Hi! I hear a lot of bad things about AMDA and how mean the instructors are and how bad the dorms are. Can you share your experience with being in the Musical Theatre Program? I really wanna go but now I’m so anxious about it.
Hey! I'll try to help a bit! I know that the dorm situation has changed; they got rid of the building that i was housed in, so i can't speak on them now. I can say they are pretty small, but I also think that is just Manhattan 😅. As for the instructors, I wouldn't describe anyone as mean, rather than strict, direct, or blunt? I guess you need to have some ability to depersonalize yourself from that sometimes as well. It definitely was a bit of an investment for me, but I had a lot of fun, I learned a lot, and I know I'm better off as a performer because of my time there. Hope this helps a bit!
