Coming from a 16 year old girl, thank you SO much. I have a 2008 chevy cobalt that my brother gave to me since he got deployed into the military for a year, and even though they’re slightly different, this tutorial still worked for me. If anyone else is looking for help on this with my model, follow everything the same- only pay attention to the cords underneath :) I seriously cannot thank you enough!
Great video. Son plugged in a lithium battery power bank to charge while he got ready for work yesterday. Came out and wondered why his windows were black. Fire! Just the passenger seat and right side of the console, but today we removed the seat so he can still use the car without the burnt debris in there with him.
I appreciate this kind sir. Trying to replace my driver side blend door actuator and I need a bit more room. Also I need to clean underneath the seat as well. I like my car in tiptop shape as we all do of course. 2010 Impala LS owner here.
Great video! I was looking for videos on troubleshooting the motors on the driver seats and this one popped up. I’d rather pull the seat out so I can work on it instead of trying to work on it still in the car.
LOL! I was taking my headrest off, putting the backrest all the way forward and tilting it towards the steering wheel. The correct way works much better than my way. For the seatbelt pre-tensioner, I just removed the T30 bolt under the top rubber grommet and just put some loctite back on it when I reinstalled it. Thanks for the informative video!
The devil is in the details! You covered them all. I wish I had a half dollar (inflation) for every wiring plug I have broken. LOL Great help. Thank you.
Thanks, just heading out to do this now. I got the seat unbolted. looked at it....doh!!! And I knew it was an SRS device of some kind. Not to be screwed up.
3:50 There is a much simpler way to remove that seatbelt. If you pull back the rubber cover, there will be a T-40 torque bolt. Remove it and the seatbelt disconnects.
How ironic i was at the junk yard all day and only came up too 2 covers but will have too change them intermittenly 2 down 3 too go and super thanks for the response.I guess great minds think alike.
Very informative as I own a 2011 impala. Currently my driver seat does not move forward or back and, it has the same set up as the seat In your video, I don’t know if it is the switch or motor. The seat does move up and down. How many motors does the seat have? How would one check the switch and motor/s? A video on this would be great. Other videos I’ve found have help me with small but I have not found one about the seat as I try to do as much myself that I possibly can. Thanks for taking the time to make this content
This is very good video. I have a drivers seat motor that needs to be replaced but can't find a part number or video on how to change it. Do you have a video on line?
We have a 2013, and I really would like a firmer performance upgraded seat for it. It’s cloth black, and would want to keep that color. Is there anything like that out there?
Mr. T I own a 12 police impala as well. The “bench” isn’t really a bench seat, it is just a sort of jump seat between the two buckets that all impalas have. Yes, it will bolt right in place of the aftermarket police console.
So I need to replace the seat belt buckle in my car. I think I would have enough room if I could just remove the center console. How would I go about doing that?
There are four bolts inside the compartment you need to remove, then pop off the decorative cover on the shifter and I think there’s two more screws. Hope this helps!
Yes, the wide black metal plate has to be switched out along with the seats🙂 There may also be a piece of carpet in the passthrough you’ll want to cut out
@donnie t hello, are you talking about the metal plate on the lower/seat part or on the back part of tge seat? I'm converting my rear seat to a pass through seat also.
@@larrylewinski3086 Yes, it’s attached to the bottom of the seat back you’ll want to unbolt the plate from the car and keep the seat and plate together. I tried disconnecting the seat back on my new seats and attaching it to the old plate, they weren’t compatible, one was a 2006 passthrough the other was a 2012 fixed seat Also, I believe it’s a structural part of the car
Text book video :) step by step all videos should be so informative and not self centered.Self centered like keep showing the persons face more than the action. Thanks
Thanks for your feedback! Glad the video helped! Ya, I can't stand the guys who talk for 45 minutes about their dog and the weather before showing a half arsed video about something
@@thomasdoyle8401 there's a flexible rod that needs to stay strait while pressing the lever. i used a glove and kept it pretty strait and it started to work, otherwise when you press the button the rod will bend like an elbow. use the lever to feel the rod flexing underneath and use it to take out the flex or bend and then use you hand to hold it strait. you will succeed.
Todd Trudell typically if I have a car like this, and the seats are tore up or steam to the point I can't get them clean, I will change the cloth over the seats. I will go to the junkyard, disassemble the seats, pull the cloth off of backs and the seat bases, and then I will just change them. There's a bunch of different interchange between years, airbags, seat sensors on these. I burn myself a bunch of times swapping seats from different years into these. Sometimes different years will not work with the can bus systems
exodus he said 15mm socket. If you don’t know a socket goes on a ratchet ... well.. a socket goes on a ratchet. Besides the small screwdriver or pick that he mentioned, that was about it.

Absolutely top-notch filming! Fantastic details!
It's so hard to find a clear instructional video for this car, but was right on my problem, thank you sir

This is the best tutorial video I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
Most detailed video I've ever watched. Excellent job. I'm now a subscriber

Getting a new interior and this was the daunting part lol thank you for the clear instructions!
Happy to help!
Excellent camera work and detail.
Helped tremendously.. I got all the way to the seat belt before I had to look it up..
a simplistic& easy to follow video ..thanks for the knowledge drop
Hey man, awesome video. Yiu did a great job on this as well as explaining everything🤘 thank you very very kindly
If someone gave me money for every time he said “seatbelt pre-tensioner” I’d be rich 😂
Definitely a HUGE help. Thank you sir for the in-depth tutorial.
Helpful video. I need to pull my seats, just bought an 09, and under the seats is nasty. I think I'm gonna leave the seatbelts attached though.

Thanks btw, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to look inside there if it wasn’t for your comment 😀
You sir are awesome. That’s another sub for you, thank you so much.
Thanks. Nicely demonstated.
This video has helped me. Thanks m8

The cheapest seats ever in a luxury gas guzzler car
My belt buckle receiver on the driver side is broken. Do I have to take the entire seat off just to fix it?
Just bought a 2012 impala police with shifter on the column. There’s a fake center console. Can I swap my bucket seats for a bench out of a 2012?

Aaron Platt Thank you! I appreciate it.
I have a 2007 police and it doesn't have a center console at all😒 just a big empty space where I normally just sit my purse....lol
I like that you give the smallest of details. Chances are i would've broke that black plastic clip at the end. Video planned very well. Thanks
Brian Gibson thanks for the input! Means a lot! Glad it helped

So what if you broke the safety on the pretensioner plug?
do you know if the flip rear seats will fit into an impala of the same generation that doesn't have flip seats? I can't find this info anywhere.

super video!! Thanks!!
So how the heck do u remove a electric seat that's dead over the rear bolts 03 chevy impala without cutting the seat out ?
My seat is stuck all the way back and I can't get to the bolts. I don't wanna have to cut the seat out. Please help
Is it true my battery needs to be disconnected first?
Thank you
do you or have you refurbished these kinds of seats

Who ever came up with white cloth seats must have been smoking carpet glue?
Need back seats removal
Didn’t tell me what tools I need

@exodus also a 5/8 wrench for the seat belt removal

Excellent video, thanks
Thank you
