    I COMPLETELY AGREE - Benchmade needs to produce an XL VERSION OF THE FULL IMMUNITY! If it was a 3.5 inch blade with a full 4-finger grasp handle - that would be an awesome EDC blade! I love that they made it from CPM-M4 as well as the beautiful aluminum handle scales with diamond texture, so I would hope they would keep this. I was thinking they could call the XL version:
    "BENCHMADE FULL IMMUNITY - BOOSTER SHOT"! 😎👍

  • @flapxjackson

    I agree with you. They need to make a larger one. What does surprise me, is the number of people who have already bought one and were shocked how small they were. I guess people don’t read the specs oftentimes before ordering. Watch the secondary market for them if you want one. I’ve seen them going from $200 to $225.

      It's simple:
      The surprised buyers are more concerned with looks and steel snobbery over actual specifications, performance, comfort, and value for the money.

    The Ah-nuld impression was pretty good, Aaron! 😂😂😂 I can't fool with Benchmade and their pricing though. It's almost as if overpriced is a brand feature. You can litterally get a sub-3-inch, CPM-4V, button-lock Wharnie with a full ergonomic micarta handle for $75 - Kizer Swaggs Swayback, KnifeCenter exclusive. You can get a Wharnie Spyderco Delica in K390 (even better edge retention than M4) for $130 or less. Technically, you could get BOTH of these and still not break $200. Did I mention that Benchmade tends to be overpriced? Cool knife, ridiculous price.

    • @TheScotchaholic
      @TheScotchaholic Год назад +3

      Benchmade knows they have a bunch of slaves that will buy anything at abnormal prices.
      Just received my sprint run Spyderco Siren, with a 3.6" S90V blade and solid carbon fiber handles for $242. A stronger lockback folder, with higher edge retention and corrosion resistance than M4 steel, with a bit less toughness - don't have to worry about toughness since high edge retention steels are usually best at cutting A LOT of softer materials like cardboard, rope, nylon strapping and wire jacketing/insulation, etc.

    I have developed a full Benchmade immunity over the years. I own many of their knives, from my beginner days as a knife nut, but they are not worth it in hindsight. This one really looks nice. No question. But it's a Benchmade, so I pass. Thank you for the video! Great as always!❤

      I started with the AFCK from Benchmade, and had a Griptilian (early 2010 version, I think)...even had a Nimravus...but, I just couldn't see myself paying the higher costs for them, while I was in the military (where I would lose blades - folders and fixed).
      Once I got out, the Griptilian went from like $40-60 range to the over $120 range, so they stopped being even thought of.

    Best compact knife I’ve ever owned was the Spyderco Cricket. I’ve heard many people claim that a knife that compact and useful still isn’t worth $95, and I totally disagreed…but this Benchmade absolutely doesn’t justify its price point. It looks great and performs great, too, but good Lord…for a knife that small and for that price, it’s approaching full-custom pricing, not what I’d expect from a compact, mass-production folding knife. When you start going above around $150, it becomes exponentially harder for companies to sell the merits of their knives, because the more affordable price bracket is more competitive than ever these days. Some companies definitely achieve that goal and completely make the unattainable-for-some prices feel somewhat justified, but Benchmade in particular seems dead-set on marking everything they produce up to AT LEAST twice as much as the materials they’re worth, and all because they’re a notable name. The butterfly tax is definitely a real thing, and it’s sad that it doesn’t show any sign of easing up in the foreseeable future

    i have the bronze and mine flicks and closes easily and loosely. This knife is enough for me to cut boxes, papers, food, peel my apple and do some Manicure and its enough blade for self defense to cut someone's main veins lol, excellent knife, i carry mine for four days now.

    The blade length regulation for a federal facility (where I work) is under 2.5 inches. In my opinion the best combination of quality and size that meets that standard is the Spyderco Lil' Native with either slipjoint or lockback. You get a beefy handle and choil and S30V or better for $150. I hope this size knife becomes more popular for selfish reasons because I'd love more steel and handle options.

    Typically people think smaller blades should cost less but the reason they aren't and sometimes cost more, because the smaller the blade the harder work it is to produce and usually more intricate too. As a knife maker myself I can attest to this being true, even a smaller knife can use close to the same amount of materials to produce believe it or not (of course it would depend how big vs how small, waste etc lol). I agree that knife needs to be bigger and I dont know what the deal is with making knives small anymore, perhaps its for the guys wearing girls jeans and they have smaller pockets 🤣. They claim its for less bulk in your pocket of course which i can agree with in certain situations, but personally I prefer a full sized handle at the very least. Interesting how its named full immunity and resembles a snake...no coincidence there im sure smh. Thanks for showing and have a safe holiday weekend!

      Teal is a great color when using a blade around sheeple normies.
      Certain colors look more aggressive, even when the blade model is exactly the same.
      Example:
      My tricked out PM2 with aftermarket titanium scales and naked Maxamet blade attracted more attention and stand-offish looks at work, than my PM2 with teal g10 scales and blackened S90V blade. It looks more like a toy....aka less threatening, despite being the same model and blade length with different handle/blade materials and blade finishes.

    In experience, the blades under 3 inches are too small. Why? You even can't cut a folding paper easily and well.
    About paying the price of the knife, it depends on CP in your mind. As a utility knife, I believe most people would not pay for it. But for a user facing on a robust operational/survival situation, it presents a not-waste-time-on-sharpening value. It could be an option. M4 has high edge retention and toughness better than Cruwear.

    At that price it should have one of the ultra hard indestructible DLC coatings.
    I might buy one anyway tho.. my all time favorite gym shorts (hot summer) knife has been the Spyderco Dragonfly for what, 15?, 20? years.. I love them, have several, but I’m just kinda bored with it all the sudden. Not sure why lol.
    Maybe I’ll wait for Magnacut or something that doesn’t need a coating?

      I've watched several reviews of this knife. Comment sections all echo one thought, "not at that price." If sales aren't good, it'll be discontinued in a couple years. Just my two cents.

    Id rather have the Kershaw Iridium or Sencut Serene. The Butterfly tax stamp is ridiculously prohibitive.

    • @TheScotchaholic
      @TheScotchaholic Год назад

      With all the quality cross bar lock options from other companies, it's pointless to pay the exorbitant butterfly tax, unless a particular Benchmade model is really appealing for a buyer.

    Yeah, this is a good knife, but would be an excellent knife if they actually made it in a size big enough for most people. Even the full-size version of this barely goes beyond the middle of my palm. It’s very awkward. I would have picked it up otherwise.

    Benchmade has literally lost their minds with the outrageous pricing they think their knives are worth! Heck throw a Hogue Decka in magnacut up against this lil thing and then realize you're able to buy two Deckas and still have money leftover for lunch 😂

  • @TheScotchaholic
    @TheScotchaholic Год назад +1

    Whatever, I'll stick with the larger Hogue Deka in Magnacut or a Spyderco PM2 in Maxamet - both cheaper than this ripoff.

    This was the only new Benchmade that had my interest when it was first announced last year, as I typically edc smaller knives. However, I will not be making the purchase. This is just too expensive. This doesn’t give me anymore functionality than a Spyderco Dragonfly or Meerkat, and less functionality than a Delica or Para 3. Spyderco offers these tools in a variety of steels including K390 or Maxamet for much less money.

    BenchMade lost all of my respect when:
    1) They contributed to Killary’s 2016 campaign.
    2) They helped the Oregon City police department destroy confiscated guns.
    I live a few miles from them and would NOT buy anything from them. And I had one of their original balisong’s from the 80’s from Pacific Cutlery (before they became BenchMade).
    Just know where your money goes when you buy something.

    Benchmade is a joke anymore. Selling pinky knives for full size pieces. They can’t come up any cool designs anymore. Overpriced junk.
    Zero Tolerance is still reasonable priced and doesn’t use all that plastic on their knives.
