The Hinomisaki Lighthouse is located around 9 kilometers from the famous, world heritage listed shrine "Izumo Taisha". It was was built in 1903, it's 43.65 meters high and it is the tallest stone lighthouse in Japan. The tower has a interesting construction as external walls are made of stone and internal are made of brick and they are connected with crossbeams. It was recognized as one of the 100 most beautiful lighthouses in the world. Visitors can climb 163 steps to the top of the lighthouse.
