Thank you for this! I’ve just started the process of seriously researching how to start a booktube channel and could feel my anxiety lowering as I watched this video 😊. both educational and good for my mental health!
Holy Cat!! I love the glowing cat in the background that is my favorite. But in all seriousness, your video is great. I am thinking in of starting my own video. I didn't realize all the stuff that goes into it. I look forward to watching more of your video. Thank you for posting this so those like myself know what it is really like!
Hi! I love your channel and your videos. This was really helpful and I appreciate you being so forthcoming. For people like me, who are nervous about starting a channel, but love watching - videos like this make it seem a bit less daunting to try. I would love to learn more about how you edit! Thanks so much for sharing.
such great tips Jess! I haven't ventured to tubebuddy yet so this is giving me the push to do so. I'm a techy person so I'm always fascinated by everyone's setup and you have a great one. I film and edit on my phone and that works for me for now though. great video!
As an introvert I can completely relate but I promise it gets easier the more you do it - and I’ve been in this community for four years and I’ve never received a negative reply from anyone I’ve messaged 🥰
I should really invest in some box lights and a mic cause my lighting sucks and I have to edit out so much street noise from my videos. Thanks for all the tips.
Thanks for watching! 💕 Street noise can be such a pain to edit! I filmed all my older videos right next to a window and you can clearly hear cars backing up and people talking 😅
I started my channel a little over a month ago so I clicked on this video so fast. I’m still learning all of these technical things as I go and it’s been a journey that’s for sure 😂 Little things like learning to make thumbnails and such has been challenging since I’m not a very techy person to begin with. Thank you so much for sharing these tips! ❤ I’ll be coming back to it several times im sure because I need all the help I can get 😂
This was so helpful thank you!🥰 Any suggestions on where to start content-wise? Good first video idea? I have so many ideas but not sure where to start!🙈
We all need more videos like this! It’s sooo hard to grow in the booktube community especially since romance is such a small niche but I’m gonna push thru! I think struggle the most with filming, I literally take 3hrs just to film a 15 min video 😢 Any tips on this??
Thanks for watching! I think filming becomes easier/quicker the more you practice. I know when I first started it took me HOURS to film one video but now I’m used to talking in front of a camera so I can normally get it done within 30/40min. - this video actually took me over 2.5 hours to film 😅
The microphone thing ugh, I’ve wanted to get one but I’m so nervous buying cheap ones with mixed reviews. So I end up not getting one. What a struggle 😂
I have the one I use linked in the description! You can also buy a few from Amazon and see which one works best for you (I think I purchased 5 or 6 before I found one I liked and just returned the rest 😅)
Which version of Tubebuddy do you use? There is free, pro, and legend, and I was just curious which one you used. I have very low finances but would love more help gaining more attention for my channels (this one I just started, but I have two others I work on.) I had no idea about the SEO up until recently.
I use Legend mainly because my husband already has a membership, and it allows for up to three accounts. You can do a lot of your own research on SEO for free on RUclips. Before I started my channel, I watched numerous tutorials on RUclips analytics and SEO. It’s time-consuming but completely free!
Have a Booktube question?! Leave a comment and I’ll answer it ASAP! 🥰

Ahhh feel free to DM on Instagram if you have any questions! 💕
Thank you for this video! Especially uploading to RUclips.
"A very nice wall, it's decorated very nicely" hahaha I love this lmao
Bahaha I panicked and didn’t want the person I was referring to, to think I was hating on her wall! 😅
Thank you so much for this video! I’m coming up on a year and still feel lost a lot of the time 😅😅. Will definitely be using your tips! ❤❤
I’m so glad you did this video! I’ve been doing 2 videos a week for 1.5 years and I’m having trouble getting to the 1k mark. Bulk filming is the KEY!

I've been on booktube for a year now and somethings you mentioned where new to me or a great reminder! Thank you so much! 🥰🥰
♥️♥️♥️
Such a fun video to watch, I love seeing everyone else’s setup 💜 I do every step exclusively through my phone for now. 🥰
This video was super helpful! I always forget to ask people to like and subscribe 🤦🏾♀️ and watching your ending reminded me of that lol
♥️♥️♥️

Very good tips.
I was so shy in asking people to like and subscribe but yes people always appreciate reminders!
Thanks for the advice! Consistency is definitely my biggest vice (plus the shorter days during winter)
So many good take aways from this video! Especially messaging others is something I need to do (But it's so nerve-wracking) ✨🙈

@@HonestFiction that's really reassuring! And lovely to meet another introvert Booktuber 👋🏻✨
This was great, Jess! So helpful! ❤ The SEO and tube buddy look like fantastic tools!

@@HonestFiction the amount of times I edit out " shit and fuck" because of street noise lol
This was really helpful❤ thank you 🤩

@@HonestFiction I've been doing research since I sent this comment. Thank you for replying! I will keep working hard on working on it!
I still need to learn how to talk more clearly great video
I really don't know why but you remind me of Claire from Modern family😅
Haha I’ve actually heard that before! 💕
