  • A father and daughter duo found a fossil that may change what scientists know about prehistoric animals. Justin Reynolds and 11-year-old Ruby found pieces of fossilized bone on the beach in Somerset, England, in 2020. Those pieces turned out to be from the jaw of what researchers now believe was one of the largest animals ever to live on Earth. The bones were from a marine reptile called ichthyotitan severnensis. Experts say the ichthyotitan could have measured about 82 feet long.

no it won't because they destroyed the historical context of the fossil they should have left it where they found it and contacted the right people when you take a fossil, pottery, or even arrowheads from where you found them you destroy any historical context. they should be left where and how you found them. who knows what more we could have learned from the site where they dug them up just by how they lay in the sediment, what layer of sediment they were in, ect...

Need to use something like potassium-argon dating for timescales this old. Although in this case it's likely known how old the surrounding rock is already.

@@commonseses Human sociology and building styles don’t say anything about the earth. Geology does. The Earth being 6 thousand years old is just silly. The scientific method explains exactly how they come up with billions of years. Your claim is extraordinary. It requires extraordinary proof. You have nothing but a book which is inaccurate historically. You’ll have to do better than faith to prove the age of the earth. You can talk all day but it’s totally impotent without evidence. It’s interesting you call yourself common sense but you base your world view on an opinion you know you can’t back up with facts.
