This is my holy grail foundation. I have dry skin with a lot of acne scars. I don't break out very much any more but it does a great job covering any problem areas I have and I don't need to use any other concealer (besides one under my eyes in a lighter shade). i use Real Techniques sponge and it goes on great. I wore it for 12 hours today and it didn't fade at all or cling to dry spots.
When you have problem skin, priming is everything. I have oily skin and I love this foundation . I use Nivea men's post shave balm, let it dry, then a small amount of l'oreal infallible primer on top. I think 1 swipe would have worked if you hadn't put it on your forehead first, as it's got no breakout there, so only needs a small amount of foundation. Also if you have any under eye creasing, set with powder immediately after concealer then it keeps creasing to a minimum. Hope these wee hints help you 😊
I have oily acne prone skin and I love this foundation. Used with a primer it's long lasting and has excellent coverage. Also, I don't use it as a concealer. I use a separate concealer for the under eye and any acne scar that needs extra coverage. I
no hate on you personally bc I've heard a bunch say this about how the applicator "doesn't seem sanitary" which kind of makes no sense bc pretty much all concealers have those type of applicators so I don't see the difference at all.
I have this foundation in he color breeze as well and I was very happy with it. The thing I loved the most about it is I had candid picture taken the night I wore it for the first time and it photographs amazingly well. Being as pale as I am (I got the lightest shade they make) sometimes you can photograph like a ghost but this one was not s flash out. It was beautiful looking on my skin. I did find it felt s but heavy yes but it covers Very well and wore great for me all day!! Definitely keeping mine. You have some heavy acne breakouts and scaring I don't know if any foundation is going to completely cover all that up.
I have this foundation in alabaster and I agree I had the same issues as you with it (I have combo skin) it feels heavy to wear, it creases, and clings to dry patches, and when I removed it I found my pores would be clogged. BUT I find it very useful as a concealer for spots (redness not textured) and under eye circles as a color corrector because the coverage is so full (I use the shade alabaster which is a bit orange for me) but usually I'd layer another concealer (nars cream concealer) over it thats closer to my skin tone and set with laura mercier eye brightening setting powder (or whatever setting powder I have atm) and that does the trick for me and you dont get left with the tacky/shininess. personally I don't think I'm ever not going to have that one line of creasing under my eye (I've tried so many different techniques) so I just accepted it ahaha :) Great video!
The texture thing is soooo important to me! I was considering this foundation so when you mentioned that it's bad for textured skin I knew I wouldn't get it. Any suggestions on a foundation for someone with textured skin?
I have this foundation and on my skin type, which is combination, it worked great. It lasted through sweat and humidity all day long. And by the end of the night I could still see my bronzer, contour, and blush
I don't know why but I really love that you don't name drop when mentioning something about other youtubers videos. It makes me feel like you are being unbiased and honest in your review. I know that may seem silly but it's just something I appreciate :)
I love you sooooo much today is the first day that i found your channel and i cannot stop watching your videos me myself is currently filming videos and have my own youtube channel as well (which is in chinese ) I have really bad skin (I wanna say too but mine is way worse then yours ) but i never got the guts to face the camera bare faced so im so envy of you and proud of you at the same time I will keep watching thank you for being you
My new favorite. I have dry skin and it NEEDS to be set with a powder. You also put so much under your eye where you have zero problems. To save on "double dipping" I swipe it on my hand and dip from there w/ my beauty blender. Thinner layers are better, I can't just slather it all on at once. Lasts all day. It will creep into mobile lines (like around the mouth) if not powdered. I love it,
I remember Watching your Acne Coverage Foundation Routine, and you had 5.000 subs, and now you have nearly 25.000. You're going to be one of the Big youtubers some day, just wait. You'll have Like 3.000.000 subs some day:)
I wear this foundation I find it amazing .. I don't use as a concealer under my eyes don't see why you would . I have dry skin nd I love it I do tend to get oily skin in summer aswell and does the job for me !! I'm hairdresser aswell I tend to swet nd it stays on . maybe it's just your skin
This foundation has 21 shades but usually you go lighter but you are right it appears darker with a "lighter name"! The Clinique person suggested a beauty blender and with acne regardless of the doe foot app it should cover your acne perfectly! I'm now almost 60 and had your skin at my age! Now I'm so glad I did!!! Oily skin has helped keep wrinkles at bay!!! And trust me the acne goes away and scarring now at my age is minimal!!! I think it looks good on you though!
You need to pick up a sample of the Marc Jacobs Re-(marc)able foundation. Super full coverage and it stays matte all day! I'm extremely oily and I have been blown away by this foundation. No touch-ups or powdering mid day. It is incredible!
I agree with some of the comments about maybe not applying correctly. I went into a store and spoke with a consultant. I have had acne for 27 years so I know alllllll about acne lol. I am loving this foundation. I am shade linen. And she used a tiny amount that she used a brush with. It did feel a bit tacky but then she set it with their powder and it set instantly and gave me great coverage. I also have oily skin so usually my foundation starts sliding off half way through the day but this didn't. She also used the foundation as a concealer and dabbed in certain areas. I use my beauty blender sorry as when I use it damp with any product it makes me shiny. Hope this helps xx
i dont know why i have this foundation, i love it..i have oily skin, live in pr,so a very humid climate, plus a have Rosacea..and it covered it all!!! and lasted hours under stressful weather while doing my pictures for my Love story for my wedding. i did apply it with my fingers and primed it with the milani matte finish primer. Btw,love the lipstick!!!!
I use to have acne like you do too I had to go to the dermatologist for antibiotics and I was on it for three months and it got rid of all the acne. I still have large pores and lots of scaring but I love this foundation.
I have dry to normal skin & i personally love this foundation. Looks great and wears great. I am sad that you do not like it. I would try other methods to apply specially if you are oily a beauty blender is not going to help because you're adding moisture to your skin. Try using a brush, something full that way you are able to pack. I have acne as well and this foundation is great. I just think you applied it wrong.
+Frida Lazo I already returned it a long time ago lol the Beauty Blender doesn't add moisture to your skin though, it's just water which evaporates shortly after!
That's true. I personally also have very oily skin and I love this foundation. She totally should've blended it with her fingers and a brush rather than the beauty blender. I personally use it with the original smash box primer and it wears great on me!
I have extremely dry skin and this is my holy grail foundation. I just lightly powder to set, and it lasts all day. I love it. Just shows we are all different... :)
that's so weird maybe it's just because of the blemishes bc I have this foundation and know many people that have this foundering and it's perfect and over 12 hour wear feels very weightless but your so beautiful and love your channel:))
Hi Sari, I have acne in the same areas of the face as you do. I purchased this foundation on a trip to the US but when I came back home and really tried it...I hated it! I fell the absolute same way: it's super heavy, weirdly creamy, it never dries and it doesn't look good. A couple years ago I had MAC Prolongwear foundation and I remember feeling bad about how much I could feel it on my skin, but at least it made me look good. This does nothing for me! I've been wearing their acne BB cream and it's great. It doesn't give me perfect coverage, but at least it feels like I'm not wearing anything.
Awww I was hoping this one worked! This summer my skin has turned SO oily not even my holy grail Revlon Colorstay foundation stays on my face after a few hours
I couldn't wait to get through that foundation. I didn't like it as a concealer either. It creases just like you said. It cakes up and gathers up in crevices. It doesn't work well with all primers. I think if you use a lotion-like primer it might work a little better. It's definitely not lightweight and not for all skin types. Most people that liked it were those with dry/combination skin types. Oily skin types that liked it had flawless skin and barely needed makeup. I've tried it in every application possible. I've tried all types of primers and powders. You have to set it with a setting spray for it to be decent. I don't like high maintenance foundations. I don't recommend it to people with problematic skin.
yeah I used to have acne and I used to use there acne solution foundation. They were never full coverage. now that I don't have acne I use this one and it works great! for better results you should put it on your hand first then add on as much as needed. also your so post to use an actual Concealer not the foundation. A primer is a must! (I love there products, as they are the best make up for your skin)
+Brenda Ortiz For these reviews I test the product exactly how the company recommends it be used. Clinique says specifically that "one dip of the wand" is enough and to swipe the wand on the different areas of your face so that's how I tested it out. It's also called the "2 in 1 foundation and concealer" so in theory if Clinique markets it that way, it should work as a concealer as well.
I use is one as well, I just put it on my hand first because I don't like wearing a lot if any make up ( I only wear makeup like once a week, for dates or ect. ) I think it's just called foundation + concealer because they put Concealer in there for more coverage not to highlight. otherwise it would be called foundation + under eye highlight
+Brenda Ortiz "Finish by using the pointy tip to spot conceal any trouble areas - under the eyes, around the outside of the nose, on top of blemishes. Pat and blend well with fingers." That's directly from Clinique's website, just saying that is how they recommend it lol
It's never been matte on me and/or and videos I've seen other people using it. I'm not sure why you don't use a primer I know you said you've stopped for a while or something but I think it would help a lot.
+Jade Hidalgo I understand. I use this foundation and I have very problematic skin with a lot of scaring but it's very oily. I use it with the Milani pore primer thing and a translucent setting powder and it is absolutely perfect. Different skin types will have different results. Which is why I don't agree with the claim it's a universal skin type foundation Also sorry for bad wording. English is not my first language
You've probably seen comments like this before but you should prime for texture and or oiliness, I mean I get the review could have been the fact you didn't prime due to the claims of the foundation but also I want to say you should bake right after you use it under the eyes, after that you wait 5-10 minutes and maybe set the foundation or just waited for most of it to set to the Demi- Matte finish, I totally agree it's not a "natural Matte "though
I have seen other reviews on this and they were all positive so I bought it and tried it today and I don't like it at all! I'm glad I'm not alone, I have combo skin and it made me look greasy and like sat on top my skin, I hate it!
I know a product who can clear out your breakouts! i had suffered with acne for 3years and thats the only product ive used to clear out my acne.. its the Nlighten kojic papaya soap.. its a korean brand.. trust me i have tried alot of products.. but this product works wonders on my skin..
Sucks this didn't work for you, and that it is so hit and miss with people. I thought I was going to hate it, and I love it. what have you found that you love.
"I actually saw someone applying it in a video" girl who's that someone?! :P I'd def love to know and I can't tell in the description. Also, I had really bad acne before I quit dairy and oily/fatty foods and Clinique's Acne Solutions is really, really, really good and helps cover it up nicely. I recommend it.
I just got this foundation. I really wanted to love it! But sadly it does the exact same thing it did as in this review. So happy it works great for others though! 🤗
I bought this recently and I really wanted to love it but I have to agree. It really enhanced the texture on my skin and got oily and felt masky. I had to return it :/
This vid is great. I'm completely with you on this. I really want to like this product but I don't think it suits my skin. I keep trying different ways to make it work but I guess ya can't win 'em all. You're really beautiful by the way. :)
I asked for a sample of this at Sephora and they said it was too dark for me :( I'm really not that light! I'm definitely not tan, but I'm just about your skin tone or a little darker. I'm a VIB too and the person "helping" me knew that so idk why they wouldn't give me one
The foundation colors do run a little dark depending on what store you go to. I went in to my local Sephora and picked out the lightest shade and even still it turned out wayy too orange for me :/ Maybe try another store?
I was recomended this for oily skin, seen so many great reviews but I have same problem as you, too shiny and really enhances my pores! Even more so when I put powder on, feels quite heavy on skin don't like the feeling
I've been using this foundation for a year and it totally works for me. My color is Creamwhip; and the applicator does work for covering your ace. However, I use Clinique Foundation Brush to even out. I then use Ciniques Stay Matte Poweder on top. Using Cliniques Buff Brush to blend over. But to be honest. + I use there 3-stp skin care system and Clinique Smart Line to improve my skin. Before I didn't and I had trouble with makeup. After using the Smart line. My Face has improved drastically, to the point wear I don't nee as much makeup. And my makeup goes on flawless.
Awesome video! Do you think you could do a video showing how much coverage you can get from the cover fx drops? I've been on the fence about getting them because I feel like there are so many mixed reviews.
+SariReanna maybe show how much coverage you can get mixed with a moisturizer? Every video I've seen, the girls have perfect skin and only mix in two drops. I have pretty bad scaring on my jaw line that I never seem to be able to cover up.
Thank you for this review. You're my new favorite RUclipsr 😍 I'm so happy that I found your channel! I have acne and acne scaring and my skin is very dry and patchy because of the acne treatment. I currently use the Clinique Acne Solutions liquid foundation. I'm using it because it's the only high coverage foundation that doesn't break my skin out. The shade range is horrible. I mix two shades together and it still looks ashy and patchy on my face and it also accentuates the texture and the fine lines on my skin no matter how much moisturizer I apply. Do you think this Clinique new foundation would work for me? Also, please please make a video about the high coverage foundations (and possibly other makeup products) that you used and didn't break your skin out.
+Catness Thank you so much for all of your kind words! I don't think you'd be a fan of this foundation based off of the things you don't like about the Acne Solutions one. I have a video all about my favourite foundations!! ruclips.net/video/ul9c7tVUJUQ/видео.html
You should try the BareMinerals original matte foundation + spot concealing with well rested (loose!) concealer :) That would make for a very interesting video =) I´m so sorry for your problematic skin, I can truly relate.. But I wasn´t half as confident as you seem to appear. You are SO sweet.. Merry christmas =)
I'm new to your channel and i loved this video :) but if you haven't given the hourglass immaculate liquid powder foundation it is AMAZING for oily skin and in general it's so flawless. Xx
I so wanted to love this foundation. The color match was amazing, the coverage was impressive, but the way it sat in any and every single line or bump, not to mention undereye creasing, was a real disappointment. It broke up after a few hours too, and I tried to apply it several ways, along with/without a primer or powder. It just didn't work for my skin so I had no choice but to return it :-/
I've been wanting to try this foundation for so long, but even though my acne isn't horrible my skin is sensitive to small breakouts and I'm nervous about it breaking me out
I like this foundation but the color doesn't quite match me :( I like the applicator. Several concealers I have are the same and I don't worry about bacteria with them so I don't worry with this. I wish I had a better color match.
+Katy Baby The problem with this product is that it creased IMMEDIATELY. I didn't even have time grab a powder before it would crease again and I don't know if you've ever tried setting an already creased product but it gets really gross.
I bought one it was a really small tube like a tester tube, cost me £20 and tbh it’s not 24 hour easily comes off, have u got any other tips to keep foundation coverage on
Hey totally irrelevant question but have you tried the cocoa contour palette by too faced? Has it caused breakouts? I just bought it and am scared to use it
+SariReanna how about the Lorac pro contour palette? :) I'm sorry I'm just so scared about contour palettes because the KVD one extremely ruined my skin! I'm still dealing with breakouts in those areas
I am fair skin but with a neutral to yellow undertone, we can't always tell on camera, so how would you describe the shade breeze? (: I dont want anything pink!
I have this foundation in 0.5 Breeze, 1 Linen, and 2 Alabaster. I fake tan sometimes, so I need to mix. I am very fair, and at my fairest breeze is perfect. It is not very pink on me, it's fairly neutral. Linen is very pale, with with a golden undertone. I am currently using Linen, and I love that it is pale while being yellow. I find Alabaster is a little orange, and I would suggest staying away from it unless you plan on tanning. Hope this helps!
This is my holy grail foundation. I have dry skin with a lot of acne scars. I have acne prone skin and I'm not sure if this is giving me the a few small blemishes or not.
no hate on you personally bc I've heard a bunch say this about how the applicator "doesn't seem sanitary" which kind of makes no sense bc pretty much all concealers have those type of applicators so I don't see the difference at all.
Exactly!!!!

I remember Watching your Acne Coverage Foundation Routine, and you had 5.000 subs, and now you have nearly 25.000. You're going to be one of the Big youtubers some day, just wait. You'll have Like 3.000.000 subs some day:)
+Martina A Stoessel Awww thank you so much!! That means a lot to me :)
I wear this foundation I find it amazing .. I don't use as a concealer under my eyes don't see why you would .
I have dry skin nd I love it
I do tend to get oily skin in summer aswell and does the job for me !!
I'm hairdresser aswell I tend to swet nd it stays on . maybe it's just your skin

You are just the best when it comes to make up reviews, so in depth, thorough, and honest. Love love love your page, pretty girl!

They came out with a new formula, and the new formula is sooo much better!

Thank you! I really appreciate seeing acne coverage foundation reviews from someone who has acne of realistic severity that I can relate to.
+lyndsay april No problem! That's why I do these videos so I'm glad if they can help you out :)
You're makeup in this vid really fits for you. Sooo pretty.
I use to have acne like you do too I had to go to the dermatologist for antibiotics and I was on it for three months and it got rid of all the acne. I still have large pores and lots of scaring but I love this foundation.

I don't care for it with a brush, or my fingers personally. I blend as much as I can with a brush and then go over with a very damp beauty blender.
I have it and honestly I love it!
+Salwa Eljach loving your videoss
I do too and I think it covered most of her acne
Are you acne prone? Did you break out from this?
+Eshoo Ali I have acne prone skin and I love this! I do have to use a primer tho or it does emphasize my pores and current breakouts
same
I have extremely dry skin and this is my holy grail foundation. I just lightly powder to set, and it lasts all day. I love it.

I have seen other reviews on this and they were all positive so I bought it and tried it today and I don't like it at all! I'm glad I'm not alone, I have combo skin and it made me look greasy and like sat on top my skin, I hate it!
You're reviews are always so helpful!! You deserves wayyyy more subbies omg.
You are so pretty! Even without make up you look so stunning
Have you tried the Clinique anti blemish solutions foundation? It's perfect for oily and acne prone skin
I personally love this foundation!!! it's great on my skin
You should've used a matte primer beforehand and used a powder to set soon after applying.
Does this emphasise or settle in pores?? and is there a cheaper dupe. Also what primer is best under this ?? Xx
I recommend it.
you need a slightly more yellow/darker tone maybe one shade darker to hide redness
I just got this foundation. I really wanted to love it! But sadly it does the exact same thing it did as in this review. So happy it works great for others though! 🤗
I bought this recently and I really wanted to love it but I have to agree. It really enhanced the texture on my skin and got oily and felt masky. I had to return it :/
Can you test out neutrogena foundation??
This vid is great. I'm completely with you on this. I really want to like this product but I don't think it suits my skin. I keep trying different ways to make it work but I guess ya can't win 'em all. You're really beautiful by the way. :)
could you review the Clinique stay matte oil free foundation?? ur literally like the only person I trust with foundation reviews
Could you review more powder foundations? Like the too faced and Urban Decay ones?
I asked for a sample of this at Sephora and they said it was too dark for me :( I'm really not that light! I'm definitely not tan, but I'm just about your skin tone or a little darker. I'm a VIB too and the person "helping" me knew that so idk why they wouldn't give me one
The foundation colors do run a little dark depending on what store you go to. I went in to my local Sephora and picked out the lightest shade and even still it turned out wayy too orange for me :/ Maybe try another store?
0.5 is very pink! Maybe that's why it looked too dark was because the undertones weren't correct.
Woah! You look stunning in that red lip!
+
I use there 3-stp skin care system and Clinique Smart Line to improve my skin. Before I didn't and I had trouble with makeup. After using the Smart line. My Face has improved drastically, to the point wear I don't nee as much makeup. And my makeup goes on flawless.
Robert Provost does the foundation have flashback?
Awesome video! Do you think you could do a video showing how much coverage you can get from the cover fx drops? I've been on the fence about getting them because I feel like there are so many mixed reviews.
+Vanessa Wertz I just ran out but when I repurchase them I can do that! Do you just want to see them worn on their own?
If you have eczema around your mouth and its dry and patchy, this moisturizing foundation would be for you.
What color foundation did you choose
I have used Clinique in the past but can't remember what color I am
gurrrl tie your hair back! I used to have a lot if acne and tie my hair back helped significantly and I only put my hair down on occasions
I'm new to your channel and i loved this video :) but if you haven't given the hourglass immaculate liquid powder foundation it is AMAZING for oily skin and in general it's so flawless. Xx
Roll the wand on the back of your hand, and then apply it with a brush/beauty blender/unicorn tail. You don't have to rub the wand on your face.
wow this foundation looked really flawless. is it cruelty free?
i believe Clinique isn't a cruelty-free brand :(
I don't think so sadly :/
I wish you had primed your face, i'm sure that would have helped with the texture of the skin
This foundation looks so good for coverage omg
It is but it can get VERY cake VERY quickly
love watching you! and great review!!
What primer do
You recommend for oily skin ?
i wish if you could do side with beauty blender and side with a brush to know the difference
You have such a lovely voice!!!
First video I've seen of you, already enjoy your channel and videos! SUBSCRIBED :)
I so wanted to love this foundation. The color match was amazing, the coverage was impressive, but the way it sat in any and every single line or bump, not to mention undereye creasing, was a real disappointment. It broke up after a few hours too, and I tried to apply it several ways, along with/without a primer or powder. It just didn't work for my skin so I had no choice but to return it :-/
Thanks for your review, everybody is saying that is great but i think it s just too thick and accentuate my pores
Your eyes are extremely gorgeous 😍
I've been wanting to try this foundation for so long, but even though my acne isn't horrible my skin is sensitive to small breakouts and I'm nervous about it breaking me out
Hey! I have acne prone skin too, but more on the dry side, would you recommend this one or the Kay Von D one?
James Hampton I heard this one
I like this foundation but the color doesn't quite match me :( I like the applicator. Several concealers I have are the same and I don't worry about bacteria with them so I don't worry with this. I wish I had a better color match.
I can relate!
Thanks so much for this video! I have the acne/oily skin type and I was debating getting this. Great review! =D
Do you wet your Beauty blender ?
Great review and to the point! thanks!
Glad you did this review. You always look amazing though!
Please do a tutorial on how you do your wing!
Just got this foundation and I have dry skin so maybe it will work for me...thanks for your review
Works great with dry skin
With anything you need to set it with powder. Especially under the eyes. If you don't set it you're going to crease
+Katy Baby The problem with this product is that it creased IMMEDIATELY. I didn't even have time grab a powder before it would crease again and I don't know if you've ever tried setting an already creased product but it gets really gross.
Please do a review on the new Tarte water foundation!
you should try accutane for your acne I had worse acne than you and it's gone now
did u try using a primer before u put the foundation on
Try the Arbonne liquid foundation!!
I bought one it was a really small tube like a tester tube, cost me £20 and tbh it’s not 24 hour easily comes off, have u got any other tips to keep foundation coverage on
What's the shade number you are using?
Does this foundation have any heavy metals in its composition?
Why didn't you use the original applicator first? Just wondering, not to be rude
Hey totally irrelevant question but have you tried the cocoa contour palette by too faced? Has it caused breakouts? I just bought it and am scared to use it
+Cynthia Caro I haven't but I've tried their cocoa powder bronzers and haven't had any issues!
+SariReanna how about the Lorac pro contour palette? :) I'm sorry I'm just so scared about contour palettes because the KVD one extremely ruined my skin! I'm still dealing with breakouts in those areas
Would love to see you try younique liquid touch foundation
Please tell me shade clinique foundation .🙇🏻
I love your first impressions video they're so helpful!!! Cx
Kenzie Severson Thankyou so much that helped alot!
