You should have continued the sentence: Don't mess with sleepers...at a traffic light. These cars can take advantage of their insane power only on the stright. On a mixed circuit, they would take a handful of seconds per lap from a real supercar.

@@PierreAndersen Spend time upgrading a sleeper car and you can take on Luxury sports cars like there nothing, such as a fully upgraded 1956 Chevy Bel air taking on a BMW M3 GTR for instance.

I had a 1972 Plymouth Scamp with a 318 V8, a custom 4 barrel, and GT Rally wheels. It had all the goods for racing, but it was an old unibody frame that weighed next to nothing. I usually lost off the line against Japanese cars with beefed up smaller engines, but none could top my high end. I raced a friend with a Supra Saleen, 5 speed. He had me at first, but he topped out about 135mph... I kicked in my big back barrels and blazed past him at 150mph and was still accelerating, but my Speedometer was maxed at 150. I was so excited I forgot to slow down and had to lay on the brakes to make the stop sign dead end where the road T-ed off. I left skid marks about a block long on that road...lol

The big difference is the sporty cars are all on track mode and automatic. If they had stick they would all lose pretty badly.

The most obvious thing is that the sleepers need 4 wheel drive to put the power down properly. Plus sequential gearboxes.

Watch the race at 2 mins 40 seconds. Surprisingly, the old white Audi had a very fast and powerful headstart against the mordern blue sports car on the right😎. Don't underestimate the speed of older Audis😁😁😁😁

Why do the sleepers launch so fast but then fall behind after a meter?
