- Time to do some more work on the Renault/VW Beetle rat rod/hot rod project here at Rat Rods for Africa. I finally bolt the 1959 Renault body onto the shortened, customized and rebuilt VW Beetle floor pan. Then we evaluate the stance. We also see that the fenders will require extensive modifications to accommodate the widened custom VW steely wheels.
Whilst discussing the option of building widened wheel arches, I notice that something is not quite right...

Take front suspension off again fit a 20mm thick spacer between the bulkhead and suspension. That will centalise your wheel in the arch and give u the extra space when raising or lowering the ride height. Amazing build. Gonna look awesome with those flared wheel arches.

Widen the actual fenders, the Renobug will look really mean as a widebody.

How about adding a strip of metal on the inside of the fender, instead of cutting the fender on the outside
