My Paul Manafort Sr. story is that, around 15-ish years ago when I was working at a Wal-Mart in CT, he came in with some guy who I guess was his assistant. Anyway, I was at the service desk, and he was trying to return something without a receipt. When I went into the usual thing about needing a receipt, and that we could give a gift card or exchange with ID, he showed me his ID and the assistant guy was like "Do you know who he is?" when I was reading the name, and I, having long ago checked out on caring about a Wal-Mart job, allowed something along the lines of "The guy with all the corruption?" to escape my mouth, and the assistant guy responded with something like "That's right, he has connections" like what I said was a compliment.
Amazing, lol. Also, what connections could possibly matter to a Walmart employee. It’s a job so bad people often leave it off their resume when applying for new jobs because it’s literally no better, and sometimes worse, than a gap in employment history
Who had "fucking IG Farben yet again!" on their bingo card? Edit: also the phrase "there's nothing as dangerous as an idiot with a trick up his sleeve" just needs to be in common parlance and a chapter title in every history book.

Manafort may have wanted to meet Machiavelli, but Machiavelli would have DESPISED him. I wonder if Manafort knew that.
Never listened to anything of Dave Ross before but he's really likeable. Enjoyed you having him on as a guest!
I gasped when he mentioned how few lobbies there used to be.
