I knew you could dry your work and add the next layer, yet I was SHOCKED to see you added more water on top of your dry layer, and work on it again. I understand not pushing down on it to hard and brushing over it alot to lift your prior work, yet the results you created from this was encouraging and frankly remarkable. Thanks.... and it was a stunning piece of work! New Sub. ~*Shana waiting to watch more :)
Oh my goodness Emily! I am VERY new to watercolours. 8 minutes into your video I would have been freaking out and throwing a tantrum! "It looks like a kids painted it! I'm throwing it in the bin!" But no, you calmly say, dry it completely, do another layer and you ended up creating a masterpiece. Thank you so much! I would love you to cast your artistic eye on the few paintings I've done to see what you think. I'm struggling with grass right now though.
You might look up a few other artists her on RUclips, The Mind of Watercolor, Steve is a fantastic artist who does amazing things with trees and grass too! Sarah Burns is another person who works in gouache an opaque watercolor artist, check out others and see what they are doing too!
Hullo Emily, another well crafted painting and you show us how to with an effortless manner that belies just how difficult this kind of painting can be! I have often tried Steve Mitchell's spontaneous painting method yet I have not gotten even a tenth of the way through a painting yet! You are so patient and that I feel is a real key to your success
Another beautiful work that i'll have to try later ❤❤❤ btw i can't help but say the red part looks like a hand reaching out. Just like when most of us Find dogs and cats in the clouds.
Beautiful and I can relate to paper drying. I live in Park County, Co at elevation of 10k, paper dries so fast! Thanks, and please let me know if you ever offer classes in Co.
Do you have a recommendation for a palette? I have my own paint tubes and what to put them into something decent. Looking for something with around 20 wells and I'm wondering what palette you use. Thanks for the content!!!

Great video!
Emily, that was so beautiful and inspiring.
Love this painting idea ❤️
Absolutely lovely. If one does not have a cats tongue brush would a large round brush like a 16 suffice?
Always enjoy your content! Hello from Fort Collins 😊
