I've made the zombie meatloaf for Halloween the last 4 years. My son affectionatly refers to it as "Meatface". I've used onion for the eyes like Chef John does here, but I've also used cherry tomatoes, olives and dill pickle ends for the eyes. Always a hit with my family. I think I will try the face pie this year, but as a cherry pie so the juices will "bleed" out over the face.
Wow! That face pie is a masterpiece. I thought I was cool when I froze lemonade in rubber gloves, and had pale "hands" floating in my punch bowl one Halloween. (Very well-washed gloves, I might add.) Thank you for these wonderful ideas, and Happy Hallowe'en.
The face pie made me think it would be fun to make a man in the moon pie using the same technique. You even could do a crescent moon with the profile. On the face pie you could even do some stitches on the fore head or cheek. So much fun thinking of stuff you could do with this pie!
I would love it if Chef John shared that buttered asparagus recipe. And it would be actually spooky if made by me, because I am indeed a Pagan. Blessed be!
The "free-range drifter" already had me cracking up, but the "wash your sister sauce"...I lost it! That was too funny! Very creative recipes, Chef John!
"Even my buttered asparagus was scary, because it was grown by pagans." Wiccan here and I'd be happy to make that spooky asparagus for you! Please share the recipe for it, Chef John!
It's that time of year again. October! When half the country is preparing for Halloween, and the other half is demanding to know why we don't say "Merry Christmas" anymore, in October.
Chef John for the first time in a long time I'm in a place where I can cook actual meals for myself and I will be doing my best to make that amazing face pie 🥧😋 I love your channel so much!
When I was a kid I saw someone being liposuctioned on tv. The next day we went to have lunch with my grandparents and I saw a big bowl on the table full of pink, jiggly stuff that looked just like what had been suctioned out of that person. I was so freaked out, but in my defense, just ham blended with mayo and relish is pretty gross looking! These are amaaazing, Chef, thank you 🙏🧡🧟♀️🎃🕸🍂👻
Face Pie!!! Love it, so pretty yet creepy and looks delicious :) The meringue & meatball ghosts are cute! All of these ideas are tasty fun. You are a very creative chef!
I used to make fingers out of shortbread dough, with a sliced almond pressed into one end as the fingernail, I marked the knuckles with a few lines, and dipped the other end into some red icing for blood. I offered them to trick or treaters in a black box .
It's August but I am so ready for Halloween now! I especially appreciate Chef John's devotion to sculpting food in a both delicious- and disturbing-looking way
those devil dentures are so cool. 😊I wonder if you made a fruit pie if that would have bubbled more and gave you a really gross effect from the nose 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The deviled ham looks amazing. It looks like one of those that does better if you make it the night before so all the flavors can ‘blend’. Also looks like one of those things my family would be watching me like a hawk as I made it. Something about me always adding too much hot sauce/hot pepper or something. Mom used to ration how much cayenne or chili powder Dad and I could have access to. 🙄
Is "spatulate" a word? Ha! It is now...I love it & plan to use it...often! Thanks Chef John. FYI-my daughter's birthday is October 1st & my grandsons is Halloween! Woohoo!
Gotta love this video! You've been surprisingly generous with the Cayenne Pepper, that stuff is powerful! (I wonder if there are different grades of it?)
"The free range drifter i harvested a while ago"
That caught me off guard lol
Ghosteoporosis. Come for the food, stay for the dad jokes
The free-range drifter does have a much better taste than the caged ones.
October: exists
Chef John: “FACE PIE!!!”
🤣😂😆🤣😂🤣🤪👏🏻
Sheeeeeeep
Just when I stopped waking up to nightmares of FacePie, you went ahead and dropped this spooky sizzle reel 😩
bruh same lmao

How cute!
Some real nightmare fuel. Tasty tasty nightmare fuel
Yeah
Why don't skeletons go trick or treating?
Because they have no body to go with.
I gota say it .
Absolutely spooktacular

My mind went to the gutter when you said “after parting those lips a little more” 😂🤦🏻♀️

Chef John's Halloween recipes are so underrated. Like, who else brings this level of spooky creativity for Halloween? Nobody!!
"Watch yur sister sauce" Luuuv it!🤣
You know the merengue is done when it’s dry as a bone.
"Even my buttered asparagus was scary, because it was grown by pagans."
Wiccan here and I'd be happy to make that spooky asparagus for you! Please share the recipe for it, Chef John!
The pie is disturbing lol

When I get a notification that you have downloaded a video, my happy time begins 📸❣️🍊،♥️🥳😘🥰🤩❤️
to be fair, the face pie is actually creepy
I don’t actually think it was meant to be cute.
@@jvallas it was meant to be silly
@@windy8544 sorry! 🥴
I love the massive dad joke energy in this. Truly a masterpiece 👏
These are all great Halloween party recipes!
I never forget the cayenne, I leave it out intentionally!!
For the eye on the face, I was thinking of an olive possibly?
What a guy!!! I look so forward to watching your show. The recipes are fabulous and I laugh at your funny comments throughout the program.
It's that time of year again. October! When half the country is preparing for Halloween, and the other half is demanding to know why we don't say "Merry Christmas" anymore, in October.
I hope this isnt a replacement for a NEW Halloween recipe this year.. I love your Halloween recipes I look forward to it every year!
Considering it's start October, i really doubt he would be posting a replacement now.
That meat pie gives me the creeps...
I make the mummy meatloaf all the time....sometimes even at Halloween. Thanks to the great Chef John.
Love everything 🤗. The face was really neat to see. Love the meringue bones and ghost and the little meatloaf ghosts as well.
People usually get a pie in the face, not a face in the pie, I see what you did there 👩🔧🇺🇲🛠️🇷🇺
I turned myself into a meat pie Morty! I'm meat pie Rick!
CHEF JOHN THANK YOU FOR BRINGING ME SMILES AND LAUGHTER TODAY. You don't even know how badly I needed this.
Can you make the cake from the 'corpse bride' ? 😁
Stellar production! Thanks for all the ideas.
Spooky season is my favorite- love seeing these again!!!!!!!
Chef John for the first time in a long time I'm in a place where I can cook actual meals for myself and I will be doing my best to make that amazing face pie 🥧😋 I love your channel so much!
Anything involving crabs, like Alaska crabs is too scary in itself, looks like Aliens movie face huggers
And the apples and the almonds and honey are a healthy snack!! Scary good!!
@Chef John, you just made my whole month!!! Thank You!!! October is my favorite month, and you just made it even more awesome!!!!!

I have never known how to make deviled ham, and actually had forgotten about it! Thank you!
And also, thanks for the chuckles! I love puns!
Thank you Chef John. Really great videos.
Dark Shadows and Captain Kangaroo were my favorites!
House Bolton makes something like that zombie meatloaf at the Dreadfort, but they don't use meatloaf.
If I had it my way, every one of Chef John's recipes would include a face
Ooo pepper Jack would be great in that Deviled Ham ….these are all fantastic
Thanks for the fun compilation as always, corporate overlords!
LOL first time seeing these videos, on new year's eve '21 - '22. so fun ! thank you !
Stopping at intro to tell you Freakin Hell I Jumped!!!! Okay, I'll go watch now.....
Face Pie!!! Love it, so pretty yet creepy and looks delicious :) The meringue & meatball ghosts are cute! All of these ideas are tasty fun. You are a very creative chef!

Super cool. I always collect these recipes for my non existent future kids that'll never be. Maybe I can make them for others.
We had the Zombie Meatloaf from Chef Johns recipe last year and it was a bang at the halloween party!
Really clever, definitely want to give these a try! Thank you!
So cool! Wished I saw this sooner… saving for next year for fun 🙂
That Pie Face is the stuff of nightmares! 😧
Kitty litter cake is a fun one to make; a sure kid-pleaser.
those devil dentures are so cool. 😊I wonder if you made a fruit pie if that would have bubbled more and gave you a really gross effect from the nose 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really amazing video thank you chef John !!!
Hauntingly delicious

Well done, but ghoulish!
Thanks for the ideas
I really love how bad it looks. If I had a pie mold I totally would have made this
i love this compilation very much. they are super creative 😆
Face😵pie has always been my favorite!💗
The face pie is eerily reminiscent of King Crimson's first album cover.
Wow wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👹💀🦴🦴👻 buuu Chef John you are really spooky adorable 🥰 thanks for share all your amazing recipes.
Greetings from El Paso, Tx 🦎🐍🐢🌵🌻🍂🍁
Hey! I was on the "Captain Kangaroo" show as a child! I was the adorable little girl who looked absolutely terrified throughout the entire show.
Mr. Green Jeans was my fav since our family were farmers and he reminded me of one of our relatives 👻👖
This was genius. Love this montage
Great ideas! Also, I'm thoroughly convinced that Chef John is a low key serial killer. RIP Phil...
The face pie looks like the one in A Trip to the Moon, a 1902 silent French short film directed by Georges Méliès.
Great job!!!

Mrs Lovett is quaking in her boots right now
Fabulous!
I don't celebrate Halloween, but I do celebrate chef John👌🏼
These are great!
Is "spatulate" a word? Ha! It is now...I love it & plan to use it...often! Thanks Chef John.
FYI-my daughter's birthday is October 1st & my grandsons is Halloween! Woohoo!

That Substitute Human Pie was amazing!
I like it for sure!!!!
Gotta love this video! You've been surprisingly generous with the Cayenne Pepper, that stuff is powerful! (I wonder if there are different grades of it?)
Yes. Cayenne does come in dif strengths. Google Scoville Scale.
❤️👍Chef John ! You’re the best !
I loved Dark Shadows !
Love the bones 🦴 and ghost 👻 👻👻👻👻🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴
Chef John, you are comedy gold!
And now it is time to SPATULATE! 🤪
