    Tried the roll and the stuff. A little more concentration on the roll I find is easier than the stuff

    I regret getting the Mudgee C-5 because it says it's about 200cm long but of course it's including the hood.. wish I had known

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  3 года назад

      By our measurements the Mudgee bags are about 215cm long, light487, so would be suitable for users up to about 210cm but probably more comfortable to about 200cm, that is unless you plan on burying yourself completely under the top of the bag. ~ Ben

      @@SnowysOutdoors yeh I am 186.. I just thought I'd be able to have my head on the hood bit and not touch the bottom of the bag.. but that doesn't seem to be the case.
      I've literally just packed it away so can't measure it right now.. but will see if I can measure it once at the campsite tomorrow.

      @@light487 the hood isn't overly big on the Mudgee bags, it's not really even a hood, more of an extended flap to seal the gap between the top of your bag and the pillow. ~ Ben

    Would you recommend this one or Big game for a school camp? Thanks!

    • @SnowysOutdoors

      If you are primarily in dormitories and for general use then this will be fine, but if you need something more durable and perhaps for sleeping outside directly under the stars then the Big Game might be a better choice. ~ Ben

    What is the difference between the Pilbara and big game

    • @SnowysOutdoors

      Big game has a heavy duty canvas outer, Frank which means it packs up bigger. There are slight differences in temperature ratings too. ~ Ben

    Can the removable fleece liner be zipped together with the Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      It can ChiaPet, but the Stratus is shorter and doesn't zip all the way to the top. It would work well if you laid the Pilbara liner on the bottom with the Stratus on the top. ~ Ben

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  2 года назад

      I've never heard of anyone having this trouble, barney h, the zip pull kind of gets encased in the material, so it won't be a problem. ~ Ben

    • @SnowysOutdoors

    It’s a shame there is 10 degrees difference between what the ratings say and what it actually is according to reviews. 10 degrees can be the difference between life and death, also the other problem is a lot of cheap sleeping bags say a temperature on it but not the extreme temperature and I think that’s what had happened with the sleeping bag in your video, it’s always best to buy a sleeping bag with the comfort range temperature and the extreme range temperature. I have a lot of sleeping bags I learnt the hard way but you really can’t go past Oztrail sleeping bags I have 2 of them and they are flannelette and long the first being the oztrail Nullarbor hooded that has a comfort rating on it of - minus 5 Celsius and and extreme rating of - minus 10 Celsius that thing is boiling. The other one is the Oztrail mega cotton canvas it’s comfort rating is- minus 7 and an extreme rating of - minus 12 Celsius I’ve used that outside in the elements around 2 degrees Celsius and it was boiling inside I have no doubt it will still be comfortable at - minus 7 and colder bare in mind that was outside in the wind too.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Год назад +1

      A lot of bags make a best guess rather than using the EN test, or actually state an extreme rating which isn't realistic or useful for the average user. On our website we have added a 'Snowys rating' which we use to state the temperature rating we think it should be rated at based on feedback from our customers.
      For this bag, we say 5 degrees despite the -5 degree claim of the manufacturer.
