As an agnostic, I find this series/podcast to be very well done. I have learned a lot about Christianity and how things got complicated, as if religion wasn't complicated enough. While I do think you are a little biased in your statements, that is kind of unavoidable. You also brought up some questions I had myself, specifically about certain things, such as how the churches/sects of Christianity seemed to have changed their minds about heresies, homosexuality, and other things. Whether this is seen as a good or bad thing, that is up for debate, but I do agree that it is half hearted and is more politically motivated than spiritually motivated. The scandals don't exactly help their legitimacy in my eyes, especially with their reputation with their relationship between their priests and children.
Protestants seem to be better in the sense that individuals can interpret texts as they wish without worrying if they are proper christians or not, but ironically can't seem to agree to disagree. You would think that those fighting against dogma wouldn't create their own, but alas, we kind of see that with the many different forms of protestantism. And that's not mentioning the politics of protestantism and how it was used as a political tool against the pope for many medieval nations. I know fighting with fire is necessary sometimes, but it seems the fire just spread wider than ever before.
Orthodox christianity isn't perfect either. While I don't know as much about it as the other 2 churches, I have heard of the Eastern Orthodox church, more specifically the Russian Orthodox church, to be a political pawn of the state, rather than agreeing with their fellow patriarchies. Maybe that is more of a jab on the Russian Orthodox Church than Eastern Orthodoxy as a whole, but it's important to see how institutions can change on a dime if there are pressures encouraging them to. Whether these pressures are good or bad is up for debate.
Now a bit of an anecdote, I find that Orthodox christians are far more welcoming than the other two churches. I feel the love people have for what they believe in, rather than fearing repercussions, or judging others for not being perfect. While this might just be confirmation bias, I think it shows that Orthodox Christians are better able to embody the teachings of the Bible than other sects. While it is up for debate whether or not they are misguided in their beliefs, I can say that (for the most part) they are compassionate people, and they make me feel at home, even when I ask certain questions that would have ticked others off.
I know this is a bit of a ramble, but I have been thinking of becoming a Christian. I like the ideas of Christianity, but there are certain things that make me hesitate, such as church corruption, flipflopping of beliefs, and certain ideas that don't make sense to me. Maybe the Orthodox Church is right for me, I don't know, I am still wondering if it is the right choice for me, but even if there are certain things I don't fully understand, as long as I try to be better for my fellow man, for myself, and for some higher power, is it really hurting anyone?
Anyway, thank you for making this. I have a lot to think about.

Something that is truly remarkable is the fact that Holy Orthodoxy has been maintained even under intense outside pressure.
For example there is the period often termed the "western" or "latin captivity" from around the time of the reformation through about the 19th century when much university education and catechesis in Orthodox lands was conducted in latin by jesuits or via essentially slightly edited texts that were often roman catholic in origin.
The faith was maintained despite this simply because the texts and practices of the services were not changed and eventually people noticed the disconnect between our theology expressed in the services and this "pseudomorphosis" from heterodox elements.
When the "neopatristics" period began in 19th century through 20th century a lot of the damage was undone via the disconnect between our services and the at best subpar and ignorant catechisms and at worst literal jesuit attempts at subversion of Holy Orthodoxy.
This is why for much time saints such as St. Gregory Palamas were ignored and supressed.
Its very clear that on many levels vatican II was ecclesiastical terrorism on the laity by replacing the older service with a modern variant.
Much of the last 500 years of papist history when it comes to their interactions with the Orthdoox can be summed up as "the papists cry out as they strike you."

There would be no reason for Satan to attack the Catholic Church if it didn't have its own merit. We should seek to pray for the church, the Pope, and seek a good outcome from it rather than discounting it altogether. May they come back to the Truth, become revitalized, and potentially and what is my own wish, is for true ecumenism of the churches.

I’m Orthodox, but to be fair: the document does say the blessing is “for the people themselves in the couple” and not a blessing of their union specifically.
BUT the next question is: why couldn’t they bless gay people before, if that’s really what it’s about? I don’t see anything controversial about a priest saying “God bless you” to anyone. So why such an elaborate document to explain this?

Catholicism doesn’t contradict itself. You are reading these one liner statements like “CC said at one point that there is no salvation outside the church, but said that there is salvation outside the church at a later date.” As though there isn’t any nuance to either statement than what you are reading at face value.
    Like, brother… no… stop it 😂
And before I explain I want to capitalize on the fact that there are far more things unifying Eastern Orthodox with Catholicism than not. You take the most controversial “Catholic doctrine” in the minds eye of Eastern Orthodox and you can find a doctrinally sound teaching. You kind of have to stop having this perceived ideal image and freaking out when the adversary writes “Catholicism” over your picture with a red marker - no different than how Protestants have to work out apostolic teachings if they are to have the fullness of the truth.
The RCC does still hold that it is the only way to salvation, but Vatican 2 included that every separated church has elements, key word “elements”, of the divine truth revealed to us by Christ - albeit incomplete. It is still dogmatically true that salvation is through Christ’s church, but that doesn’t mean every Protestant is damned.

Sad to hear your experience, while don't be tricked by the devil... I'm more a fun-da'-mentalist Christian, meaning i look at Christianity 101 is Mat 5, 6, 7. If anyone can find a problem or something overly bad, i'll quit Christianity immediately. But I can't find any fault with what Christ (the one whom we should focus on and strive to follow) And fundamental more in the way if the Bible isn't clear that x or y is right or wrong or it is something added by man as much in Catholicism then it is a false teaching and simply wrong. Over all as much as i've studied Catholicism it seem to me the very best deception to lead as many people in to hell with himself. There are those like you turned off from the legalism and rules, condemnation and the like, that is one side of it, but even those living by it and leaning on the theology of the Roman Catholic doctrines, they are trusting and leaning on a false gospel. As we read in John 4:4) God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
True Christianity you'll know it, when you encounter it... I love looking at and reflecting on:
Rom 2:4) Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
      5) But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
      6) who will render to each person according to his deeds:
Fair to say 180 degrees off/different than Catholicism? The kindness of God that lead one to repentance...

In the Catholic church an excommunication is a formal canonical process and is not automatically applied simply by the issuance of an anathema in the council’s decrees. Although, several Protestant beliefs were anathematized, individual Protestants were not automatically excommunicated without specific ecclesiastical adjudication. Some Protestants were formally excommunicated, but asserting that there was a blanket excommunication is inaccurate. Also, the Catholic church has always recognized Protestants as baptized Christians.

So, even some heretic & schismatic who is outside of RCC shed his blood for Christ, he will end in the Hell, because there is no salvation outside RCC.
I still believe that there is no slavation outside Church (real Church, not RCC), because there is no eternal and blessed life outside Christ's Body i.e. Church.
RCC nowdays does not believe what was her infallible teaching in the past, RCC is from beginning in 11-th century changing her doctrine to accommodate her political ambitions and now is not polically correct to promote EENS in the age of ecumenism & Antichrist.

And their baptism as invalid as well.
Sacraments are working only in the Church.
But Holy Spirit is working in people outside the Church to become members of Christ's Body - Church.

@emilbrusic6032 yes and no. There are some jurisdictions that will accept the baptisms of Lutherans, Anglicans and a few other mainline high church prots. I say they accept them because they receive these converts via chrismation. For example, Fr Seraphim Rome (Memory Eternal) was received via chrismation.
Some Orthodox churches tend to be more liberal with Canon law and some tend to be more conservative with Canon law.

Bad compromise is not new thing.
Reason that some recognize baptism from heretics & schismatics, although they don't immerse three times, is ecumenism.
If some 'jurisdiction' does not recognize heretical baptism, then there will be no more ecumenical meetings between them.
ROCOR was in those times between World Orthodoxy and True Orthodoxy, they anathemized ecumenism, and in the same time had relations with ecumenical 'jurisdictions'. Father Seraphim Rose was true orthodox, and that is reason why World Orthodoxy will not canonize him.

In those times Rome, first Rome, was more orthodox than second Rome, Constantinople.
That is reason why first Rome had more authority, but as I wrote, it was not because of Rome or Petar and Paul, but because of orthodoxy of Rome.
Nobody believed that Roman bishop is vicar of Christ and has more authority than Ecumenical Councils.
But when Roman popes had started with innovations against tradition, even making papism, it was downfall like no other patriarchate.

      @@emilbrusic6032 Simply not true.
Now, that the Roman Pontiff, the successor of Peter and Vicar of Christ, is the first and greatest of all the bishops, is stated in the canon of the Council which reads: “According to the Scriptures and definition of the canon we venerate the most holy bishop of old Rome as the First and Greatest of all the bishops.” Lib. 94, 23-26; cf. Conc. Constant. 1, can. 3 (Mansi 3, 560 C) and Justinian, Novellae CXXXI c. 2.
And Chrysostom commenting on the text of Matthew !8 when the disciples came to Jesus and asked, who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, says: “For they had created in their minds a human stumbling block, which they could no longer keep to themselves; nor did they control their hearts’ pride because they saw that Peter was *preferred to them and was given a more honorable place.”*
It is also clear that he is the superior of the other patriarchs from the statement of
Patriarch Ignatius of Constantinople to Pope Hadrian II, 867 A.D:
Wherefore He said to Peter, *the great and Chief Apostle* 'Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. 'And again, 'I will give you the Keys of the Kingdom of heaven, and whatever you shall loose upon earth shall be loosed in heaven, and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.' For such blessed words He did not circumscribe and define to the Prince of the Apostles alone by a kind of chance, but through him he TRANSMITTED THEM TO ALL WHO AFTER HIM AS SUCCESSORS WERE TO BE MADE CHIEF PASTORS AND DIVINE AND SACRED PONTIFFS of Elder Rome.
And Chrysostom commenting on the Acts of the Apostles says that “Peter is the most holy summit of the blessed apostolic choir, the good shepherd.”
And this is also manifest on the authority of the Lord, in Luke 22:32 saying: “You, once converted, confirm your brethren.”
It is also shown that the Vicar of Christ has universal jurisdiction over the entire Church of Christ. For it is recorded of the Council of Chalcedon how the synod wrote to Pope Leo: ”Besides all this, he (Dioscorus) extended his fury even against him who had been charged with the *CUSTODY OF THE VINE BY THE SAVIOUR. We refer to YOUR HOLINESS.”*
And Pope Leo himself taught ”Through the most blessed Peter, chief of the Apostles, the holy Roman church holds the principiate *OVER ALL THE CHURCHES OF THE WHOLE WORLD”* (Epist #65, M.P.L. 54.879)
And Chrysostom commenting on Matthew says: “The power which is of the Father and of the Son, the Son conferred *WORLDWIDE on Peter* and gave a mortal man *AUTHORITY OVER ALL THINGS IN HEAVEN,* giving him the keys in order that he might extend the church *THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.”*
And in homily 85 on John he says: “He allocated James a determined territory, but he appointed Peter, Master and Teacher *OF THE WHOLE WORLD.”*
And commenting on the Acts of the Apostles: “Not like Moses over one people, but *THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD, Peter received from the Son POWER OVER ALL those who are His sons.”*
And in the person of Christ, he says: “Feed my sheep (John 21:17), that is, *IN MY PLACE BE IN CHARGE OF YOUR BRETHREN.”*
And St John Damascene says ”The master has appointed you [Peter] as director not of tabernacles, but of the Church *THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD.* YOUR disciples, YOUR sheep, the good chief shepherd has put *INTO YOUR HANDS.”*
      And St Gregory Nazianzen says:
"Regarding the faith which they uphold, the ancient Rome has kept a straight course from of old and still does so, uniting the whole west by sound teaching- as is right, since she *PRESIDES OVER ALL AND GUARDS THE UNIVERSAL DIVINE HARMONY."*
And St Stephen Of Dor ”And for this cause, sometimes we asked for water to our head and to our eyes a fountain of tears, sometimes the wings of a dove, according to holy David, that we might fly away and announce these things to the Chair which *RULES AND PRESIDES OVER ALL, I mean to yours, the Head and Highest,*
And St Maximus says: ”How much more in the case of the clergy and church of the Romans, which from of old until now *PRESIDES OVER ALL THE CHURCHES UNDER THE SUN?”*
This is also taught on the authority of Holy Scripture. For Christ entrusted His sheep to the care of Peter without restriction, when he said in the last chapter of John: Feed my sheep; Therefore, if the eastern pseudo orthodox or protesters should say that they are not confided to the authority of Peter and his successors, they neccessarily confess to not being the sheep of Christ.
It is also established that the Roman Pontiff possesses a fullness of power in the Church. For Chrysostom also says
      (Hom. 5, de Poen., 2)
"After that grave fault (for there is no sin equal to denial) after so great a sin, He brought him back to his former honor and entrusted him with the *HEADSHIP of the Universal Church,* and what is more than all He showed us that he had greater love for his Master than any of the Apostles, for said He, 'Peter, lovest thou Me more than these?' "
      And Cyril of Alexandria says
"Then He names another honor: 'Upon this Rock I will build My Church.' Observe how He manifests Himself Lord of heaven and earth, for He promises to found the Church, assigning immovableness to it, as He is the Lord of virtues, and over this He sets *Peter as Shepherd.”* (P.G. 72:424)
And Pope Gelasius “the Church throughout the world knows that the See of blessed Peter has the right of loosing what any pontiffs have bound, since this See possesses the right of *JUDGING THE WHOLE CHURCH, and NO ONE MAY JUDGE ITS JUDGEMENT.” epist 26, sect. 5,
This is also taught on the authority of Scripture. For in Matthew 16: 19 the Lord said to Peter without restriction: Whatsoever you shall bind upon earth shall be bound in heaven.
It is also shown that Peter is the Vicar of Christ and the Roman Pontiff is Peter’s successor enjoying the same power conferred on Peter by Christ. For the canons of the Council of Sardica says
Canon III: "If a bishop shall have been deposed and considers he has right on his side, so that a fresh sentence ought to be pronounced, *let us honor, if it pleases you, the memory of the Apostle Peter;* let those who have examined the case, or those who dwell in the neighboring province, write to the *Bishop of Rome, and he will furnish arbitrators."*
Canon IV: "Bishop Gaudentius said 'If a Bishop deposed by the judgment of his region demand himself a new trial, let no successor be given to him *before the Bishop of Rome, having decided the affair, has pronounced judgment."*
Canon V: "Bishop Hosius said: 'It has pleased us to add: If a bishop accused and deposed by the bishops of his district, in order to appeal about it takes *refuge with the blessed Bishop of the Roman Church to submit the matter to HIS decision,* let the latter, if it seem right to him, proceed to a new examination of the case, let him be worthy to write to the nearest bishops of his province to examine everything with care and exactitude and to decide according to the truth."
N.B. In a synodal Letter to Pope Julius, the Bishops gathered in the Council of Sardica noted:
"for this will seem to be most good and proper, if to the HEAD, that is, to the See of Peter the Apostle, the Bishops of the Lord shall refer from all provinces."
Likewise, Cyril, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, says, speaking in the person of Christ” “You for a while, but I without end will be fully and perfectly in sacrament and authority with all those whom I shall put in your place, just as I am with you.”
And John Patriarch of Jerusalem says
(d 593 A.D.) to the Archbishop of the Georgian monks who had a colony in his city:
"As for us, that is to say, the Holy Church, we have the word of the Lord, who said to Peter, Chief of the Apostles, when giving him the Primacy of the Faith for the strengthening of the churches. 'Thou are Peter, etc.' To this same Peter He has given the keys of heaven and earth; it is in following his faith that to this day his disciples and the doctors of the Catholic Church bind and loose; they bind the wicked and loose from their chains those who do penance. Such is, above all, the privilege of those who on the *First most holy and venerable See are the Successors of Peter, sound in the faith, and according to the word of the Lord, INFALLIBLE."*
And St. Maximos the Confessor says (580 - 662 A.D.):
"The Apostolic See (Rome)...from the very Incarnate Word of God and from all the holy synods of all the churches throughout the world in their sacred canons and definitions has received and possesses, *IN AND FOR EVERYTHING, DOMINION, AUTHORITY AND POWER TO BIND AND LOOSE.* With it, the Word, set at the head of heavenly powers, binds and looses in heaven."
And Stephen bishop of Larissa, to Pope Boniface II “The authority of the Apostolic See which was given by God our Savior to the chief of the Apostles exceeds the privileges of all the holy churches.”

@@emilbrusic6032 It is also demonstrated that to the Roman Pontiff belongs the right of deciding what pertains to faith. For St. Theodore of Studium (795 - 826 A.D.) to Pope Leo III:
"Since it is to the great Peter that Christ our God gave the Keys of the Kingdom and entrusted the dignity of the Chief of the flock, it is to Peter, that is to say, *His Successor, that ONE OUGHT TO SUBMIT EVERY INNOVATION which is made in the Catholic Church by those who turn aside from the truth.* That is what we humble and lowly monks have learned *from the ANCIENT FATHERS* ...I borrow now the cry of the Coryphaeus (Chief) of the Apostles, calling Christ to his succour when the waves of the sea were risen up, and say to your Blessedness who art the Representative of Christ, *'O First Shepherd of the Church which is under heaven', SAVE US NOW, we perish.* Imitate Christ your Master, stretch out your hand to *YOUR CHURCH* as He stretched out His hand to Peter. Peter began to sink in the waves, *whilst our Church is still ONCE MORE submerged in the depths of HERESY.* Emulate, we beg you, the great Pope whose name you bear [Pope Leo the Great], and just as he on the appearance of the Eutychian heresy, stood erect spiritually as a lion with his dogmatic letters, so in your turn (I dare to say it because of your name) roar *DIVINELY,* or rather send forth your thunders against the present heresy. For if they, usurping an authority which does not belong to them, have dared to convene a heretical Council [of Hieria with 338 Bishops in 753 A.D.], while those who following *ANCIENT CUSTOM, HAVE NOT EVEN THE RIGHT of convoking an orthodox one WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE,* it seems absolutely necessary, we dare say it to you, that your *DIVINE PRIMACY* should call together a lawful Council, so that the Catholic Dogma may drive away heresy and neither your primacy may be anathematized with all the orthodox by these new voices without authority, nor that wills wickedly disposed may find in this adulterous Council an excuse for being involved in sin. It is *ORDER TO OBEY YOUR DIVINE AUTHORITY AS CHIEF PASTOR* that we have set forth these things as it befitted our nothingness, we the least members of the Church."
      And Pope Pascal is termed:
*"THE ROCK OF THE FAITH,* ON WHICH IS BUILT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, FOR YOU ARE PETER, who adorn and govern the See of Peter."
”Philip, presbyter and legate of [Pope St Celestine I] said: ‘We offer our thanks to the holy and venerable synod, that when the writings of our holy and blessed pope had been read to you . . . you joined yourselves to the holy Head also by your holy acclamations. For your blessednesses is not ignorant that *the HEAD OF THE WHOLE FAITH, the head of the apostles, is blessed Peter the apostle.”*
      And St Nicephorus Of Constantinople
*”Without whom (the Romans presiding in the seventh Council) a doctrine brought forward in the Church could not, even though confirmed by canonical decrees and by ecclesiastical usuage, ever obtain full approval or currency. For it is they (the Popes of Rome) who have had assigned to them the rule in sacred things, and who have received into their hands the dignity of Headship among the Apostles.”* (Nicephorus, Niceph. Cpl. pro. s. imag. c 25 [Mai N. Bibl. pp. ii. 30]).
And St Ignatius Of Constantinople writing to the Pope said.
”Art has provided many physicians for the wounds in the limbs of men...but of wounds in the members of Christ our God and Savior, the Head of us all, and of His Spouse, the Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Supreme Chief and most powerful Word, Orderer, Healer and Master, the God of all, has produced *ONE ONLY AND PRE-EMINENT AND MOST UNIVERSAL PHYSICIAN, that is, YOUR FRATERNAL AND FATHERLY GOODNESS…*
This is why, since the most ANCIENT TIMES, each occasion that heresy and prevarication have come to light, YOUR PREDECESSORS ON THIS THRONE, that is to say, the Successors of the Prince of the Apostles, and imitators of his zeal for the Christian Faith, *have torn up the tares and destroyed the members which were corrupt or incurably affected."*
And St Athanasius said ”For Dionysius, Bishop of Rome, having written also against those who said that the Son of God was a creature and a created thing, it is manifest that *not now for the first time, but from of old, the heresy of the Arian adversaries of Christ has been anathematized BY ALL.”*
And Maximus in the letter addressed to the Orientals says: “ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH which have sincerely received the Lord and catholics everywhere professing the true faith look to the Church *of the Romans* as to the sun, and receive *FROM IT, THE LIGHT OF THE CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC FAITH.”*
Again speaking of Rome "she holds the keys of the orthodox confession and faith in Him and opens the only true and real religion to those who approach with godliness, while on the other hand, it shuts up and locks every heretical mouth that speaks unrighteousness against the most High“.
      And St John Cassian says
”That great man, the disciple of disciples, the master among masters, who wielding the government of the Roman Church, possessed the *PRINCIPLE AUTHORITY IN FAITH AND IN PRIESTHOOD.* TELL US THEREFORE, we beg of you Peter, prince of Apostles, *TELL US HOW THE CHURCHES MUST BELIEVE IN GOD”* (Cassian, Contra Nestorium, III, 12, CSEL, vol. 17, p. 276).
And St Peter Chrysologus told Eutyches: "We exhort you, honorable brother, to listen obediently to what has been written by the blessed Pope of Rome, since Blessed Peter, who *LIVES AND PRESIDES IN HIS OWN SEE, GRANTS THE TRUTH OF FAITH TO THOSE WHO SEEK IT.* For we, in our zeal for peace and faith, cannot hear cases about faith *WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE BISHOP OF ROME.* [Inter epp. S. Leonis, 25. PL 54: 743].
      And Pope St Simplicius said
"for the *NORM OF SOUND DOCTRINE PERSISTS IN THE SUCCESSOR OF HIM TO WHOM THE LORD ENJOINED THE CARE OF THE ENTIRE FLOCK,* with whom he promised to be present *EVEN TO THE END OF TIME,* against whom he promised that the gates of hell would NEVER prevail, and testified that WHATEVER was bound by HIS sentence on earth could not be loosed EVEN IN HEAVEN." [CSEL 35: 127-8].
And the bishops of Cyprus held a synod 29th May, 643, against the Ecthesis. They wrote to Pope Theodore: "Christ, our God, has instituted *YOUR Apostolic chair, O holy HEAD, as a GOD-FIXED AND IMMOVABLE FOUNDATION.* For thou, as truly spake the Divine Word, art Peter, and upon THY foundation the pillars of the Church are FIXED, and to you He committed the keys of the kingdom of Heaven. He ordered you to bind and loose with authority on earth and in heaven. *THOU ART SET AS THE DESTROYER OF PROFANE HERESIES AS CHIEF AND LEADER of the orthodox and unsullied faith.* Despise not then, Father, the Faith of our Fathers, tossed by waves and imperilled; disperse the rule of the foolish with the light of *THY DIVINE KNOWLEDGE, O MOST HOLY. Destroy the blasphemies and insolence of the new heretics with their novel expression*
And rightly so, for Peter is recorded as the first to have, while the Lord was enlightening him, confessed the faith perfectly when he said to him: You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And hence the Lord also said to him (Lk. 22:32): I have prayed for you, Peter, *that your faith faileth NOT.”*
It is also shown that to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is neccessary for salvation:For St Cyprian said “To be in communion with Pope Cornelius is to be in communion with the Catholic Church” (Ep. Iv., n. 1).
      And St Ireneaus
”by pointing out here the succession of the bishops of the greatest and most ancient church known to all, founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul, THAT CHURCH which has the tradition and the faith which comes down to us after having been announced to men by the apostles. With *THAT CHURCH,* because of its preeminent authority, *ALL THE CHURCHES MUST AGREE,* that is, *ALL THE FAITHFUL IN THE WHOLE WORLD,* and it is *IN HER* that the faithful everywhere have maintained the apostolic tradition” (Against Heresies 3:3:2).
And St Maximus The Confessor says
”For ever since the Incarnate Word of God came down to us, *ALL THE CHURCHES OF CHRISTIANS EVERYWHERE have held that greatest Church there [In Rome]* to be their *sole base and foundation, since on the one hand, it is in no way overcome by the gates of Hell, according to the very promise of the Saviour”*
      And Pope Leo said
"[So today through the bishops] the care of the Universal Church would converge in the ONE SEE OF PETER, and *NOTHING SHOULD EVER be at odds with this HEAD”*
      (Letters 14:11)
And Pope St Boniface I said ”It is clear that this Roman Church is to all churches throughout the world as the HEAD is to the members, and that *whoever separates himself from It, becomes an exile from the Christian religion, since he ceases to belong to its fellowship."*
      Epist 14,1
St Jerome said “As I follow no leader save Christ, so I communicate with none but your blessedness (Pope Damasus), that is, *with the Chair of Peter. For this, I know, is THE ROCK ON WHICH THE CHURCH IS BUILT*
And the formula of Pope Hormisdas said
”Wherefore, as we have already said, following *IN ALL THINGS the Apostolic See and preaching WHATEVER HAS BEEN DECREED BY IT,* I hope that I may deserve to be in one communion with you, which the Apostolic See preaches, in which is the *COMPLETE AND TRUE SOLIDITY of the Christian religion.* I also promise that during the celebration of the sacred mysteries, I shall not recite the names of those who were separated from the communion of the Catholic Church, that is, *those who do not agree IN EVERY RESPECT WITH THE APOSTOLIC SEE.* This profession of faith I have signed with my own hand, and offered it to you, Hormisdas, holy and venerable Pope of the city of Rome."

For the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as means of salvation which derive their efficacy from the very fullness of grace and truth entrusted to the Church".
"Some and even very many of the significant elements and endowments which together go to build up and give life to the Church itself, can exist outside the visible boundaries of the Catholic Church: the written word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, and visible elements too. All of these, which come from Christ and lead back to Christ, belong by right to the one Church of Christ"

Not exactly fair to compare RC (large/widespread/mainstream) to EO (tiny/fringe) - these two are often contrasted as “two halves” but we are really not comparing apples to apples - RC is >5x bigger than EO. In America we’re talking RC home 71 million compared to the EO diaspora numbered between 6 hundred thousand to ~1million. Of course you’d encounter a more traditional “taste and see” artisanal/alternative experience in the diasporic communities of Eastern Christianity. It is easier to appear coherent, pure, beautiful and “untouched” when you’ve had the fortune of being “off the grid”. RC has had a different history carrying Christendom on their back, and so we still carry burdens and have many knots to untangle. We are not only 5x the size of the East but we are in direct confrontation/dialogue with Protestantism/secularism. This helps explain some of the silliness we see.
The leaders of our Latin Church felt the pressure to adapt our liturgy to these unique and unprecedented developments. We also had a centralized and organized authority/institution able to make “reforms” to the liturgy in hopes of making it more suited to “non-western” peoples, protestant Christians, and “modern man”. The fact that the EO liturgy of tiny decentralized diasporic immigrant churches all retain their traditional liturgies says nothing of the truth or faithfulness of “Orthodoxy”. It’s literally the nature of being a small religious sect originating from a traditional non-western culture with little power or reason to change.
At the risk of sounding rude, fleeing to “the East” feels like little more than another form of Prot-like sectarian restorationist escapism. It is really not the oasis and bulwark of “apostolic civilizational Christianity” it pretends to be. Frankly western converts appear guilty of a form of religious exoticism not unlike “converts” to Buddhism/hinduism back in the day. The fight is happening in Rome. And as Rome goes, so goes the world.

      Your argument is not valid.
Big number of members is not justification for heresies.
But the World Orthodoxy who is in the same ecumenical movement with RCC, protestants, monophysites and with mohamedans & pagans (see ecumenical meetings in Asizi), is not different in essence with RCC.
So, author of video is only right if he belongs to the True Orthodoxy which is many times smaller then World Orthodoxy (so your false argument is even 'stronger').
But if his bishop belongs to the sinod of bishops who recognize RCC as christian Church, i.e. sinod is member of the World Council of Churches, then his right argument against RCC is against his Church as well.

Papism is new innovation in the last century of the first millenium, and it was seed for humanism and for the Antichrist.
Because Roman patriarch was elevated as super human and godly being who is infallible and every human creature should be under his authority, otherwise he would end in the Hell.

@@untoages I'll try be brief. The Bible or Scripture is not what saves you, believing in Jesus Christ is the key.
Same goes for your church or 'club'. It is human nature to want to identify with a group or mob, but you will stand to account before Jesus Christ as an individual. There is a place for fellowship, it doesn't give salvation.

@@KMisty1 Jesus came to establish a Church, so to equate that with a “club” is blasphemous, a-historic nonsense. Read a book. The Church MEANS something and it was very important to the early Christians that one remained WITHIN the boundaries of it. Jesus also said He would send the Holy Spirit to guide the Church, Who would lead it into all truth. In this regard, yes, historical consistency matters. Does said ecclesiastical body believe what they believed 100 years ago? 500? 1000? Has it even existed for that long? These details matter when it comes to finding the Church established by Jesus and His apostles, which we know happened roughly 2000 years ago. To suggest that the Holy Spirit did NOT preserve His Church in its fullness throughout history is to call Christ a liar - and at that point, the jig is up and you may as well not even call yourself a Christian. As for how one is saved, I addressed that in my video called “Why Faith Is Not Enough.” Anyone can quote scripture, I do it all day long in these videos. I pray you listen to them with ears to hear and realize that doctrine matters. God bless.

I fail to see the purpose of this video. You will not make any catholic leave his/her church. You are just justifying for yourself why you are an orthodox Christian. As a catholic I can argue that you are failing in your orhtodox belief as you are not following the pope (and this is beyond the question whether we like him or not). In fact your video is contrary to God's will, e.g. let here be only one flock (John 10:16). Let's pray of one united church once again. brothers in Christ please unite in these desperate times. There is not much that differs the eastern orthodox and the traditional catholics! the apostolic succession is in tact and your rites are also valid in the roman catholic church.

In the Creed, when it refers to “One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church” - doesn’t the “one” part matter? Forgive me for assuming Catholics abide by that Creed.

There is nothing incorrect. The RC Church used to literally burn Orthodox Christians alive if they didn't submit to the Pope. This was during the Uniate crisis in Eastern Europe.
If you didn't submit to the Pope, you were a heretic damned to Hell. Period. I also came from Protestantism. And I have no reason to choose a side other than historical evidence.
Roman Catholicism has innovated a myriad of things since the Great Schism.
With little things as simple as only needing the bread in the Eucharist for the laity, which isn't what Christ or the Ancient Church did.
To massive things like Ad Orientum. (Yes, that is a huge theological statement.)
When Orthodox or SSPX Catholics reference Vatican II, we don't mean it in and of itself. We mean all the modernization and liberal spirited ideals became manifest in the language of Vatican II that used loose language to allow for WAY too many exceptions and work around. This is what essentially changed the Catholic Church. Not Vatican II itself.

They’re all like that so don’t bother.” While I won’t disagree with you that there are weaknesses in some churches, I’d encourage you to not give up hope. The fullness of the faith can be found in Orthodoxy, and while we’re certainly not without our problems, we’ve existed since the beginning and have preserved against great odds. Whether it was persecution from the Romans, Ottomans, or Bolsheviks, Orthodoxy has always survived.
