    This is an excellent video. However, two metrics you did not mention are very important. The question every nation wants to know is how many square miles can two F-15EX patrol and maintain total superiority. The answer is TOP SECRET. Some insiders believe it is likely the biggest number of square miles of any aircraft. The second important metric, also a secret, is average time to turn around a plane and put it back to service. Some techs have said they could change out both engines faster than any other aircraft. And in combat more time in the air equals lives saved.

    • @sshumkaer
      @sshumkaer 9 месяцев назад +2

      That's a good argument for sure, nothing is untrue about the statement even if the facts aren't correct.
      I know the Airforce has mentioned NGAD based of the F-22 miles of 400 or 600 total miles, they are hoping to push a 1,200 mile range for a pacific war, " even if it means not being as maneuver as the F-22."
      Should be interesting.

      @@sshumkaer My late Uncle Bill was Director of the F-15 at the inception, at McDonnell Aircraft company. He said Miles of patrol was the greatest secret of any fighter aircraft production. And F-15 was near the top of the heap. Although, he never spoke of any figure. But, he did say the square miles figure is what sold the plane to other countries. How long for an engine change is what made the orders to governments very juicy.

      Rather than the F-15EX themselves fighting to maintain air superioity, they'd be better used as the muscle to carry aloft the huge quantity of missles the F-35B and F/A-18 cannot. The CCP PLAN would swarm attack and that is the weakness of the F-35B, F/A-18, and F-22 not having enough air-to-air quantity. Total stealth isn't needed by the F-15EX in that situation where it provides the quantity of air-to-air missiles the F-35B and F/A-18 didn't carry aloft.

      What you said does not make sense. You said "a 4th fighter jet can now see 5th Gen aircraft".
      We've never claimed that the AESA radar on the F-15EX can 'see' a 5th gen (i.e. stealth) aircraft.
      It would be more reasonable to question if the J-20 is truly a stealth, 5th gen aircraft, or just a hyped 4th gen with mediocre aids to reduce its radar signature.

      The SR-71's didn't have "Rocket" engines ; they had { Hybrid } jet engines ; first part was a standard Jet and 2n parts was a Turbo-Ram Jet. Yes rocket engines are faster then even a Ram-Jet but rocket engone technology wasn't advanced enought to be the engines for the SR-71's at the time. Once the BlackBirds were high enough to switch to and use the Turbo-Ram Jet operation ; the Turbo-Ram jet got more efficent the faster they went. So it was to the BlackBirds advantage and what allowed it to perform how it had too. So the BlackBirds were a Hybrid which got better efficiency in hybrid mode - another aspect of the engingeering that was way ahead of the time.

    With the aliens, we may have to crowd. The skies with jet fighters. Hypersonic flight, hypersonic nuclear missiles. And lasers. They wouldn't have a chance if every way they turned was a jet fighter. Or a smartbomb Chasing it at Hypersonic speed. It would be smart to make it to where every direction they try to move. They get stuck. Simply by overcrowding them.

    What will it take to generate mach5 speed. And why don't we go for that?

    • @mattda22
      @mattda22 10 месяцев назад

      SR-71 can hit that speed they just need to take that tech and put it into a fighter, I think the F14 Tomcat would be a great platform because of its wings where they can sweep back

      Every tier of Mach speed creates more heat and the need to deal with that heat. Titanium's heat dissipation capabities might not be enough to deal with Mach 5 or faster. TItanium was the only real choice of material for the BlackBirds airframe to be made of. After technology in general advances enough to where we can have an alloy to deal with the heat of Mach 5 then we can have Fighter jets that fast.

    Stealth as pointed out is expensive and with the right integration radars can find a sreslth aircraft. Integrated radars find the holes in the sky that represent the location of the steslth aircraft. One was shotdown in the Balkans years ago in the Balkans. The F22 was to be the equivalent in role to the original role of the F15 while the F35 was to match the original role of the F16. One of the reason for F35 delays was to improve its air superiority, since this wasn't its original role. Would I prefer a newer aircraft; but this will be closer to an air superiority role with as stated greater speed, good maneuverability , and heavy armament.

      @@briantaylor6562 You are correct, leaving the US with no fighter designed for and optimized for air superiority. That is fine, unless we go toe to toe with an enemy with a significant air threat; meaning a superior number of peer aircraft or advanced fighters optimized for air superiority. I am less than impressed with some of the ideas about drones because if I were an enemy i would remove that threat with methods of signal blocking. By the GPS munitions aren't as effective if the enemy destroys your satellites. Again no issue unless you are dealing with a peer adversary or one armed by such an adversary. The problem with our planners is that they love complex solutions with failure po I nts built into them.

      In the end it really doesn't matter we are only here because the Airforce never followed through on the original plan which was to retire everything with the F-22, but budget cuts kept them from purchasing as many. Now, 30 years later, it doesn't Mayer new computer chips, faster processing, more memory space, better sensors it just makes sense to update now.
      Despite the Airforce saying the F35 stealth is based off the F-22 and that the F-22 air to air combat defeats it. Which is also not important as the F35 is more of a fighter bomber classification.
      F22 stealth is classified until after I'm dead. I'm in my 40s

    Each engine produces 29,000 POUNDS (not feet) of thrust

    Doesn't look real. Don't usually see flame from the front of the engines. I whole lot of air is going in and the flame comes out the back. To many other things look wrong. The scale compared to the people underneath would make this thing absolutely gigantic. The F-15EX is real but this isn't it

    US just needs a New Stealth Eagle to be a dominate Air Superiority fighter. Has to be Stealthy to some extent & look really scary "intimidation" with canards. Be Large also, because we know the Russians always trying to push our Fighter jets around. Have 3D thrust vectoring technology Engines & canards that actually assists with 3D thrust vectoring engines. Be twice as fast so their is no competition Mach 3-5 & have Supercruse technology. Have the latest & greatest Radars & also employ some old school radars for back ups. Fly at least as far as the J20 & maybe farther if its as large. Have the latest & greatest standoff missiles systems mach 5-10 at least 400-500 mile ranges. Also have the absolute most desirable weapons pay load ever of any fighter jet ever created. The latest sensory technology & communications, to communicate with other existing fighters/drones "information" sharing systems. Can do double triple duty, as air to air & air to ground & air to sea capable systems. Fighter or Bomber & anti ship & submarine capabilities as needed. Also be available for Air Force, Navy, Army & Marines. Build the absolute most dominant unbelievable Eagle/Predator Ever Imagined. That would also be around for the Next 40-50 years. That would totally be a sick example of a New Eagle to say the least 😁😎

    I never understand these videos or why people find them interesting. They get hard on about things that don't matter.
    Russia only comparing to America hasn't had a winner jet since like Korea.
    Everything from the F-15 and up can win those Russian fights. Even modernized F-14 probably going to wax the floor.
    It just doesn't matter in the end, that's the reality today 50 or 100 years from now maybe Russia will produce a great Aircraft.
    Just to end on this note, the Flanker is a cool jet, but truthfully, what Jet since the F-14 can't do the Cobra?
    Answer ZERO. Once again, the Cobra may be cool looking, but it doesn't serve any other purpose than to create an overshot. Here's the thing, though: if I have your 6, I should never lose the battle, and as long as I manage my speed, the overshoot should never happen.
    More Cool things that don't matter.
