by watching other videos of this game, I found out that you can actually toss gold at the people following you in the tower. When you throw money at them, they become a lot happier and they attack more for you. The turtle will indeed keep going into the tower to gain more gold for his family. You will eventually see them get better and the dialogue will change. There's a certain limit to the amount of gold you can give the followers, but it is a lot. Also, if your follower has stuff you want, you can just pick them up and shake em, and they will drop their armor and weapons. You are correct, becoming a citizen is pointless right now. You just get a wall with a message on it saying "nothing here yet, still in early access". Glad you're having so much fun with the game.
you can tell which door you have been in before by looking at the handles. The doors that you have explored are turned at a downward angle and the ones you have not visited our horizontal

When you get a magic lamp, tell your follower(s) to wait a short distance away and then you can use the lamp without them getting in the way. Once you're done with the lamp, go back to your followers and have them follow you again. This also works well for when you need to drop gear temporarily (repair, picking up big objects to put on floor switches, etc ..) so your followers won't take your gear.
you might get to this before I do, but... in the alchemy room, make the blue potion that turns monsters to humans (leek + teeth)... I've thrown it at monsters and gotten a follower out of it, but I haven't had a chance to start a fight with umbilicus and then hit him wit the potion... I'm expecting something to happen. :-)
I have a theory... the final door to exit the tower.. you can jump up the pillars on either side of it.. I wonder... if you can jump and strike the green shield above the tower door. I think it might come off as a unique shield / item. might sell for $$$ or be a really good shield for a following run.
When you gain citizenship, you also get access to the castle. In there is a banner as placeholder for future content. If you get the 100 coins now, you won't have to do it later, but you probably won't get some content before v0.1.x or v0.2.0

I like how this game keeps evolving. I want to see what they do with the locked door at the end with the statue blocking it. I had a wicked meal on Sunday too. I had about a 1lbs and a half of taco bell

Totally fair criticism, buddy. I think for a minute, those titles were helping new folks find the game, but we have reached a point where it would make sense to use something that describes the specific happenings without spoiling it altogether. Appreciate the feedback!

Never send the peasants into the doors, they never come back.. unless you wanna get rid of them which it is very effective at doing
