I am asking if you have any information if the city regulations will allow the festival to still happen due to COVID . As I have to buy plane tickets, book hotel rooms and ask days off work . I don’t want to go through all that for nothing to happen . Thank you for all your help !

You're welcome. I think so. I've been to the Algarve several times in the winter. It's always sunny and a bit warm. As a trip to Faro isn't focused on beaches, I think it's worth visiting it even during the winter. Hotels are going to be much cheaper. You can got for a city break and spend a weekend there. Ciudad muy sobrevalorada, toda la ciudad muy sucia, con bloques de pisos que se caen a trozos, el suelo de la calle muy sucio con botellas de cervezas y chicles pegados a cada rincón, además las baldosas totalmente dañadas, medio salidas todas, los restaurantes te quieren tomar el pelo con la comida, la cataplana un timo, no es lo que describen y los precios abusivos, la gente, de faro muy mal educada y sosa con los turistas, sin duda jamás volveremos a esta ciudad, en Portugal hay muchos sitios mejores que faro para visitar.
Please beware of Faro police brutality. My 17 year old son was beat up by the Faro police because they thought he was being verbally insulting after he had asked for help to recover his ipnone. THe beat him, dragged hin\m to the ground with their needs and boots on his neck. When he asked what he did wrong while handcuffed in the patrol car, they punched him three times in his face. At the police station they dragged him to the bathroom ( no cameras) and viciously kicked him. One female police officer took particular pleasure kicking my 17 yo son. I reportedthe incident to the State Departmeent and the US Embassy in Lisbon, as well as aAlberga Daily News. tourists beware the Faro cops are vicious!

Advised to file a complaint with the Public Prosecutors Office in Faro. All of us need to unite against this type of behavior by the GRN. Someone will get killed unless we do something. My son was lucky he wasn’t seriously injured. Spread the news
