  • Took my Orro Terra C on a proper ride over different terrains and wonder, is this is the only bike I need?

    Thanks for the vid. Was looking for a gravel bike, and have just ordered the Terra C 105 Di2 based on your review.

    The bike seems like a good all rounder for what you ride, i don't think it would do all for me though 🤣 glad to hear beacon bikes are bouncing back, now there's a real muddy cyclist at the end 😃👍

    I have the exact same bike, just over 1 year old and love it. Upgraded the wheels last month for a pair of Hunt carbon wheels running the same tyres tubeless, 40 psi front and 50 psi rear, I’m 105kg. The old wheels now have 32c road tyres for the odd bit of road riding when needs must.

      I’m going to get a set of slicks for road biking trip coming up, don’t think I can afford new wheels just yet though

    For mixed surface and gravel rides I run tubeless 35 front and 40 back with those wheels and tyres. I'm 88kg for reference. Play around with it but the lowest you can get away with is the most comfortable. Another great vid 👌

    Would tou say this bike is a distinct upgrade from your ADV 8.9? What would you ascribe the main difference to? Frame design?

  • @darrenelbrow5144

    If you could only have one bike, then definitely it’s the one bike for everything.
    If you have tubes, run those tyres at about 40psi. 30-35psi tubeless

    I'm thinking of the Terra C for my next bike. I'd like to not end up with two bikes, so I'm considering the Terra C and also a road wheelset for swapping out for club runs.

    • @themuddycyclist
      @themuddycyclist  2 года назад

      That may well work, as long as your off road riding isn't too extreme

    • @themuddycyclist

      I'm 5'11, smidge under perhaps. I'm riding a medium. Shop told me I could have maybe squeezed onto a small but my seat post was right on the limit so stuck with a medium.

    Are you tubeless yet? 40psi give or take 5psi, depending on your weight and conditions. Most people I ride with are around these pressures. Tyres can transform the ride as well.

    • @themuddycyclist
      @themuddycyclist  2 года назад

      No I'm still on tubes. Bit reluctant to change as have a road ride trip coming up and want to swap the tyres. Is a bit of a faff keep setting up tubeless, so may wait.

    You will be faster on a gravel bike than a MTB on dry tracks
    However a MTB will absolutely whoop a gravel bike on wet tracks.
    Both have their merits just depends on riding conditions.

    • @themuddycyclist

      No doubt, but it's nice to have a bike that can do different terrains on the same ride.
