Listened to this for the first time in 2016... 6 years later I am a baptized orthodox Christian. Glory to God.
For me it was the "Appalachian Orthodox chant". But this came soon after. I haven't entered the church yet but i feel an identity with it and plan to enter as soon as i can figure out how in this region.

seronymus I can tell you but it’s hard to summarize a whole year of struggle ,pain and soul searching on just a comment in YT ,but if I had to explain my choice in 1 word I would say- cancer.

I must be honest with you in a Christian manner because I need to vent it out: I used to not like your race, because your people have been associated with things like communism and... I am sure you know the conspiracy theories. It was wrong of me and I didn't even know any jew would ever want to be truly Christian, much less Orthodox. seronymus That’s ok I already beaten cancer (at least for the next couple of years hehe) when they found a sarcoma cancer in me I went through couple of very harsh treatments of chemo but I turned it down for number of reasons (it’s a long story) and started to treat myself with alternate means ,at this time I was introduced to Christianity when some of my moms acquaintances which were not Jews started to pray for me ,it went so far that some people sent me medicine from Russia ,Ukraine and Australia even (I live in Israel by the way) -All of these people were from a small orthodox communities..I couldn’t believe someone stranger to me would pray for me and go that far ,so naturally I was very intrigued by this Christian ideology ,later I started to read the bible and one thing lead to another -long story short ,it blew me away I was very ashamed of myself ,because I did some bad shit before I joined the army to other people ,the concept that God loves us all and can forgive everyone was stranger to me. Later I was baptized by an Arab bishop named Romanos at the Jordan river and my mom seeing the comfort Christianity gave me soon followed ,my little brother is still Jewish tho but he wasn’t a religious person to begin with...and as for your question about why Jews seem to appear anti-christian sometimes ,you need to understand that many Jewish people are devoted and protective of their religion (even if not religious around 95% of Israelis believe in God) maybe even a bit prideful since Judaism is the most ancient mono religion -for them Christianity is a threat to their rich tradition and no one is around to teach them otherwise about Jesus..this situation reminds me a bit of apostle Pauls situation because Paul also loved and was devoted to God so much in fact that he was offended by Christians personality and even offered to hunt them down ,his sense of calling made him a narrow minded person ,you can say it’s the same thing with the Jews however don’t get me wrong Israelis are not like the Rotchilds or Rockerfellers the majority are regular people ,in fact most of the Israelis are some of the warm and hospitable people you would ever meet ,that’s why I believe many Jews will also chose Jesus in the end...

The Holy Spirit only descends in the Blessed Fire into the Holy Sepulchre, only when the Orthodox are serving.
@@predragmaricic8 We know the Holy Spirit does this. But Christ Himself said that we have not been told everything. Indeed, so it was shown also at the Transfiguration. And St. John the Evangelist, in his vision of the third heaven, reveals that some things will not be revealed while we are in this world.
Therefore, your '"only" descends' is in error. You claim to know more than has been revealed. Is not the operation of the Holy Spirit at the discretion of God? Is it not in fact the discretion of God in itself? And if God invites a non-Orthodox by means of Orthodox prayers, is that not the in essence of conversion? Is not our own ongoing conversion to Him helped in our prayers? Absolutism is rigidity of the spirit; only God is Absolute, forever above us. Such is vanity, which leads to pride. May God have mercy on us and bless us all, Orthodox and non-Orthodox and atheist, for of His love He came to save us all.

That's one thing I do sincerely love about the Orthodox: their emphasis on repentance. St. Paul tells us to "put to death the deeds of the flesh" (Romans 8:13) and to "crucify the passions" (Galatians 5:24). As a Catholic, I have tried to learn from this attitude.

I like to come back to this chant whenever i am feeling stressed and overwhelmed by life. It makes me feel calm and level, like i know what is going on and that there is something over it all. The words are beautiful and reassuring. This isn't the video i come to, i like this same recording in another video that has some other lovely english chants, but this is my favorite, spiritually.
