Ha Long and Lan Ha Bays are seriously overcrowded, FAR too expensive, and severely trashed by overtourism. Note the video at 0.35 point. THAT'S the problem! I did a 3D/2N in November, '22, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone! We were accompanied everywhere by 17 or 18 other similarly-sized vessels and, due undoubtedly to oppressive afternoon heat, everyone did kayaking, village visits, etc., at exactly the same time. It was like rush hour on the Los Angeles freeway! Further, "cruise" is a misnomer. The boats only move before dropping off or picking up passengers. I'd estimate we were actually underway for less than 30 minutes in the three days I was there. So much for being able to enjoy the breeze outside ones' air-conditioned cabin! Price? $490 single, $770 couple. Again, see Ha Long (Lan Ha's optional - they're identical), but save money and aggravation and take a DAY cruise!
