One suggestion... I would do an evaluation of the cars before and after tuning. Let the viewers see how much improvement these tips generate. And... how do you true front tires if they don't fit the rear wheels? How do you true front wheels?
Richtig tolle Tipps.
Some good tuning tips here. Our race group use and others to make the cars run so much better. All in my race group agree that some small side cutting pliers would be a safer alternative to a scalpel. Sandpaper or a dremel type sander is also preferred for removing chassis interference to get the desired body float. We all wished Scalextric made the cars closer to the finished tuned product out of the box. Please give a tuned car to the Scalextric engineers to help them with their designs and discuss the issues with them. The standard 18,000 rpm SP motor is preferred to the much less controllable faster FF motor. Tuning much better than wholesale replacement in a club racing or any racing scenario.
If you won't/can't zoom in the camera for close up shots where we can actually see what you're, you could at least take Close upp pictures and insert them in the video.
I nothing against carrera but I could do away with the highway lines in the middle of the track , just not my cup of tea it seems to have a toy appearance to it , but it's cool that people like it , but they do have some of the coolest cars out there and all of the new ones are cool as heck they look great and lots of details, lettered tires I like that alot, and they are fast enough right out of the box,
try to clean the track and if it sounds like it is hitting something in the track try and see if the track is bent at the bottom of the groves. i just pulled out a track that has been untouched for about 4 to 6 years and the cars would stop and start and it was a night mare but i just worked tho it after seeing the price of the new tracks and knew that wasn't an option
TopGearDog Hi. Motors like this rarely burn out but if you need to replace a glued motor you can remove hot glue with a little lighter fluid and a blunt edge. Have fun!
Lol 😂 this is just the start of tuning I could blow ur mind out how I can make a car run full speed and hang on to the track for hours only I do 164 and make my own rules
table too low or the chaps should be seated, dont need to see the tops of their heads, we are here to see the cars in detail not the presenters, cheers
I can't see these mods making much if any difference. The way I would do it is as follows. Replace the motor with a higher RPM variant. The standard ones run at around 10,000rpm unloaded, but compatible motors which run over 30,000rpm are available. Replace the magnet under the car with a Neodymium type for added cornering ability. You may then have issues with the tyres coming off from the hubs. Superglue will hold them on at the higher speeds your car will now do...
Great information but you need to ZOOM in with the camera so we
Can see more, thanks.
Zooming in/macro shots would help a noob like me.
Yes, more close up shots to see what is actually being done.
Totally, I had no idea what he was actually gluing with the axle bearing bit.

Zooming in would help...
Before and after running to compare.
Small tip: You can use alcohol to remove the hot glue.

Would have been better if camera closer instead fixed and distant!
Very helpful! Thanks!
Thanks! Great video.

Well done! Added to DiSCA tutorials

Use compressed air to remove debris.
Ever see a front wheel drive custom slot car
Where can I get a Scalextric T-Shirt like that?
Great video 👍
How about zooming in ? 😲
That really informative thanks,😀😀😀
Hi um I have a scalextric track and one Side isn’t working at all but the another one is run perfectly I don’t know what to do???
Drugs.

its all to do with the connection at each joint use a thin knife or screwdriver and close the open hole just a touch to make a better fit
I wouldn't glue the motor to the chassis in case it ever burns out and needs replacing

Not bad!

I heard putting clear nail polish the front tyres helps the car round the track, is this any good for f1 cars or a bad?
Fab 👏👏👏
A nice close up or overhead shot would have been better.

no magnets

We need close ups…
What's the point of this video if you don't show the details?
No safety glasses.
Slotcar
Why is this Gary bloke on here when on other channels he cusses out scalextric saying they are basically toys and rubbish
Because there is nothing wrong with toys maybe?
Plenty of explaining! NOT ENOUGH ZOOM....................................
