***Soak the racks in half water half vinegar. My husband does that when restoring old, rusty tools. Good luck!

I use vinegar and water to clean rust off all rusted items! After the rust cleanup I just rub on a little bit of vegetable oil with a lint free cloth to prevent rust reforming

regarding the platter: my great grandmother's favorite expression was "it will never be seen from a galloping horse" meaning the new platter matches well enough

Wow!!!! I checked that Vertex platter and.... an 8 1/2 inch one was selling online for $111.00!!!!! So... SCORE!!! And it looks GREAT with the ones you already have!! Oh, and I truly LOVE the little antique warming oven, and how you've styled it!!! Another wonderful video!
The table looks great in your room, and the pie safe is too cute in your kitchen. I've heard for years that you can soak rusted pieces in coke but I've never tried it. Also vinegar and baking soda bath.

Julie...our Habitat for Humanity has draw pulls and such. I was able to find a replacement for a vintage cabinet, you could check out and see.
Hi Julie, I think that the platter/plate would look nice hung up. It's so close to the other ones that I couldn't see the difference. I like that black oven. It's so unique. I bet no one else has one like it. The round table that you placed on the side of your bed looks like it belongs there. So nice !!!!
I cant see much, if any, difference in the platters. Maybe you can shop for another Vertex platter. Love the oven & table.

There’s a place online called Restoration Hardware and they sell all the antique stuff but new restoration hardware are used to buy from them plenty
I looked up the platter it goes for over $100. The table in your room is beautiful and is perfect in the corner. Great idea for the sandwich box. Good idea for the basket. The platter is perfect it does not have to match it gives is character. Live the idea of putting the potatoes in the little oven since it has vents on the back and sides. Good thrift finds👍

I googled vertex platter and the least expensive was $150.00. Google lens is really the best way to find things.
Score all around! Everything was beautiful! I’d use the platter with the others. From ground level, it looks like the others. You absolutely nailed it with the items you picked up this thrift!

Julie, try putting those rack in a tub of vinegar. Vinegar will take off a lot. I have bought “Rust 911” it’s SUPPOSE to take rust off, well for me THAT didn’t work, but I tried.

You might try using naval jelly on the rusty racks from the oven
I used naval jelly on a rusty piece and it turned the metal piece black. Which I liked. Then I sealed it with a clear coat spray
Try restoration hardware or eBay for the handle on the drum table
I had to go back to that basket of spuds because I wasn't paying close enough attention & thought you were casually tossing EGGS into that bowl, phew! I'm delighted you snagged that pie oven! And it looks great where you set it.

The little pie oven is so sweet..i like a little rusty look sometimes on the old pieces, gives it character and shows the aging of it. Love what you've done with it❤ The table is just beautiful! It belongs right where its at😊 I think sheets that have a pretty print/pattern should be upside down if you're going to fold them back. The bedding looks really pretty and cozy. I think the platter looks fine, goes well with the rest of them. Enjoyed the video today!😊

Julie, I just happened to get some Barkeeper’s Friend items on clearance at my grocery store, and the spray foam cleaner is UNBELIEVABLE! It has removed stains from my countertop that I’ve battled since the day we bought our house! And it removes rust!!! Just an FYI! And I absolutely L🩷VE your vintage Duncan Fife table! It brings back sweet memories of visiting my Grandma’s house…she had one in her living room with my Aunt’s senior picture sitting on it. My hubby actually found one at a thrift store several years ago & surprised me with it.
Clear coat your pie oven, it will seal the rust and prevent further damage plus it keeps the patina.

Try oven cleaner or S.O.S. PADS. They do really well on bicycle spokes. ( that's how I used to get mine clean when I was little, like 50 yrs ago 😂) . Also try magic eraser on your platter. I use them all the time on my finds. All the LUCK.!!

I have been using one of those little baby formula scoopers for about 16 years now my grandson is 16 and I still have it and use it daily
I just almost didn't recognize you ....of course you I've never seen you without a cap on! I wear capsand hats almost ona daily basis... You could spray the racks with Weather Defense to seal in the rust..??

I hit the jackpot at a Goodwill up in Dallas. I could not believe all the great finds i found. And I hit double jackpot by every tag was the half off tag. I was like "what?" I never hit those.

I enjoy your channel very much. The question on removing rust, have you tried Easy Off oven cleaner It might work?
On the rusty racks,baking sheets, bottom of pots my favorite cleaner is Barkeepers Friend! I love using the powder type most of the time and sometimes will use a combination of the liquid and the powder to make a paste,let it sit then scrub it. It is also great on windows and in bathrooms. I will never be without it again!!
Vinegar will take rust off, after vinegar, wash let dry it 190 oven, spray it with cooking spray,
Julie, your vintage drum table looks wonderful in your bedroom. Take the drawer to a flea market, that sells vintage hardware, my local Goodwill, often has drawer pulls and antique hardware, put in with the donated tools, I am sure you can accomplish this, easy peasy!

Julie once you start grinding your own coffee beans you’ll never go back 👍 just don’t grind too many at a time or your coffee won’t stay as fresh😉 my husband & I have used a Capresso that grinds your beans as you make a pot👍

You could try oven cleaner on the racks. I still buy the stuff for a pan I cook veggies in on my grill. The pan is stainless and I scrub it with SOS after applying the oven cleaner. It takes a lot of work to clean it up each time, but I love it for grilling and while I say, it's not worth it all that work, I continue using it.

I first used oven cleaner soak over night if it's real rusty if it's still some rust yes vinegar, baking soda,and water again over night it sure come clean ,yes I do used sheets, comfort, towels, I don't have a problem with them I have beautiful ones, some I've had for over 15 years I have alots 😅 so it works for me to each it's own Apostle Dr Matthews

I got some euro shams at IKEA , they are the perfect fit and SO comfortable to lean on when reading or watching TV!

I didn't think to look for a magic bullet. But lucky I just thrifted a coffee grinder.
There are many sprays you can get that will take care of rust. You can also try vinegar with lemon juice and baking soda.

My goodness the platter works perfect hanging with the other. It looks great. That are almost exactly alike plus same era so it goes with the other perfectly. They dont have to be the same!
There is an oven heat paint. You can get it anywhere. You can’t tell the difference to me. 🤷🏼♀️

Soak the rusted racks in vinegar for a time and then rub with steel wool. Magic.

I actually use vinegar, no water just overnight on tools and it works great. However when cleaning the rest of that little Pi oven you may want to dilute it with water

I think putting the potatoes in one of your ceramic pie plates in the oven might look.better! Looks cute now but try the pie plate since it is a pie safe!

Julie I bought a spray by Rust O' Leum called rust reformer I have two very old smudge pots outdoors and they are very rusty I will hav hubby spray em' u oughta look into it see if it helps or any rust remover solutions. Oh noticed that u pour your laundry powder sopa ontop of your clothing, just saying but in my washing machine cover it states to start to fill the machines first up with water then pour your detergent of choice b4 filling it with laundry🤷♀️ just thought I mentioned it, & u struck a very good day on your items to thanks for sharing.

Soak in vinegar to melt rust, and seal to stop it stating again ( Ginderchick uses a sealer on rust)

Suggestion, put the plate where the sign is. It is a space thing, mount it centered until you find two more. Maybe get two smaller ovals too. I hang plates and use plates and platters everywhere.

you can do the present fold and tuck with the pillow shams.
I would embrace the rusty pieces, It gives the piece character.
you can find some hardware for your table at restoration hardware....or check you local architectural salvage...a lot of times they just have bns and bins of those things,,,
