if you look at the earliest videos in the 70tees that was considerd skateboarding it looks more like longboarding..It started as a form of mimicking surfing.I been skating street for almost 24 years I dont concider longboarding beeing anything different then vert or street.Its just another form of doing it

Longboarding for me was a great way to start skating, it was much easier than Park skating. Longboarding is a lot more forgiving than the smaller board, hard wheeled brothers of Vert and Street. In a way it really is all the same skate at heart. Downhill skating is a thing unto itself however, compared to a smooth kick around town on a Longboard. Until you've dialed in your form, learned how to maintain/mod your gear and learn the basics of sliding on an open road, you have no idea how fun gripping or slipping a corner on the apex at 50mph can be. Everyone should try Longboarding, but Downhill is for the those who embrace fear as a brother and let doubt fall by the side of the road. Kudos to all you Park, Vert, Street, Pool, Freestyle, Slalom and Trick skaters. It takes skill and effort to not hurt yourself skating, and it happens all the time. My parking lot kicking, hill bombing, freestyle sliding, city slashing, and longboard dancing heart beats for my fallen brethren. From one branch of the Sk8 Fam tree to the other, shred on!
Leathers are a good thing for a Mountain run. Looked like a fun time.

Often times they use a follow car. And skating while holding a GoPro or having a luger isn’t as hard as you’d think
