I have this PC except mine came with 2GB instead of 1GB of RAM and has a Nvidia 7300le. I've upgraded it to a 120GB SSD, put in a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+, and put in a Gigabit Ethernet card in place of the crappy modem. It also runs Windows 10 really well despite being 10 years old now.
So you replaced the battery but it still does not seem to be saving the settings. The date and time are still wrong, for example. My E521 does the same thing. Did you ever fix yours?

Never had much luck changing the cmos battery on these. Going to try a duracell or a panasonic. I don't think you can put in any brand 2032.
I have that pc to upgrade all it's hardware and manage to water cool and install top of the line graphic card and upgraded to windows 10
