- Always wanted to know something about This Is Our Retirement and Tina and Norm, ask us a question. We posted on our community page a chance for you to ask us a question. We had over 100 questions and tried our best to pick some interesting ones.
This is a first ask me anything we have done on RUclips and had great fun reading your questions. Depending on the reaction to this video we may make a follow up to it in the future with other questions we didn't get around to.

Wow. I just wanted to pop in to say how nice it was that you shred your pension amount. So many people shy away from discussing specific financial numbers, but it's so incredibly helpful to planning when you see what other people are making it on, if that makes sense. One of our biggest fears is can we make it on what we would be getting. Being able to see actual numbers of what others are doing -- just so very helpful, and so generous of you for sharing.
We are glad you found it useful, we are real people trying to show the reality of retirement. Thanks so much for watching.
Tina and Norm... you often mention that you live in a smaller Ontario town with a view of water. What town do you live in? It would help to place a lot of your financial and retirement suggestions, advice, and caution into a perspective. Without this a lot of it is difficult to balance.

i've noticed that retired couples talking about their retirement are most often happy with each other....they look at each other often with an air of love and support which is quite nice to see.

Hi Tina and Norm. My wife and I are just a wee bit younger than you,61 and 62, and are eyeing retirement. Your RUclips videos give us insight and ideas about travel. We haven’t been anywhere, over 40 years dairy farming, hasn’t allowed us the free time, but we are looking to retire now from dairy and just grow crops, and your videos have been a wonderful source of information and ideas. We look forward to your videos each week. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us all.
Hello Bruce, Thanks for producing milk we need farmers to feed us! We are keen for folks to use their 60’s wisely while still fit and able with good mobility. I know this video is older but we absolutely loved it! My husband has retired a little over a year ago and I work part time. Loved learning a little more about you as a couple. You are truly blessed in your relationship with each other!

You are so right about adult children and their homes (I believe Norm referred to this in one of the first of your videos that I watched). It hadn't occured to me when we started thinking about downsizing. but it's really true. Our kids are proud of their homes and want us to come there. As well you mentioned in that earlier video that getting a recreational property is a great idea. We bought a cottage before the pandemic, and it has become the place where we all get together for wonderful family experiences. Thank you for another great video. Enjoy your Family Day weekend!

An idea for another video - I would love to hear your pros and cons of apartment living vs living in a house, like do you miss having a private backyard but not having to maintain it outweighs missing it? Would love a list of benefits and drawbacks of each.

Found your site a few weeks ago and have been binge watching since. Great to listen to your retirement experience. We are 67 and 65 and still working, but consider ourselves semi-retired with part-time jobs. (..just dropped our hours). It's working for us but only travel within the states. Also waiting for Covid restrictions to lift internationally.

Hi Tina and Norm. This was such an enjoyable Q&A session. Norm's custom of taking Tina her morning tea in bed reminded me of my Dad's custom of taking my Mom's morning small orange juice, her daily vitamin pill and a cup of coffee to her each day. As he was a Naval officer and was often away at sea sometimes as long as 6 months or 9 months she used to say that this custom was something that she appreciated so much when he was back home. It just started her day out in a nice way and made her feel so pampered and loved. It's too bad that more couples don't do this nowadays. Take care and have a pleasant weekend. 🤗❤🙏🌎

I loved the Ask Us Anything show today!! Please answer more questions on a future video. It was fun and informative (ie covid testing prior to travel & travel insurance). Also, I loved seeing those photos of you both when you were young. If you have other photos of when you were young/younger and first travelling together, those would be neat to see as well.

Technically Norm retired at 55 Tina still worked but when we moved for our full early retirement Tina was 58 and Norm was 60 Cheers 🍷🇺🇸🌺🇨🇦🍺
