As soon as 3.15 drops I have a LOT planned! Finishing up a couple discussion videos this week that I plan on putting up to end this hiatus I've been on. Thank you!
Very comprehensive... I've been playing with the idea of picking up a Prospector and while mining/refining isn't actually that profitable respectively, it IS an extra type of gameplay to add variety. Good work, cheers xD
Great breakdown! Very little fluff which I appreciate. One thing though, you missed the "Surge" consumable. Not sure if there are others, but that one stuck out because it's my favorite to use on my Lancet.
Very well done video. Something I have noticed is that mining laser power falls off with distance, I have to move forward and back to find the optimum charging level. The buffs and debuffs from lasers and consumables are at full value independent of range. So if you are using a Helix in the Mole at say 250 metes with highest power setting but the resistance is too high for the distance. Below are my thoughts on this, have not mined in awhile. Use a consumable to lower the resistance without moving the ship. If in a Mole Have 1 or 2 crewmates fire Lancet mining lasers at the rock to reduce the resistance enough to fracture the rock. This might get real hairy if the resistance fall so low causing the charge level to spike and being instantly in the overcharge, but you should be far enough away for minimal damage. Have not tested this but with the changes in 3.12 the Lancet might be better than the Helix, because the Helix has 64% more power but the Lancet cuts down resistance 75% . I have not had any luck using 2 or more consumables at the same time on a single laser, but I might have been trying to use 2 Optimums at the same time. With multiple lasers and consumables it makes the mole a real Mining Monster, or a small fleet of Prospectors, could break some really big rocks. Just me 2 cents.
Thank you for the thoughtful response, definitely some good information to consider. I'm really curious about combining multiple heads on a prospector crew. The Mole I currently am running has Lancet/Helix/Impact all on it, and I'm probably going to be giving that a spin tonight
Not 100% sure. Have to check but Lancet is -75% Resistance. IMHO it is the best solo laser. You can crack 4900er rocks solo without consumables. Only 5k+ need a bit of a boost. The -75% Resi and Insta are insane
It is a very solid ship if you want to pledge for it, I can easily recommend it. You can earn it in game fairly quickly, but it depends on how much you want mining to be your main profession.
to bad 3.12 has totally killed game til quick fix . no where to sell , so no mining or trading possible . lets release a big patch before we leave for Holiday and not expect game to break at all . wrong think for a experienced dev group . should of waited til after new year if they could not wait to go on holiday, to do a good job or take pride in it .
With 3.12 back in PTU they are working to polish out the issues, but while the game is much more stable the issues with trade and selling refined goods seem to be still be there. Hoping they'll resolve that soon before the next hotfix.
A great video, thank you for all the work in this and sharing. I can't help but think the extended mining time with refineries remains risky and pointless with the 30K's
thank you. i've been looking for a laser guide for so long. now I know exactly what I want and why I want it
Fantastic job, Grate coverage of mining. Love to see you do an updated mining video in 3.15 with all the new thing that are to show up there.

Very well done, I grabbed some screenshots for my next mining run
Theres a google doc in the description that you can use for a reference as well!
@@MadrealmMatt OMG THANK YOU for that Google Doc !!
Great video... love that you're well-organized, direct and concise! Nice work, new sub here :)
Your content is super useful and beautifully edited!
You are underrated man
Great breakdown; loved the color coded charts too
Glad you liked it!
This was quite educational. Glad I stepped by ;)
This is handy. With the Prospector only 41k to rent this helps me save time on that rental and actualy get something out of doing it.
Thank you for making this video
Very well presented! Subscribed
Welcome aboard!
the new UI is great:) happy holydays and thx for the video mate 👌
Thank you for stopping by, I hope the holidays have treated you well.
@@MadrealmMatt thx mate :)

Ya i completely forgot to include it somehow! D'oh...
Thank you a Great chart , very helpful 👍
Really interesting testing, thank you ^_^

I am surprised that you didn't add the Roc gem mining also.
That will be in another video since it doesnt use the new refining
Thanks oh this helped!
HUR-L2 also has a refinery
Good to know! Didn't see one there the first time I checked, I'll have to update my refineries chart
WOW the HUR-L2 Refinery SUCKS
The only thing that would be a great add would be where to find what ores like Bexalaite on Cellin, etc.
They should be discoverable everywhere but at varying percentages from what Ive been seeing.
Should I buy the prospectors out right

thks dude
Rime is better than Lifeline IMO, if you get in to red you just pop this.

I've been doing mining non stop and I've been able to sell just fine.
It seems the latest hotfix patch is working pretty well if you haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet.
