I really liked Tropius when it first came out. Especially for the game it was in. You had Sweet Scent for hunting/chaining, it flies, and it was a heavy weight grass type
Keep those stats and H.A., but change the typing back to normal. Not only does it get destroyed by Ground, a really common coverage type, and lose its Fire and Dark resistance with the type change, but it is completely walled by Water and Fire types with its new STABs. STAB Tough Claws Superpower would also destroy everything that isn’t Ghost.

I will say that yes, the early gens had basic designs (my fav gen is gen 3), but there is something appealing about the color gradients they pulled off in the early gens. Really adds a lifelike quality to the designs, a lot of the newer gens design's color schemes are static and flat, while the design is doing the heavy lifting. Not that the new designs are bad, but it's something that makes the older designs age well

And Froakie is definitely a great pic. Was my first starter, actually. But while its base Atk is 105, it also gets access to both Dragon Dance and Sheer Force, so coupled with Life Orb, that thing is hnnnnngh! Just Sheer Force + Life Orb alone essentially boosts its Atk to 169%, and one DD will bring it up to 253.5%, and Sheer Force prevents you from taking Life Orb damage when using attacks that Sheer Force applies to.
Blaziken Has Speed Boost. Infernape ain't doing shit And though Popplio or Brionne don't look good, Primarina is really good, like we all needed a Mermaid Pokemon. For some reason, Brionne looks like it wants to show off its prettiness, Torracat wants to show its toughness and Dartrix is .-. And idk but it seems like Shaymin is a Joke to you
