My control went with only 2300 KMS on 13 CCT, was replaced under warranty, 100,150 KMS later it has craped out again. In my case it's the other two buttons not working this time, Bought a new switch it install, but will have a look to see if this is problem, Mike S.

You could put a piece of double sided tape down to hold that small metal tab while cleaning it.
Does this work to fix the cruise control as well?
If the hand controller is the issue, then yes!
