I wish I could tell you how hugely important this song has been to me. Both my parents died and my husband left me all in a time period of 6 months. I was battling crippling anxiety and fighting it and fighting God. Finally, I just told him, Lord if you want me to have anxiety, I'll have it. Just don't leave me. I felt his peace, and my life began to turn around.

The trees were a thing from the pagans and the bible strictly tells us not to be as the heathens were which includes trees, mistletoes, hollys etc. The day itself isn’t pagan but the rest involved is. Jesus wasn’t even born on the 25th and most know this. Celebrate Jesus everyday! One day isn’t enough.
For me, acknowledging and making peace with the fact that Dec 25 is actually not the date when Christ was born has helped. I just say "it's not the day you were born, but it's a day set aside to specially celebrate your birth and what I means to humankind"

Anointed and powerful. Listening as I prepare to end 2022. This year has been tough year. I lost my mom May 09, 2022 at 4:03pm. I have heard many versions of this song and this one gave me the strength I needed. The Great I Am is about to manifest what we thought He forgot about. I thought He forgot about me. We can love her and all the apostles and saints that went before us without constantly trying to contact her spirit or direct inappropriate praise and focus that should be going to God. God does not allow us to try and contact people that have passed, saint or sinner, Deuteronomy 18, it is called necromancy. We also see what happened to Saul when he tried to contact a dead prophet- he lost his life and soul. It is not a Catholic/Protestant issue, it is a command from God himself. After all, the song said at Mary's own baby will deliver her too. She needed salvation just like the rest of us. Her faith and sacrifice is an example to me, especially in this season I am in. Talk about timely. I woke up this morning feeling hopeless and worthless. Still in the process of healing. Still learning to use the mistakes, rejection, hurt and pain as fuel to be and do better. The song came up randomly on my worship playlist as I was cleaning my apt. When I actually heard the last few words of the song I couldn’t help but rewind and pay attention to all of the words the second time around. I cried my heart out the moment Chandler said that greatness is inside of us. When it sometimes feel like I am left behind in a space where everyone is moving forward in abundance, I have to declare that greatness is indeed inside of me. My time will surely come but I need to hold on all while doing what I can and submitting what I cannot control to God.
