like Knox is the only one who can break down Ms bars and get 100% of the meanings.
Knox you are the goat of rap breakdowns. No one catches it like you do. I have disliked rap my entire life. I am 65. I am a writer and I love words. Rap was difficult to understand. But your explanations have shown the art of word play can relate to all forms. Thank you.
I am curious. Do you like to listen to rap now?
@@Mrs.L.44 yes. I do sometimes need captions to catch all the words but the talent in combining them in rhyme schemes is amazing in some of it.
I bet Em is jamming watching knox break down his tracks like a G 😂
I don't know if anyone else got this...
For the song Habits...in the end slim said
"I'm just playing, little people, you know I love you"
From Habits to Hobbits
(little people from the movie Lord of the rings)
hmm interesting
40 minutes? People, we have been blessed.
This song is so good. It a true em song. I love it so much.
In Without me 3:23 you have that symbol sound outlet, you where right its the same one
Agreed. No one breaks down bars like Knox. And I love Shaq too.
Yeah man it's great
my friend just told me that that adlib from Prince bar is actually called "cymbal"..
cymbal-symbol-assemble.. GENIUS
😮😮😮
Yeah, it's called a double entendre. KH was right, too - same adlib "DING" as in "Without Me" - ruclips.net/video/YVkUvmDQ3HY/видео.htmlsi=lMZOm3BbpXI_wzzt&t=200 - what an excellent memory.
@@Bulbucario yeah... noh.. its called a triple entendre

Eminem Needs To Make A Music Movie For This Album
35:30 That "da baby" line is also a flipped reference to South Park with the line "Don't kick da baby" from Ike, Kyle's baby brother
Em: Part of me gets it wants to say I’m sorry
Ad-lib: I’m Sor (only part of the word sorry)
Just a Genius lmao
Yea caught that too haha 😂
Great catch
WOW! You breaking all these bars down and finding all these subtle parallel meanings is really next level. Makes me appreciate this work of art even more. Your appreciation for the craft is really inspiring. You're awesome, Knox!
"Long live lyricism .. Long live channels like this." Love & respect from India Brother!!

Absolutely, this album is a mix of many albums, of course of Classics Shady era, but i also feel some MTBMB vibes, also kamikaze for the Vengeful spirit 🤔👍👍
that, "think you had the game on lock til they pick it." (picket line/strike) line is my favorite bar in the song.
For a stan since 99 in Pakisatn imagine my shouting in Room after hearing that bar. Yeah my GOAT. Thanks to Knox you are breakdown king 🙏
This track is 🔥 Shady ain’t playing. Had such a great time bumping to this for the first time
The "I'm sorry" adlib is from the song "My Fault" from the Slim Shady LP.
He also cuts off the Sorry to line up with what he said about almost being sorry
Also PC court to get charged and your bail amount. Usually from getting picked up for being drunk or high
When the hook comes in with the beat, hairs on my arm stand up. Loud!!!, obviously.
We all got hard Knox... we all did
🤣🤣🙌
Also on the blair witch... i think that came out in 99 too. Same time as eminem drop. But i could be a few months off lol. @KnoxHill
@@KnoxHillon top of the 99 release, there were a ton of pharmacies getting robbed and the flow of vicodin and percs going around was ridiculous... I graduated in 99 and that was the fun going around at that time... then when this album dropped it validated using them then. Was a crazy time. IYKYK
Plus DMX and Ja Rule was blowing up, Jay Z was super fire, The LOX, DIPSET... so much 🔥.... the best time in my opinion in hip hop/rap. I'll never forget those times. Crazy
love the word play on hard Knox (hard knocks) too
When the song is almost 5 minutes and Knox makes a 40 minutes video you know some good stuff is coming. 🔥✌️
The last song ended with the word wait, the track starts with "been waiting a long time" he's connecting through the songs themselves it's crazyyyyy
That's why he said to listen to it from beginning to end in order. So good catch
@@danielosuna4980 yea bro! There's another point when he ends with snoring and and alarm going off, the next song starts with "waking up.." it's so good
Or when he mentions it's his third shot in Evil and asked how many he had in Guilty Conscience 2 and I think Shady answers "it's your third".
Maybe I'm reaching here but I think White Gold's hook is actually another personality on the song. Specifically, I think it represents his drug addiction. He speaks in the first person and refers to Shady and Em separately. Take a look at these lines:
You got an addiction man,
I know you can't get rid of me forever 'cause you that I'm prescription, man
God damn, I miss you Slim
This implies that the hook represents something other than Em and Slim.
KEEP EM COMING KNOX!!!! HELL YES
When he is trying to say sorry ,actually he doesn't say it full word..cuz just the part of him wants to say sorry, thats why it sound " I'm sooo"😂😍love Em
"Marshall give me a break" marshalls tied up he cant help
Knox so knowledgeable 👏👏👏 best of the best reactor, can’t choose between Knox, crypt , Cliff , Stevie K, NL Shaq 😁😁 my top 5 reactors.
He also cuts himself off, saying, "im sorry" in the adlib. Like hes telling himself to shut the f up lol
EM fuckin killed it with this album man
This is my fav song of the album.
Sittin' in PC court with a shitty lawyer"
I think he's saying kitty cornered, as in pushed into the farthest corner he can be pushed into, but also KIDDIE cornered... because he's being cornered by all these little kids that are offended by him.
Brilliant analysis 🔥
There is so much going on, I'm listening, analysing, hearing your thoughs, realising there's so much I missed.
I looked it up and when Eminem was in kindergarten Jimmy Carter was president.
I mean, you could also just do some basic math. LOL
@@yeshevishmanif you honestly knew off the top of your head the years jimmy carter was president I’m impressed
And because I had to look it up, I realized I'm 2 months and 4 days older than Em. #GenX72
