Hardstyle is known for having what is basically an "inverse" bass-note. Typical NC/BM here- hard-hitting yet melodious. The Wiki-article on techno > trance > and the various subgenre thatspawned from those humble beginnings is pretty good. To think it spawned from Inner City (and arguably from way before IE: Kraftwerk). Good times.
