Apologies guys but I've made a cock up somewhere in the middle of this month, in that I've put a couple of episodes in the wrong order! It would take too long to sort it now so if you'll forgive me I'll leave it how it is! Sorry for the error, that's what comes when you rush it! lol Eve :-)

Where was Jack and Vera in the Millenium episode? They said they were visiting grandkids but they should've been in the episode. It was such a landmark one. That remembrance bit with Ken, where was Ena Sharples, Len Fairclough, Minnie Caldwell, Martha? And surely Bet Lynch should've made an appearance at the concert.....even a fleeting one.

No one else has commented on this so far but IMHO there is absolutely no on screen chemistry between Mike and Linda. Mind you, Linda is not the kind of character you warm to. For the first time in my Corrie history, I feel sorry for Mike. He should have stuck with Alma and allowed some of Alma's niceness to rub off onto him. 😄

    Horses for Courses
It reminded me of when my daughter was about 7 or 8yrs & we were discussing something or other & i happened to say the above quote.
She looked at me horrified &
Said " oh mum thats very naughty saying that"
I looked at her puzzled & said i didnt understand what id said that offended her..
    She said
" well, you swore, said a very bad word... you said ..
    Horses fu*k Horses"
I was helpless laughing which i shouldnt have but it hadnt struck me before how it sounded to a

I think it was about a way of life, about a very different and one could say more naive time. That generation of actors were trained differently and were part of a different comedic/off the cuff almost like a vaudeville routine. The humour of the Bet Lynches and the Rita's and the Vera's and Elsie's would, I'm sure go over alot of heads. It wouldn't be considered PC at all either. So much changed on the Street, yes, there were very serious storyline back then, but the whimsy disappeared and the banter is missed, and the good writing.

Gail the biggest hypocrite alive!! Telling Sally not to worry about being unfaithful and so supportive and when she does it it's ok but woe betide Brian or Martin when they did it! I'm amazed Martin put up with her for so long!

Butter wouldn't melt in his mouth , Martin Platt playing away from home . I wonder why , Mike Baldwin I did not think anyone could pull the wool over his eyes , Linda Sikes is doing it extremely well . Curly and Rachel , one episode show was done really well , Jim McDonald getting a part time job in the Rovers Return very interesting , while Vinny and Natille are away on holiday , all's well in Cornation street , looking forward to the adventures of Mr Quigley

Only at 5:29 and have never seen these older episodes but in the new ones, I know dev carries pregnancy tests in "Alahan's", and even if he didn't carry them in his corner shop back then, why hasn't he gotten one from a chemist and whipped it out for this "cray-cray" to provide pee proof? Lol

At 4:18:39 I know Norris is entitled to his old fashioned views being the age he is, but Norris could have been more diplomatic and asked Mark "Did Rita say you could use her first name?" That is what Ken Barlow would have asked if he was in Norris's place! Also if Arthur Wilson from Dad's Army was in Norris's place he would have asked "Did Rita say you could use her first name?" as well.

Looks like they needed a new Reurseh. Maybe her parents didn't want her to continue in that role after she started turning into such an evil child. This Reurseh is a brunette instead of blonde all of a sudden. That's quite sloppy.

I'm getting through this one very fast because there's nothing to keep people interested. Who cares about Kevin/Alison, Mike/Mark/Linda, Martin/Rebecca, Leeanne and her circle including Steve and Jez, Sally/Danny/The girls, Sarah the teenager, although I was crazy about her back then, I was the same age. Kevin is using his soft voice this month. Life is a bed of roses. How long before he's shouting his head off at women again? I like Jim but this romance with Gwen is doing nothing for anyone. Norris, Blanche, Fred, Alma, Roy, Hailey at at least watchable.

    • @EveHenleySpread
      @EveHenleySpread  3 месяца назад +2

I think I said something similar at one point, for me it almost became unwatchable around '96.. and certainly by 2000 it was utterly dreadful and has never recovered to this day sadly.
