I hate that companies don't tailor shades to pale people or dark skinned people, yet there is always 15 varying shades of Oompa Loompa Orange 😡
I totally get what you're saying here as I am mixed race so need something in the middle of pale and dark yet everything's either orange toned or yellow toned there's so few neutral mid shades even if they are supposed to be neutral they often oxidise and it is the bane of my makeup😡
+Alexandra Beall I've worn mineral powder foundation for years because they're so much easier to get a shade match. Would much rather wear liquid but the struggle is too real! You'd have thought in this day & age we'd have managed to make decent skin tone colours with all the technology in the world 😂
Same! One I've found that is pretty light is the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation in Light 42, it's one of my favorite foundations. It's a super thick foundation but you don't need much of it.
Other than that, foundation lighteners are my saving grace since the lightest shade of most foundations is too dark for me when I have a "tan" haha.
Vicky Nixon 😂
Exactly! The worst is when foundations turn you orange.
I find it really strange that people don't mind to use this applicator for concealer but when it comes to foundation they complain it's not hygienic.. What's the difference honestly?
I wonder the same thing!!
And if you're applying to a clean face, as it should be, what is the problem?
Amy Pippenger Unless you're using an antibacterial facial cleanser, you've got a lot of bacteria on your skin. Even antibacterial cleansers don't kill all germs.
So you're sticking your wand back in with bacteria on it and the bacteria have a perfect medium to grow: dark, warm and moist. So gross that you're continually applying bacteria on your face. I never use the wands for that reason.
Same goes for tubs of product that you have to dip into. I try to sterilize a tool as best as possible to remove the product I will use.
I think it's because the eye area is less likely to break out since the tissue around the eyes are different.
Sara Kang
people use their concealer to spot correct so your comment is completely flawed.
I wear this foundation every single day. Its 100% my holy grail. I wear shade #1 Linen. When I first apply it, it looks too dark, but I let it sit for 2-3 minutes and it lightens up and matches me perfectly. ❤
+Brandi Kilgore I totally forgot to mention that! It definitely lightens on your face and adjusts a bit which is awesome.
Good to know because I bought Linen months ago but haven't even tried it yet because when I swatch it on my hand it looks too dark. I was waiting for summer when I get a bit of a "tan" lol. I was going to buy Breeze but I have yellow undertones and it looks more pink. It was so hard to pick a shade online... Clinique has great foundations but they need to work on their shades!
MokaTutu Sorry this comment is old, but I'm glad I found this!! I bought linen as well recently and in Sephora it looked like a perfect match because of their stupid lights, but outside it was so dark... but if it lightens, I will give it a try! :-)
Hey! I'm neutral-yellow and am okay with lightening it, would it work? Cool foundations look gross on me:(((
hi!! can you help me with the shade? im nc 15 to 20 because foundation ALWAYS oxidises on me. even estee lauder has no match with my weird skin 😊
I'm obsessed with your foundation reviews!!!! You are truly a awesome, honest, and hardworking RUclipsr!!
+val11211 Thank you so much! :)
It is weird how much I love how monotone you are 😂
SAME!
Honestly I think it's refreshing lol. She's not over exuberant when talking and trying too hard.
I'm new to the world of makeup reviews, and so far, she's been my favorite. No shitty music, no crazy ups and downs in tone. I feel like I'm actually learning stuff right now.
Tiffany Lawlor I totally agree. I'm newer to your channel but I also like that you have a lot to say. You are intelligent enough that you can be descriptive without rambling the same generic words over and over.
Tiffany Lawlor SAME
I am so glad that your skin is similar to mine, I never know how good coverage really is when people with already flawless skin wear it! Awesome review!
I'd love it if you'd make a "no makeup" makeup tutorial for people that have problematic skin but still want to look like they woke up flawless. Thanks for what you do :)
her voice reminds me of April's from Parks and Rec
They have 40 shades now and I was able to get a pretty amazing match with shade WN01 Flax. I know super late but I just started using the foundation and I like it a lot
wow, you have come a long way baby - lol - just had to say that. I have been watching your videos for years and on a recent trip to T.J. Maxx, I bought the Clinique beyond perfecting foundation + concealer. When I went onto RUclips to look for tips on application & the product itself, your 6-year old video popped up on my feed and knowing I trust your opinion on products, of course I clicked on it. I was in awe to see your lip ring as well as the cystic acne...I forgot all about that - so that is why I say YOU'VE COME ALONG WAY BABY! From then to now, I value your videos and feel thoroughly entertained & informed. I'm 69 years young & still your fan!
When you like the video before you even watch because you know you're gonna love it 😍
+Daniela Ferrara
Love you!!! You are so chill and real. I look for your videos daily 💙💙
+Megan Brown Thanks Megan :) xx
whenever i get new video notification from you i literally have to stop everything i'm doing & watch lol. you look gorgeous!
+Margaret Johnson haha thanks lady! xx
everyone seems to be loving this foundation - I really want it!!
I absolutely love your foundation reviews they're so honest I'm so tired of foundation reviews lately from bigger RUclipsrs since they're so sponsored I can't tell you how many times I've been returning foundations lately or regretting to late after buying them /:
You are like the only makeup guru I trust for product reviews because you actually have real, imperfect skin, and you work it!
So I've been sitting in bed watching your videos for the first time, for an hour now. And I just want to say thank you. I have horrible skin and It makes me not want to leave the house. I have to try new foundation every couple months cause I'm always too broke to afford to look like a normal person. So watching all your stuff helps so much seeing what's going to actually work to cover the redness and junk on my face. thank you!
This has been the best foundation I have used so far! Can't live without it!
I got a sample of this with my last Sephora order. I never even gave this Foundation a second thought when it came out. I really don't wear Foundation anymore, I just go straight for concealer ...and I was shocked at how fabulous this product is. the sample was way too dark for me but I blended it down my neck and it still looked good even though it was too dark. my skin look amazing .. so smooth , plump, it never got greasy but it wasn't matte either, and it lasted all freaking day. with my oily skin that doesn't happen. it actually reminded me an awful lot of a thicker and more pigmented version of The Naked skin concealer ... that lasts longer. I was just knocked off my feet or how good the stuff is. apparently this is a Hidden Gem that nobody's really talking about.
Yes! Please make a mixer video soon! I just bought manic panic and I don't think that my skin likes it very much "/. I would love to know of other mixers that are good!! ❤️❤️❤️
Clinique released new shades in Even Better! THREE shades lighter than Breeze: flax, custard, and shell.
I would love to see you demo these. ❤️
Also leaving as a reference for other fair ladies. Shell is the lightest foundation I’ve ever used
I know it’s a different formula, but it’s still pretty exciting because Clinique has been historically bad at not having fair shades
If you want a subtle yellow setting powder to set your face, I suggest Mac's cc setting powder in the shade 'adjust'. It's super finely milled and I believe it's also talc free (great for problematic skin and avoiding a white cast in pics). I think you'd really like it 😊
The fit me powder helps with the shine on your forehead, this look is perfection!!
Your makeup looks flawless! You should do a tutorial on this look 💕
I swear I love YOUR CHANNEL! I always reference back to you because we lowkey have the same skin tone and I struggled with cystic acne and I went through accutain as well so when I need new foundations I’m always looking at what’s full coverage :)
You should try the new tarte double duty beauty "confidence" powder on top. It's hydrating and keeps literally ALL my liquid foundations looking beautiful on my skin.
So, it looks like they've come out with more shades? On Clinique's website, 0.5 is shell and 2 is breeze. They also have 40 shades. Clinique tends to run dark. If they now have lighter shades can you please review those? Love your video's!
I'm obsessed with this foundation. I wear linen and it's such a perfect color for me which is so hard for me to find. I love how affordable this product is it's been my go to recently. I'm super happy with this foundation I did a wear test on it myself with my normal skin and it literally didn't even change from the beginning on the day. I always love matching people to this foundation at work because it works on so many different skin types. I wish they'd come out with a lighter and also some darker shades though! this foundation is actually what got me into clinique as a whole. 💖
Hunter Milite what kind of undertone does it have? Is it quite fair? I'm having hard time trying to decide which shade to get online. Im usually the lightest shade in every foundation
the one I have isn't the lightest. breeze .05 is the lightest. linen is more of a neutral to yellow undertone. breeze is a pink undertone. on some people these oxidize a bit as well. I did a review with check ins with the color I have! but on me it personally didn't oxidize, settle, or get weird at all.
or maybe it's .5 I don't know the exact number but it's the first one if you go to the clinique section in ulta/sephora :)
Hunter Milite What's your Mac shade? Thanks!
Is linen lighter than alabaster ? The lady matched me with alabaster and it's definitely not a match😕.
Girl u saved mee!!! I bought the Manic Panic white foundation based on your recommendation to mix with my current ones which are waaay dark and I can finally wear them!
Just so you know..Clinique counters do have .5 & 1! I work at Clinique and we have it :)
Astonished that you haven't tried the RCMA KA Foundation Palette?! I have it and its amazing. The lightest shade in there is like an N3 - N5. Girl you need it in your life! X
Ulta stick one next please! As always love your videos 💜
I got the notification for your ig post and I'm so excited rn omg. I love your foundation tutorials so much! I relate so much bc I have acne too. Without your videos I wouldn't know how to manage my skin. Love love love your videos.
I just bought this foundation for the first time today! I've always been in the shade 'Alabaster'. After watching your video I'm even more excited to use it! Thanks for sharing!
I use this foundation in Alabaster and yes, is a really good one, it adjust a bit lighter, I apply it sparingly because I get cakey but it's the best I've used for photos.... You look amazing!!! Whenever I know they're shooting pics or videos I use this....
BTW they changed their shade range to 40 shades now! :)
I can now only wear Clinique foundations. It's the only kind that does not break me out! This looks great on you and awesome coverage :)
I feel like this foundation matches you PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!! It's so gorgeous!
your makeup looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL in this particular video!! i love it!
i never have to wait long for a video from you and you're my fave youtuber next to jeffree star and shaaanxo so thank you for always being on point af.
and relatable.
Please don't ever stop your reviews. LOVE THEM! Have you tried the Kryolan TV Paint Sitck to lighten foundation or use as a foundation? They have a pure white stick and a shade 00 which is SUPER light.
hey gurl, you should totally try the oil cleansing method, I used to have cystic acne when I was younger and all the cleansers/treatments/meds only helped short term. On a trip to a healthfood store the salesgirl mentioned the OCM to me but I also did tonnes of research and the absolute best oil to use is pumpkin seed oil due to oils being of different acidity, some have oleic acid and others have linoleic acid, oily prone/congested tends to lack linoleic acid so I use the pumpkin seed oil mixed with a couple of drops of bergamont essential oil, what a lifechanger, went from full coverage makeup to tinted moisturizer with lil concealers in less than a year, linoleic acid normalizes your skin and only oil can dissolve oil, all those harsh chemicals only make it worse..its my new holy grail and costs so little. :)
Dakargirl82 sunflower is also really good for acne prone skin and it's a bit easier to find
you look a lot like lorelai from Gilmore girls
lmao! I was Just thinking that
Especially from the 1st season.
This foundation makes your skin look reaaaallly beautiful! I might have to try it out for myself, because your skin looked so beautiful in this video that I'm convinced! Off to find a Clinique counter to play with some shades 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 thank you for this video!
They have new lighter colors now! Could you do an update?
I work for Clinique and the shades that are lightest are Breeze, Linen and Alabaster. Breeze is a pink undertone, Linen a golden undertone and Alabaster a neutral undertone. These DO dry darker as well so I would go lighter even than the one you need. The chart at the Clinique counter is much more concise and it lists them in the true order of lightest to darkest. Sadly Breeze and Linen were extension shades so I'm not sure they will add anymore on later since they already have :/ But for applying they suggest applying it with your hands actually. Kandee Johnson uses a beauty blender with hers and she raves about it. At the counter I apply it with a brush from the back of my (clean!) hand and it seems to do pretty well that way too 😊 I hope this helps someone out a bit!
what color is buttermilk
+Alejandra M. that's the shade I got the buttermilk and the lady at the clinique counter at Macy's chose it for me and it was too dark :( it's golden undertone
Do a tutorial on your makeup look! It was so pretty. 😊
The Shape Tape drama reminded me of when I tried to find my shade in this foundation, which I wanted sooo badly, but the lightest shade is way too dark for me as well.
Every Clinique foundation I've ever tried oxidizes like a mofo on me... And I NEVER have that problem even though I'm pale af. Even their concealers oxidize on me. It's awful.
Me too. The lightest shade turned me orange😥😥
+44GlenCoCo Me too. I'm very fair and was wearing the alabaster shade too, so it ended up hella orange on me. Nobody at a Clinique counter has ever told me there was a lighter shade available online.
Even their powder foundations oxidize like crazy! But I still love the finish so I just buy a shade lighter.
Same for me!
Same for me!!!
Just purchased this yesterday. So I’m watching videos on it. Love how it looks on my face.
Praying for a quick, and more importantly, SUCCESSFUL surgery! 🦋🦋🦋
oh i looove the sephora spray foundation. its the best thing thats ever happened to my face lmao. i want to see that next!
This foundation works really well with the benefit porefessional primer
Looking beautiful as always Taylor!
I used to use "Breeze" for years in one of their other foudations, but the Clinique counter where I live would rarely keep it in stock, so after trying literally everything, I switched to Mary kay Timewise Matte foundation in Ivory 3 and it is spot on. There is shade lighter and I am thinking Ivory 1 would match you well. I'd be glad to send you a tube if you want to try it. :)
i have really bad acne and i use this foundation and its amaaaaazingggg it covers everything
This is so great, my birthdays next week and I was thinking of buying this foundation with birthday money and then my fav youtuber makes a review on it 2 hours later bless
I think the reason that the star gazer white foundation really works for you with that foundation, is because the star gazer is incredibly matt. Which probably adds a great hold to the clinique foundation. I've tried it with the star gazer and I found the clinique foundation wouldn't dry down properly and needed a lot of powdering.
Just my opinion anyway ☺ xx
The finish of this foundation is so pretty! I think I'm going to have to get a sample to try it out.
Try Etude House Big cover bb cream, it's very very high coverage, and the shades are very light as well. I'm very interested to see you try it. It literally conceal everything!!!
Since your skin has changed and is dry, what is your opinion on this foundation now?
idk about any other locations but the ulta i work at carries clinique & has the shade .5 it does depend on the region you live but they are in order at ulta & way easier to figure out!
+JayneeGabriela i got mine at ulta in shade .5!
I got mine at Dillards and they had the 0.5.
Dillards doesnt exist where i live :/ but i find that my area does carry the lighest shades since those are the most popular here!
tarte gel! tarte gel! I have it and love it. it's got a pleasant chemical smell and it's super full coverage and feels good on.
I ordered the tarte gel with their one day Sale where you get 6 full size products and a makeup bag for only $59 so I picked out that foundation I hope I love it like you do! :) should arrive soon.
+Horsenmakeup 181725 oh it will not let you down!! man I wish I woulda known about that tarte sale!! 😩
I am seriously jealous of how your makeup turned out. When I'm trying to cover up acne it never turns out half as well. (Admittedly I have never tried to spend money on a higher end foundation though.)
Your skin looks so 😍 with this foundation on!! Definitely picking this up man
I'm beyond late but this is my go to foundation! I live in Florida and i work in a kitchen but this foundation holds up through it all! Even when i pat the sweat off, the foundation stays!
I used to have way worst cystic acne all over my face and neck. I had to use 2 medications to stop it and now I'm on birth control pills to keep it under control. I been super clear for about 4 years but my journey took me about 6 years to fully rid of cystic ance.
I love watching your foundation reviews. And... Thank you for always posting new foundation reviews. :) i LOVE foundations and am always on the hunt for new ones as well as searching for my holy grail, my foundation of all foundations. 😘
Your makeup looks soooo pretty in this video
I'd be curious for you to try Linen. Breeze is a pink undertone, while Linen is more yellow.
i just love you with dark hair! im gonna miss it!! looking forward to the gray though!
I knew I wasn't the only one! I bought this months ago, exchanged it 3 times because I couldn't find a light enough shade with the right undergone and I was pissed because I loved how it looked. I'm going to order the 0.5! Thank you!!! Oh yeah- what contour and blush are you wearing? Looks bomb!
Your videos are the best, I always look forward to them! I tried getting matched at a Clinique counter but as you said, it was waaaaaay too dark for me sadly. Love you!
You could sterilise the wand with antibacterial wipes after each use before putting the wand back into the container, this may make it more hygienic and less likely to cause breakouts
Always love your foundation reviews! Thanks for making life easier for others with fair skin :)
this look is gorg! (as always). foundation is stunning-this review is why I'm getting this foundation (and a sigma f80) loll. YOUR LASHES LOOK AH-MAY-SING! YAAAAASSSS HUNTI!
wow this was really helpful. i wanted to try this foundation and went into ultra bc they have an entire clinique section. i tested the 2 lightest shades they had and they were wayyyyy too dark and too orange for me so i just assumed that was it and i couldn't use this foundation. never would've thought they'd have lighter shades online!
I know this is an old video but now .05 Breeze is available in stores in Sask CDA and we don’t sweet crap all where makeup is concerned.
What products did you use on your cheeks? Your contour looks great!!
I tried it and actually returned it. 😔 it looked beautiful at first but after approximately two hours it started to break up on my oily areas. I tried numerous primers and powders. Shame really
Loved this foundation at 1st but then it began to make my skin SUPER oily/greasy looking ...but if u have drier skin its does have AMAZING coverage
You say it’s unsanitary to use the applicator on your face, but yet you use the concealer directly on your face.
Mela F because that’s how it works best.
Usually people don't have acne under their eyes but yep
Liberty Her and a lot of people use concealer on pimples to spot correct.
Love you with the black hair!
Love that foundation on you! I DO wish they would offer options, say maybe a small lighter formula that you can get to mix with the one closest to your skin, so that you can get the perfect match! I have a foundation right now that I am debating whether to exchange for a lighter (which may have more yellow or orange!, BUT is lighter) just to have that more natural match. I got a sample that was pretty good against my skin but it was a little thick and I was worried if I put it all over, being OLDER, it would settle in some lines (BUMMER!) so I just used it in certain problem areas and it covered really well and DIDN'T look cakey, dry , masky but gave a really nice clean finish to the skin. It also STAYED on well so I may get some for those LONG , hot, boring days!! I was a impressed they had a concealer to match! But Clinique does seem to limit themselves as far as color goes. They don't seem to go quite all the way there with very light or very dark skins, WHO knows why? BUT it does look nice on your skin, it looks fresh, nicely textured and NOT flat or lifeless like some for problem skin. It really does give your skin a really pretty ! I may have to try it on more than just some problem areas!
I've watched soooooo many of your foundation videos but this one to me looks pretty freaking good on camera, holy Crap 😍
The shade .5 is at Sephora! It looks like they carry all colors when I bought mine.
Nice, I bought shade nutty but I feel it's bit dark for my skin tone but it hides all my hyper pigmentation and dark circles so m loving it.
I bought this in ivory thinking it was the lightest color and it was so dark! it's now my summer foundation when I self tan.
Okay I must know. Which do you prefer? This Clinique foundation or the ester Lauder double wear foundation? I feel like you gave a very good review to both! I'm in the market for a high end good foundation.
I have been really wanting to use glambot which I know you like. Ever had any bad experiences with what you have got? Lip products and mascaras/eyeliners are what bother me the most, I feel like it could be very unsanitary but just wondering if they have any protocol for that...
our videos are one of my faves to watch you're so down to earth! You make me want to actually start posting videos
So happy you mentioned the setting powders you use because I was close to the screen hoping you would mention what they were 😅 thank you 😁
your intro makeup looks sooo pretty! :)
I am a Clinique business manager and we do carry the lightest shade .05 breeze in stores. The lightest shade is on the darker side unfortunately. You can pull out the top piece out to pour it but it tends to get messy.
daniellemariemuaxo hi! If you know the new shade ecru is lighter than breeze? Or if breeze is still the lightest shade? Thanks
daniellemariemuaxo Hi. I'm nc 20-25 what Clinique shade would you recommend? Thanks!
MrsArchenemy I'm not sure what shade that is I have never heard of it.
Mavic Belga if you are an nc25 I would try the shade "fair" it is I believe 05. When you first put it on it will appear slightly darker. The more you work it into your skin and as it dries it gets slightly lighter and typically a little less warm.
you should try the maybelline dewy + smooth powder since the matte and poreless one isn't exactly what you're looking for ! :)
your skin looks AMAZING!
I am so getting this next payday. I don't have that much of imperfections to cover but it would be nice to have a full coverage foundation in my collection for special occasions
This stuff is awesome. I love it, can't live without it. It is by far the best. It has no fragrance which I love. Love, love , love this stuff
Have you ever tried the regular Maybelline Fit Me powder instead of the matte? It's great and leaves the perfect amount of luminosity!
Thanks so much for this awesome review!!! Your foundation reviews are always so good!!! xx
